@@kimodell69 I actually live in Frederick, MD. I am having surgery at Fair Oaks because that's where my surgeon does his surgery. He's one of the best in the area and I wanted the best! It's worth the travel to make sure everything is done well. How do you like Florida? I think I'd miss the seasons. Besides, I love snow! LOL

So. My surgery is set for Oct 21. However, it was also set for Sept. 30 and then for Oct 7! I ended up getting sick and had to postpone. I am oddly calm and even a little detached. I think I won't believe it's happening till they wheel me into the operating room!

Hey...I'm 57 and you better believe I'm gonna get myself one too!!! Oh yeah! LOL

OK...it's a done deal. I got my clearance AGAIN for surgery on the 21st!! I am so blessed to have a wonderful workplace where they understand and support all of this. I've had to change my date twice! 3 times the charm, eh? LOL I normally take public transportation to work. I take a train and then when in DC, hop on the metro for a few stops. The whole process from my front door to work is just under 2.5 hours. Yup. Each way. However, I'm not willing to chance it again so, I'll be driving to work all this week. And guess what? It took me 3 hours to get in to work today! Eeekkk! So glad I don't drive every day normally! Anyway, just gabbing here. I'm glad that my date is finally coming. Now, I just have to stay healthy! Darn flu was horrible! I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

@@freelyme mine got postponed twice. First on the 30th of September and then on the 7th of October. I'm scheduled now for the 21st. I'm staying as far away from other people as possible!

My surgery was scheduled for Sept. 30. I got a cold and they rescheduled for the 7th. I still wasn't well enough so now I'm scheduled for the 21st. I go back to my primary doc on Monday for appended clearance. Frustrated? Yes. But, you don't want to go into any surgery with a cold. So, I'm ok with the 21st. I was really sick though.

Good luck to everyone getting surgery today! I have received my THIRD date. Oct 21. Three time's the charm? Let's hope so! Definitely starting to feel better. Still congested but that's getting better too.

@@Beni I was on antibiotics last week. I was feeling better but I think I over did it over the weekend and I'm coughing too much with congestion in my chest. So now it's a waiting game. Sigh. LOL

@@Beni oh I'm so glad you're doing better! It's all so stressful. I guess everyone has a "moment" with all that has to be done. So now it's the weekend. Relax and enjoy if you can!

You know...it really upsets me with all the rigamarol they put obese people through. First of all, we're the last accepted prejudice. We are still allowed to be discriminated against. Then, we go to our first info meeting, get all excited and then we're forced to wait at least 6 months or more. Then, they make us jump through more hoops to get us to the actual surgery. Not only that, it blows me away that we have to prove that we've tried to lose weight before! Are you kidding me? It seems to me the insurance companies are filled with clueless, never-been-fat people who believe they know what's best for us without even knowing us! I understand all the medical tests. But this whole procedure needs to be addressed and changed. We've all worked hard to be here and we all deserve to have this wonderful tool that's been provided to us. But the tears, frustration and insurance red tape games need to stop. It needs to stop!
