OK who is exercising today?
Going for my walk this morning. Didn't get to do one yesterday.

Is this normal?
Good luck Benson... you'll be right. Keep us posted, both of you.

Is this normal?
This is so normal. I don't really have any advice because I was anxious right up until they put the needle in me. Of course was out like a light and woke up banded. Just remember that thousands of people have been banded and come through it without any problems and you will too. Good luck.

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
Even 2 weeks restriction would be good at this point... might get a few pounds off in that time. I try to resist the wrong foods but can't always do it. Good on you Shortgal for resisting the pizza. I guess for me right now it feels like I was on a diet and lost some weight and now I'm off it again ... not too different to how I've always done it in the past. I'm trying not to be impatient about this but my motivation is dwindling.

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
It's definitely frustrating doing this without restriction. My 2cc in a 10cc band is not doing it for me. I went out for lunch and dinner today and on both occasions I had no problem finishing my meal. The meals I ordered weren't very big but way too big for a bander. My fill appointment is at 9am on Wednesday and I hope I get enough to give me a chance to get the weight loss moving again. If I wanted to do it with willpower alone I wouldn't have gone through an operation or have spent this much money.

OK who is exercising today?
Went for a 50 min walk this morning. Doing that every day except for the odd day off.

I hit a milestone - 100 pounds gone!
Fantastic Sue, what an achievement. It just shows it can be done and in such a short time.

I wonder if Ishould request a new surgery date?
My doctor didn't tell me to go on a pre op diet so I was out of control with my food intake prior to the op, even put on weight. I guess my liver was okay from the tests so didn't need it. You've lost 7 lbs so that should help. Talk to your doctor as he's the only one who knows what state your liver is in and whether you should go ahead with the op at this time.

a little rant
The way I see it is you can stick to what your doctor recommended and feel good about yourself or you can do what you want and then feel bad because you're not sure if you have damaged your band, especially if you are getting stuck, etc. It seems like it's forever but as Kelly said, you'll be at the mushies stage before you know it. Good luck.

CNN Video Clip
Great job Patty. You expressed yourself really well and let people know the truth, it's definitely not the easy way out!

Surprised by poll results
I don't usually tell anyone what I weigh unless they are overweight themselves. A girl from work asked me the other day and I was wary about answering. Her guess was about 20 lbs less than I weigh. I told the truth and then jokingly said that my boobs weigh at least 10 lbs each.

Do you take off your shoes?
My mum was a fanatic when it came to us wearing our shoes on her new carpet and eventually not so new carpet. Of course I always took them off but in my own home I don't bother with that as long as my shoes aren't muddy or wet. My ex used to make me take my shoes off when I went to his house and boy did that peeve me. There were times I was so stubborn I would nearly not go in. I think it was more to do with him peeving me than the actual shoe thing. Anyway, I don't expect people to take off their shoes when they come into my home so I would like the same in return.

Tom Cruise..scientology...no Comment...
Scientology is more like a cult than a religion. They try to convert people, even here in Australia. I remember back in the 80s, they used to stand around the streets of Sydney and wait for vulnerable people to come by. They would ask them a couple of questions then ask them to go back to their office / church to give them a more indepth personality assessment. Then of course from there they start reeling them in. They don't believe in psychiatrists, psychiatric medicines such as antidepressants or that there are any psychiatric disorders, eg, schizophrenia. The guy who started this a guy called Ron L Hubbard. I used to like Tom Cruise but he does go on now. John Travolta is a scientologist as well but doesn't seem to have the same need as Tom to ruin his career. Love Johnny!

Sydney Bandits for meet
Hi there, happy to meet some other bandsters... already met Danna as we have the same doctor. It will be nice to catch up again now that we're banded.

i am staying on plan today because ...
I'm staying on plan because I feel so much better when I eat less.

Johnson & Johnson Bandsters
I also have the J&J band... 10cc. I was banded on 1 Nov and had a 2cc fill on 12 Dec. I have very little restriction right now but have my 2nd fill this Wednesday. I assume that if I get another 2-3cc in it, my restriction should start to kick in.

They Just Don't Understand
I look at someone at 19 and think that it is so young but it's true that most of us have had our weight issues since our childhood or teens. I have been a yo yo dieter since my early teens and even though I stopped the fad dieting as I got older, I still had the problem of losing and putting on the same 20 - 30 lbs for many years. I know a girl who was banded at 21 (fat child) and has lost all her weight. She is 23 now and is engaged to be married... she said she is so happy and has never regretted her decision. I too wish I had done it sooner and say go ahead but be sure that you know what you are getting yourself in to. Good luck.

What are you eating Nymph's?
The more I read on this site, the more I realise how unrestricted I am and how it makes all the difference so I'm not giving myself a hard time about this any more. I've been pretty good most days & have been exercising every day. Next Wed is my 2nd fill and I'm hoping that will give me enough restriction to really kick start this thing again. It's a journey and everyone's journey is their own. Whether it be fast or slow, we will get there.

What are you eating Nymph's?
Today wasn't a good day for me as I went to the pub for lunch with some people for one of the girl's birthday and then went for a drink with her after work. Breakfast: 1 piece of rye toast with light cream cheese and small cup of skim latte Lunch: Bruschetta - in case you don't know what that is, it is toasted Italian bread with diced tomato & onions with a little cheese on top. 1/2 glass of white wine Mid afternoon: 1 banana Pub: Glass of orange & cranberry juice and crisps Dinner: Nachos with sour cream & avocado (not as big as I usually eat but not the best) Snack: 1/2 cup Jelly & light custard I guess now you know why I can't get the weight off at the moment. I am maintaining but I really want to start losing again. The last couple of days, I have started the day off with a Protein shake and haven't eaten anything until lunch time. Also my food choices have been much better than today. Back to that tomorrow.

OK who is exercising today?
I have been walking around 55 mins every day .. 4 kilometers (2.5 miles).

How do you determine goal weight?
I was in my early 30s the last time I was 73kgs and I looked pretty good... was going to the gym 5-6 times a week and playing tennis a couple of times a week (oh to be 30+ again). I certainly could have lost another 10kgs but of course as always, I started going the other way. I am 52 yo and I know that if I lose too fast or go too low I will age really quickly. At the moment, people think I am easily 10 years less than my age (always have). I think if I get down to 65 kgs (143 lbs), I will be one very happy girl.
