    Any 9/07 bandsters losing slower?

For Breakfast I have a carnation instant drink with a banana that I put in to a magic bullet blender with milk. The other two meals is about three ounces of meat and some vegetables and a small amount carbohydrate. Usually no more than 3/4 to 1 cup of food. I eat the meat first, then the vegetable and if I have room the carbohydrate. The attachment is what I use as a guideline. I also have a snack in the evening either a small bowl of popcorn or yogurt.

    Any 9/07 bandsters losing slower?

Linda I have the 4cc band and I currently have 2.5 cc in it. I am going back in on 6/23 for another .5 cc. You should definitely have more in your band by now. My weight loss has slowed down in the last 4 months to 2 lbs a month. The scales do not seem to be as friendly as before. Still I feel very good about what I have accomplished in such a short time. I have not been at this weight in 20 years. I no longer use a CPAP machine and I have not taken any diabetes medicine in 3 months.

    Unpleasant Question

I strongly agree with the others. Call your doctor. Best to find out what really is happening to your body. And congratulations on your weight loss.

    I hope this isn't rude

I was 52 and it was the best decision I ever made. Both my wife and I had the surgery on the same day.

    painful fill

My doc uses a numbing agent and then has so far hit the port on the first try. It is probably a good thing because I am a bit of wimp when it comes to pain :-)

    Lapband humor

Wow both stories were funny. I often tell people that I have two stomachs now like a cow and they look at me like I am crazy.

    Injuries causing exercise issues...??

I can certainly relate to gaining and losing the same 4 pounds over the last month. The only problems I have had is badly spraining my ankle and had to take 10 days off my walking. i try to walk a minimum of 4 miles a day.

    Anyone Banded 9/5/07 ?

I believe it is normal for the weight loss to slow down as your body gets used to new you. Most of my loss happen in the first 6 months the last two months the loss has slowed way down. But I am thrilled with the results as well as not diabetes medicine and no cpap machine to deal with anymore.

    starting to get nervous

I was very nervous before the surgery. My wife both had surgery on the same day so we had a chance to be nervous together and I have not regretted the decision to have it.

    keeping it a secret

I am very open with my weight loss and most people are supportive. For me it was a health decesions and people were concern about my health and continue to give me courage. Plus it is pretty hard to hide when you lose over a hundred pounds.

    question about bread/hamburgers

I agree that whle a hamburger once in a while is nice it takes me a good hour to eat a medium size hamburger. Nothing worse than a cold hamburger. I did know someone who would put a cheeseburger and milk in a blender but I could never bring myself to try it.
  19. Having loss of feeling in my hands and feet were a major concern as well as numbing in my lips. I also was having trouble with my eyesight. I was also drinking tons of Water and always so thirsty, I also had trouble getting rid of sores on my feet and arms drove me to find a better way of taking care of myself. As a result I have very little pain if any in my body after living with pain every day for years.

    @#*Popcorn#@*

I love popcorn and still eat it on a regular basis. The only difference now is that I do not eat it by the fistful but one kernel at a time and chew it really well. Like all food it is important to chew it well.
  21. I certainly do not regret getting the lap band. My sugars was over 300, When I started looking at the lap band after years of losing weight and gaining ten to twenty pounds more I found myself at at a weight of over 317 (317 was my highest recorded weight do not know how much over 317 I actually went) I had to use a CPAP machine. I had pain all over my body. Know even though for the last two months my weight has been stable I have lost over a 100 lbs. I am no longer am diabetic. I no longer use a CPAP machine. my joints do not hurt. I have tons more energy and my waist has gone from 46 to 40 inches.

    Diabetic Bandsters?

I was taking 1600 mg a day of Glucophage for my diabetics 2. I have gone from a high weight of 317 to my present weight of 213. I no longer take Glucophage or use a cpap machine. My fasting blood sugars average 100.

    Weight loss is getting harder

Congratulations on losing the 100 pounds. I am coming off a six week plateau where I gain and lost the same 2 pounds. Perhaps your body is adjusting. I firmly believe with others that the first 100 seem to come off with a great deal of consistency. The remaining weight to lose will take longer so just hang in there.

    Only one more time

I have flown and have had to ask for a seat belt extension and I find that most of the time have not have a problem getting a seat belt extension. My wife and I just got back from a plane trip on United to Florida and it felt great not to ask for a seat belt extension and it felt great to have 10 inches of belt left. It also felt great to be able to walk down the aisle and not have to walk sideways to get to my seat. Your day will come as well.

Lost 100 lbs? What band do you have??

Molly I also have the 4 cc lapbanc I have had 3 fills for a total of 2.5 cc. The oly thing I would add to your list is to make sure you cut up your Protein into small pencil erarser pieces. Remember chew, then chew, then chew some more.
