Can anyone help with what I should say to the doctor today about my lack of progress? I have only lost 20 lbs. in 8 mos & YES I exercise regularly & vigorously.

I have expressed my dissatisfaction many times before to the doctor but all he wants to focus on is my diet. IF I COULD CONTROL MY DIET I WOULDN'T NEED THIS BAND! The problem is restriction or lack of it. I finally had the kind of restriction I needed to lose some weight but it became too tight & all the fill had to be removed (11/26) SO I'm starting all over. I think I have 6cc now (still no restriction :thumbup: )but who knows since it seems different each time they fill or remove. Anyway, my issue is that I need a fill but he won't for another 2 weeks & I'm furious that is why I'm going in to talk to him. It has been months since I have lost 1 lb! I had planned on this weight being off by March '09 for my daughter's wedding & don't think I was being unreasonable in my expectations being that I only needed to lose a total of 50 lbs.

Please give me your opinions on what I should say or how to handle this. I'm self-pay so insurance isn't a factor.

well crazycatlady i have questions for you. What doctor perform your procedure? If you are so unhappy with your doc why wont you switch? Do you write down everything you eat? If not you should that way you can refer back to where you may have went wrong. my only other guess would be that you didnt start off really obese and you are 155 now sometimes the body will only lose so much. But you should be happy with yourself. I wish u the best and hope every thing work out. But maybe you should keep a food journal to show your doc instead of telling him. Put some actions into those words you telling him.

HI ALL I GOT BANDED DEC 3 6 DAYS AGO ALLIS WELL SO FAR THANK THE LORD. IM ALSO IN RICHMOND. SURGERY @ RICHMOND SURGICAL. I HAVE LOSS 15 LBS FORM PRE OP DIET. HOPE TO HAVE LOSS MORE. DONT WEIGH IN UNTIL THE 18 AGAIN. SO FAR THIS IS MY WEIGHT LOSS STORY AND I HOPE TO BE BLESS WITH ALOT MORE SUCESSFUL STORIES. I HOPE I HAVE NOT BORE YOU ALL. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!!

Hi I have my first appoint. on Thursday to meet with my doc. Very excited!!!!. I would like for for us to keep in contact for I can have a friend to ask questions and share similiar momments. My surgery will be proform in Rich. Va at MCV Hospital, with Dr. Maher. How was it the last 5 hrs. before surgery how did they prepare you? Thanks Keyairah

Hi, Considering banding here in Richmnod my precedure will be done at mcv just because i work here and know the docs as well as the nurses and the know me. so I have a lot of my trust here.

Misskim please keep me inform of yoour new life after being band I'm still considering banding myself. Any words of advice. Hang in there.

tracyinks, Hi I have soo many questions for you but i will start with a few. Im considering getting band and am very excited but nervous at the same time it is approve by insurance. My next step is the visit with the doctor. I weigh 306lbs at the age of 26 WOW! I want you to keep me inform of your journey and let me know how things are going for you. first question any words of advice. My concern is the healing process of my wounds. I keep thinking I'm gonna have trouble healing. for one or two odd reasons.So how was the healing process for you. Please be my buddy online as i take tis journey i would really appreciate it.
