  1. sfeiner, I do join you in praying for those who do not know God. To each of us he has given a measure of faith. He has given it to them as well. Yet, they choose not to believe. He is not a God who will force himself on anyone. And in that day every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is lord.

I have enjoyed reading all the posts; so inspiring and just lets us realize that we are flesh and we are weak and vulnerable to the things in the world, but we are not of the world. He rose with all power in his hands. We have access to that power too.

Just knowing that he is mine, makes all the difference in my day.

  2. ldysunfyre, did you just call them to ask if they covered the procedure, or has your surgeon submitted the request? I understand that it is a case by case procedure with them. I am still waiting. I had called last week and was told that a decision would be made within 30 days. Friday will be 30 days.

  3. LapBandFan,

Your request has already been heard. When you speak, know in your heart that God has heard you and by faith you are believing that He will do the things that you ask of Him.

I am waiting for insur approval for my procedure. It has been almost a month. I have contacted the insurance company and they said that a decision would be made with in the 30 day period. Next Friday, 14th, will be the 30th day. I also asked them if they were needing anything else from me. No, she said. There are no notes on your case. The case is working.

So, I will wait. I have been getting better at waiting lately. Relating my experience with Habbakuk. God told him that the things he had asked for would slowly but surely come. Not a moment too soon or a moment too late.

  4. I am sorry to hear that your friend had passed away from an infection. No doubt there are serious risks with any kind of surgery. We must speak up and be heard when it is our health that is at risk. Arm ourselves with knowledge and if we do not get the response we want, seek it somewhere else.

Be encouraged with knowing that she is being cared for now.

  5. Good things do come to those who wait.

I am waiting too. I have attended the seminar. I have completed the computer test and psyche eval. Now just waiting for approval from insur to set up my surgery date.

    Thinking positive.:whoo:

Hey Megan, and thanks for your post. I was feeling the same way you are. Everyone's words of encouragement truly speak to my heart. I fear the procedure but I fear mostly the thought of continuing with high BP and diabetes. I want to live a healthy life .... so I try to avoid the postings that give alot of post- op problems. I figure I'll save those for the time that I actually go through it. For now I want to interact with those that can offer me a support system to stay motivated until I can finally reach my banding date. I am just starting out so I have a ways to go. I have my reffereal and will be attending a seminar on Wednesday. Keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have problems with the insurance. Good luck and lets Keep in touck

  6. Sounds greek to me, too. The previous insur policy I had with my job also did not have the weightloss surgery benefit. If my employer would have chosen it, it would have cost them more to have the benefit and more for me to pay for it weekly. I think now more insur companies are paying for the surgery through individual plans. There are advocacy groups for obese patients who are denied insurance benefits.(In the gray area, this is illegal) However, I do not do ebooks either.

  7. coo,

Amen. I feel you. I could ask why people feel the way they do about weightloss surgery(especially the ones who feel like we don't deserve to have it) why we don't have a right to use whatever tools necessary to promote our own health and happiness. I'll bet we would not get a justifiable answer.

  8. I took my 165 question computer test on 10/26/07. Boy, was I glad to get that over with. The frustrating part about this is that I have scheduled the next to the last thing (hopefully) that I have to do before the surgery. My psych eval. The earliest that I can get it is 11/30/07! My anxiety level increases everytime I think about it. I was tempted to go ahead and pay for it myself and have it done sooner so that I can get scheduled for the surgery sooner! But the psych eval costs $160. With insur it is only $50
