Pain Ranking: C-Section vs. Sleeve
stephh replied to Garifab_VSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a much easier time recovering from my sleeve surgery. I had to take pain meds for a week after my c-section and only took pains meds during my night stay at the hospital after the sleeve surgery. That being said, after the c-section, I was breastfeeding my baby. He would only latch on while I was laying down (for the first week; it got much easier, thank goodness!), so switching sides was horrendous! I was also up every few hours at night to feed him. After the sleeve surgery, I rested in bed and my husband took care of the baby. It could be the difference was what occurred after the fact. -
Congrats! You look awesome. And I love your 3 week stall post. It got me through!

You still have to put forth the effort and stick to your surgeon's guidelines. It's much easier to do though when you're not hangry all the time! Seeing the scale drop every single day is also very motivating. Just do what your surgeon/dietican says, and you will be successful! I personally chose the sleeve for three reasons: 1) I can still take NSAIDs. 2) There are studies indicating less Vitamin deficiencies with the sleeve. 3) My mom had a sleeve, and has been highly successful. She lost 140 pounds, which was a little over 90% of her excess weight. My surgeon left the decision up to me. I didn't have reflux and my BMI was 44 (or something close; can't remember). I would have been a good candidate for either surgery.

OMG, you look fantastic!!! Happy one year!!!!

I have PCOS too. I was sleeved on 10/13/14, around 4 months ago. I have lost 68.4 pounds as of this morning. IN FOUR MONTHS!!!! I hit 50% of my EW before I was three months out. I'm 26 years old. I had been on a diet and exercised regularly my whole adult life and most of my childhood. For instance, I was on the swim team in high school and on weight watchers and still weighed close to 190 pounds. Having the sleeve has been nothing like the diets I have been on and I have been way more successful.

She weighed 306 when she started. I'm not sure what her average was; she has a graph at home and I will let you know! -

Don't worry ladies! My mom had surgery a little over two years ago. She lost weight for the first 14 months. She lost and has kept off over 90% of her excess weight. She did say the first sixth months were the easiest. -

I'm also in a stall right now. They must be contagious! I keep losing the same 0.7 pounds. I'm hoping tomorrow is the day more comes off! I've been hoping that everyday for a week. It's like the moment I hit onederland, my body decided it was done. -
I started losing my hair around the 3 month mark (just a few weeks ago). My hair is extremlly thick. A new hair tie will go around it twice, and it's tight/hard to get the second loop around, just to give you an idea. So far, the hair I've lost is about the same as it was post pregnancy/breast feeding. It does just come out in chunks, which makes me sad! Lost hair is worth the success I've had thus far.

Question for all you Catholic Sleevers
stephh replied to donnag53's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are concerned, just have the priest bless you in the communion line for a few weeks. My husband did this while in RCIA so he didn't feel weird sitting in the pew by himself. -

Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!
stephh replied to Marielbx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Peekboo That's super crappy about the constipation! That cannot be comfortable. I've also been getting more hungry and wanting to snack. I'm not sure if it's head hunger (work has been super stressful) or actual hunger. It's hard to tell between the two for me, so I am trying to keep my calories to a minimum still. I was also a heavy pop drinker before surgery, and I'm really starting to miss carbonation. Hopefully that subsides soon! -

What exercise routine do you recommend it's to cold to walk outside?
stephh replied to Sexy Granni's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nice, nice, nice!!! I love Leslie sansone workouts. Wii Fit is also a fun way to get some exercise in while it's cold out! -
