  1. I've only got six days left until eggs and ricotta cheese... I'm pretty excited about it too lol
  2. RM, my physician said incisional pain is normal for about a month. I hope your grilled cheese went down ok!
  3. I <3 the shrinking feeling.
  4. Chellede, I know we will succeed. There are no ifs ands or buts about it! The thought has honestly crossed my mind too though. However, my mom just went through this journey, and has been very successful. I think she has her before and after pictures on here. MichiganChic is her screen name. I think because I have had someone so close to me do so well, it takes away some of the scary "this isn't going to work either" thoughts. As far as the Facebook group, I wouldn't mind being one of the starting few. I was not secretive about my weight loss surgery, so if something goes wrong and it's not private, it's not a huge deal to me. Peek, so glad your ticker is working! I'll have to check it out when I get home today! I'm at my one week appointment today. So far I've meet with the dietician and the nurse, and waiting to see the NP. I'll let you know how it goes! Good luck to everyone having their surgery today!
  5. Jen!!!!!! I'm sure you're out of surgery now. Let us know how it went when you are able!
  6. Good luck today!!! I know you will do great. See you on the losers bench =)
  7. And I promise you will show, even overweight =). That was a concern for me when I got pregnant. I carry all of my weight in my stomach, so I was afraid I would just look fatter then I already was. I looked pregnant probably around 6 months.
  8. Congratulations! I was pregnant last year before my surgery. I shopped at Target and Motherhood Maternity. I would also suggest the full panel in jeans and other pants.
  9. Chellede, I will activate my Facebook for you lol. Do you want to make the Facebook group? Kim, great info on the water! Thanks! Athomas, I'm sorry you feel so bad! I'm having a rough time today too. Not getting in enough calories is starting to wear on me! Meyers, I'm not sure if it would or not. I forgot earlier today and took a big drink too... It didn't feel that great. It's so strange when you have to change something so simple, like the way you drink.

    OCTOBER 2014

Layknee, hope you feel better soon! Get some rest and more importantly hydrated!
  11. Congrats!!!! How did your new sleeve handle the jello and broth?
  12. I totally agree on no Facebook! I got rid of mine awhile ago, and I don't want to lose touch with you all! As for the scale, I think it's totally a personal thing. I like weighing everyday! I am dreading the stall though, and I feel like I would dread it with or without the scale. My mom is one of the successful "vets" on here, and has weighed everyday since she started her pre-op (which my phone wants to auto correct to Oreos...) diet. She said now if she's up a little, she curses at the scale and moves on with her day. No matter how much you weigh in, if you are doing the program it will work! I totally agree with Kim that we should all Celebrate our other stuff! I have wrote down everything I have put in my mouth since last Wednesday, and I'm super excited about that =)
  13. Lovely, that sounds amazing! Like strawberry lemonade! RM- it's so weird how each surgeon's plan is different!
  14. Oh! And if you can eat creamy soups, I would recommend Campbell's cheddar cheese. I know it sounds gross, but I had some last night and it was pretty good. It's high in calories though, but if you can still only eat 2 ounces like I can, I would totally get some.
  15. I would kill for some ricotta cheese right now! Or some yogurt! I can't have either until I'm 17 days out. I get the ricotta cheese, but I think yogurt has the same consistency as pudding, which I can have.
  16. Oh, and lovely, I haven't seen you post anything, or I missed it, but I hope you're having a great day!
  17. Peek!- Did you get your ticket to work? I'm on my iPhone and they don't show up anyway. And I TOTALLY agree; this is an AWESOME group! KimR- Whoot, Whoot! 11 pounds!! How does it feel to know they are never, ever coming back?! Also, can I come over for some delicious soup? I promise I don't eat much haha =) Chellede!- You are a strong woman! I promised I wouldn't weigh myself everyday, but here I am, weighing everyday. How is your allergic reaction doing? Was it to whatever glue your dr used? You might be nearing the first stall... I know for most it hits at 3 weeks, but some people I've seen on here get it much earlier. Are you counting calories? I know there is no way I can eat a whole cup of soup right now. I can only eat about 2 oz still lol. And it takes forever and a day! I know different Drs have different diet plans though. I'm 100% sure if you are sticking to whatever your plan is, you will lose the weight you want =) Jen- Good luck tomorrow! I know you will do great! Deb- Super glad your surgery went well! RM- I'm also 9 days out and experiencing the same things. My weight loss this morning was only (LOL) 0.9 pounds. It's just funny for me because before when I was on a diet, I would be extremely happy with that loss for an entire week! We are getting closer and closer to the 3 week stall. That's the only thing I can thing of. We just need to keep doing our plans and *try* super hard not to get frustrated! My incisions also still are sore, especially when I stand up or bend down. My mom and friend both said their incision pain lasted about a month. I go for my post op appointment tomorrow- I will ask about it and report back! Does anyone else think their food tastes like CRAP?! I drink a little diluted 100% fruit juice to keep my energy levels up. I loved every kind of juice before surgery, especially white grape. Now, I have to make myself drink it! Also, strained cream of mushroom soup is now the bain of my existence!
  18. I LOVE before and after pics!!!! I can't wait to post mine up there =)
  19. You will be fine! I was TERRIFED too! I cried the whole time at the hospital before my surgery. My mom's BMI was over 50 when she had her sleeve. She will be two years out in December. Make sure you let us know how you are doing. Not sure if you are the praying type, but I will say one for you anyway. What do you call cheese that isn't yours? Nacho cheese! Yes, just went there =)
  20. Where is chellede at today?
  21. Lovely, so so so glad you are feeling better!!!!
  22. On my scale, I was down 13.8 yesterday. I didnt have to do a pre-op diet, except for full liquids the day before, so I'm sure a lot of that was water weight. We will see what my official loss is on Thursday when I go to my first post-op appointment!
  23. Thanks! I'll have to go back and give them a whirl.
  24. Peek, great job on losing the 10 pounds! That's excellent! Glad they took you off your blood pressure medicine. How does it feel to ALREADY have your blood pressure be more normal and not high?!
