  1. That is awesome. . Question: is anyone drinking anything other than protein drinks during your first few days post op?? Is it because you have such small sips the reason it takes so long? Just curious.. Thanks and keep up the good work all !!
  2. I was required to attend 3 support grp mtgs pre op. I also had to attend a grp mtg with the surgeon & nutritionist. I found the support grps informative but after the 3rd mtg I felt like I personally would get more out of it post surg for some reason. It could be because most of the ppl there were post surg.. I do plan on going back after surg since they meet once a mo.

    NEWBIES..... LETS STICK TOGETHER

I am anemic and was told I have a vit D deficiency (but I live in WA state so I expect that). I was told to take a calcium w/ vitamin D supplement. My surg date is set for 8/13 after 9 or 10 long mos. If the surgeon has a cancellation I will have it sooner. Just reading, researching and getting things ready as I continue the wait game.
  7. Good luck you'll do great!! Sending positive thoughts and prayers!! My day is 8/13 unless they have a cancellation sooner..

    August 2014 sleevers!

After almost a year of waiting between pre op visits and finally a visit with the surgeon, I have my surgery sched for Aug 13th which seems even further away. The surgeon did ask me if I was willing to move up the date if he had a cancellation to which I said yes!!! I'm planning to start a pre op diet at the end of July which will consist of 2 shakes a day and a small meal a day. I'm so ready to get on with the surgery bit I enjoy ready lots of info on this site. I will also start going back to the support group mtgs after surg. By then, I'll have more to identify with... :-) Good luck to you!!
  9. Hi, I am new to this site and very grateful for all of the information/feedback that I am reading. After 10 long months of pre-op testing, visits, hoops required by my insurance Co. (Group Health) etc... I finally have my surgery date to be sleeved, August 13, 2014. I am so ready!! My surgeon did say that if there is a cancellation, that I can have the option of moving up my surgery date (I agreed to that). I think as time draws nears, I'll probably start to get nervous, but I have been waiting for this for so long, that I'm looking forward to it. I had my gallbladder removed in 2011 and I'm hoping that it will keep me from having a lot of the issues that I see some people have post op. I look forward to following your thread and wish you the best of luck on your journey!!!
  10. Well, I finally had my visit with the surgeon after what seems like 10 long months. My tentative surgery date is August 13th, unless there is a cancellation then it will be sooner. I am mentally ready to go..
