October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Yes!!! I feel the same way. I've lost a little over 70 pounds, but don't feel any smaller. I think I had a misperception about what I actually looked like 70 pounds ago.

    Piercings and surgery

I have a tragus piercing, 16 gage. I wore a bioflex spacer and didn't have any problems. The only thing that was weird and I was nervous about was the little rings on the end that keep it on. It came with two, but there is only a little notch for one. I used both anyway, because I was afraid of it falling out! It stayed in nicely though, and I kept it in for a week after surgery with no problems.

    Easter's Challenge

My weight this morning: 191.9 My goal of 178.7 still stands. Thank you!
  6. Thanks for posting this question! I'm 4 months out, and having the same problem. I track every single thing every day. I did lose an extraordinary amount of weight the first few months though. I'm glad other people saw this happen and I'm glad to know that sometimes your body just needs time to catch up. I just wish mine would think that it's caught up and get on with the weight loss already!
  7. I did not have GERD before my sleeve surgery. I started having heartburn a few weeks after my surgery, but took Zantac daily to get rid of it. I quit taking it about 2.5 months out and haven't had any problems since. My mom had to take Prilosec for the first year after her sleeve surgery. I honestly think it just depends on the individual and what you're eating and drinking.
  8. I have an autoimmune disease too so I totally get the weird/unfortunate symptoms they cause. I'm glad that you have been given a tool to help you lose! And for "slow" weight loss, I bet your surgeon is happy with your progress, especially given the circumstances.
  9. You look so great!!! Congrats on your success! See you in the workweek hustle

If you have a Flex, you can wear it in the water. It says on their website that it's water resistant. I wear mine while swimming. My email is Steffi.howell88@gmail.com I will be adding everyone who's name was already in this thread =)

    Pregnancy

I'm so sorry that you're going through fertility problems. I know from experience that it's super rough. I hope this surgery makes your problems go away! Have you looked into natural family planning? It might be a good option if you don't want to use condoms or birth control. You have to be meticulous about getting your basil temp and charting, but other than that, it's easy.

    Pregnancy

I'm basically doing the same thing. I had a baby in November 2013 and then had my sleeve surgery in October 2014. I hope to get pregnant around February 2016, which is a few months shy of my 18. Hopefully, I get pregnant a lot quicker then the last time! It took awhile and a few rounds of clomid (I'm happy that's all it took). Now that I actually have my sleeve, I don't think I could sustain me and a baby at this point (4 months out). There is no way I could eat enough. Hopefully in a year, I'm at goal and able to eat a little more to have a healthy pregnancy.

    Fitness Goals?

My first goal was to complete the couch to 5 K training. My last session is today!!! I can't even believe it. When I first started, I could barely run the 60 second intervals. Tonight I will be running for 30 minutes straight. My first actual race is March 8. I am also signing up for the Disney Princess Half next February. I can't wait to start training for it!
  14. You're hair looks so great!!!! I might have to get some of this keeps up. Thanks for letting me know what a sew in is! I'm an accountant and pretty much live under a rock when it comes to fashion and hair. I just show my hair stylist Pinterest pictures of what I want and we got with it haha

    Pregnancy

I don't think that's the answer the OP was after, because she stated she heard you have to wait two years. Personally, my surgeon said 18 months and my OB said 12 months. She (and I) would love to know what happens when you DO get pregnant after the sleeve. Is it hard to lose the weight? How do you eat for two? For those that were pregnant before the sleeve and then after, how was your pregnancy different? 16. @@Monasongbird_38, I'm glad I'm not the only one losing hair. What is a sew in? I've never heard of that before. From what I've heard, just the stress on your body from surgery makes it fall out. My mom recently had plastics, and hers starting coming out again just from that. Not as much, but still more shedding than usual. @@Kathy812, you're doing so phenomenal! 50 pounds in 4 short months is crazy. I know I couldn't have done that before, without my sleeve. What kind of thyroid condition do you have? Is it something that will go away after you're done losing weight? Rice is a strange thing to have a problem with lol. But I have issues with lettuce, which I'm not sad about BTW. I spent so many years eating lettuce because I was on a diet, I could care less if I ever had another! 3 days a week of exercise is a lifestyle you could easily keep up with the rest of your life. There is something to be said for that, and not getting burnt out by it. Size 14s are the best thing ever. Seriously. You no longer have to go plus size, and can shop at normal people stores!!!
  17. @@Peekboo, my bariatric dietician also recommends between 65-75 grams of Protein daily. I probably get in all of my protein between 90-95% of the time. Today was not one of those days haha. @@aSleeveStory it sounds like you are doing fantastic!!! You probably already look like a "stranger" with the 122 pounds you lost. That is seriously SO incredible!
  18. My iron level was low normal at my 3 month check. I take biotin, B-12, vitamin D-3, and a prenatal. I don't take calcium, because mine trends high. All of my levels were in normal ranges.
  19. I noticed mine starting around 3 months. I also am pulling handfuls out at a time.
  20. PS: I'm six strands of hair away from being bald now...

    Pregnancy

I'm following this because I'm curious too!!! Great question!!!
  22. How's everyone doing? Hope all is well; it's been quiet in here lately! I finally hit my 70 pounds down mark this morning! I feel like my weight loss has really slowed and it took me forever to get from 60 to 70 pounds. I'm not sure if I'm eating more or too many carbs or what, but I don't like it! I really wanted to hit my mid-goal of 145 by 6 months out (118 pounds lost). This is looking less and less achievable with each passing day. 50 pounds to go and a little less than two months to do it. I starting running, and I LOVE it. I have my last run tomorrow to complete my coach to 5K program! I couldn't run more than 60 seconds at a time when I started and yesterday I ran for 28 minutes straight. Seriously the biggest NSV for me! Let me know how you all are doing!!!!

    Valentine's Challenge

193.7 Thanks for running this challenge! I'm looking forward to the next one.
  25. I'm 26, 5'5", and have three goals: My top goal is 170. I feel like this is easily obtainable for me and am almost there! Just a little under 25 pounds to go. My real goal is 145. It's at the top end of a healthy of BMI and in the healthy weight range. My stretch goal is 131.7, which is half of my starting weight. I just think it would be cool to say that I way 50% of what I did!
