oh boy do I no how u feel! If u have a heating pad that would help out a lot...I started to feel better around day 5 and now I'm a week and on day out and it's like I haven't had surgery @ all...So take it easy and hope u feel better soon!I know what you mean abt the chicken broth! Ugh! I'm starving! If I can just get thru the wknd I'll be ok & can go on "full liquids". My surgery was Monday & I'm so sore & full of air. It hurts to burp but fella good to get it out the other end lol.

Look like we almost have the same post op diet..Have your husband had much success with the LB?Right after surgery, you have to follow a STRICT diet, from your surgeon. It's set up that way to insure proper healing of your band, also prepping you for how to eat in the future. You can't scarf food down anymore, can't chug down pop, alcohol, or even Water anymore. Everything is much slower. Lots of chewing, lots of smaller bites, lots of sips, and certainly no alcohol and sodas. The caffeine is a no-no for the first two weeks, according to my diet plan. The first 3 days were nothing but liquid, at 2-3 oz each meal, 6 meals a day, plus 24 oz of water. Days 4-6 were still 6 liquid meals, but every other one was a Protein Drink, all still 2-3 oz each. Day 7-13 are what they call the blended stage. Portions upped to 3-4 oz, and now certain foods are added, such as yogurt, creamed Soups, cottage cheese, veggies, even chicken and turkey with brith added. Still drinking the Protein Shakes, 3-4 oz in between each meal, still incorporating 24 oz of water. Mind you, this is how my des plan is, others may be different. So far, so good for me! (My diet plan goes up to 5 wks post-op. I can post more of it, if you'd like.) My husband was banded in 2010, and he still eats like crap, but his portions are very small. The band lets you know when enough is enough. I wish he would eat better. I'm hoping my better choices will rub off on him!!!

I will have surgery on 6/11, I'm on day 3 I my liquid diet. I haven't lost as much weight as I thought. I get nervous and scared however; I can't wait for my end result.

Sorry about ur bad experience..I can't drink my Protein Shakes either it gives me very bad gas pains and it seems like it sits @ the top of my stomach...I'm 4 days post op and I have only been sipping on water, grape juice, and Popsicles and today I had about 1oz of mash potatoes..My weight has went from 276 to 268 in 4 days..Please don't do as I have done. hope ur feeling better.Today was a bit scary... I woke up feeling tight...sipped warm tea...then later on drank a Protein Shake, and felt it get stuck! How does a watery shake get stuck? It was painful....I walked around with my head pointed to the ceiling, and mouth open because I felt a bubble of gas pushing against what I drank. Took 20 min to get the sip I took down and air from my stomach out. Now I'm sipping Water, scared to drink a shake! That was god awful. Other than that... I'm good! Lol. Heating pad is helping my left shoulder.

I'm not able to drink much may b a sip or to and then it's follow up with a sharp pain @ the top of my chest...Is that normal? I also had the plication.
