Yes, we were laughing all night about the "shit elves". Of course, when I talked to the charge nurse in SICU across the river later that night, and told her the story, she jokingly told me "Now Heather, we have already talked to you several times about shitting in the patients beds!" Ha ha, very funny!!!

Ok, I feel slightly better that I am not the only one in the world that carries on conversations with my dogs and translates for them. Of course, maybe we should not tell people about this because it is making us look a bit wacky. Oh, what the heck, everyone knows we are wacky anyway!!!:tt2:

I love that, the artist formerly known as Munchkin!! Waa haa haa!! We tease my oldest lab about that...we call him "The Dog In Black, formerly the dog known as Bailey". He just looks at us like we are in insane, which we clearly are. Smart dog! Hey, for all you dog lovers out there, I saw an article on MSN last night about a service dog trained to call 911 when his owner has seizures. So far he has dialed 911 3 times when his owner was seizing. He barks when the 911 dispatchers pick up. Is that cool or what? Brandy-my port hurts all the time. I always ask my fill doc when it will quit hurting and he says it may take up to a year. I think with mine it is just not in the best location for me-it happens to be exactly where I lean up against the bed rails at work, so every time I do that, it hurts all over again. Could it be something like that?

Well quit taking steroids to bulk up then, because that's what it is. Sheesh, I know you want to be all ripped and stuff, but really......:tt1: No seriously, have you had to take prednisone for anything? Prednisone is notorious for making you swell. And I eat a ton of protein but my protein labs are still always low it seems. It is always unfathomable to me since I eat so much of it.

Grrrr....why do I keep losing the posts I am writing? So frustrating! Busy, busy work weekend again. No cute 4 year old patients that wanted to give me cornrows, but I did have an adorable 98 year old man that I didn't think would make it through the night Friday. He was so much better by last night that he wouldn't sleep or be quiet all night! He kept having accidents in the bed, and he told me "Someone keeps shitting in my bed!" I about cracked up. Yep, that would be the shit elves! :tt1: They are the worst kind of elves!

Umm...where do I fit into Puff Mama and Heavy Double D? We need to add Munchkin in there somewhere....:tt1:

Mini-Have you been on any steroids? And have you had any labs checked lately? If you are low on protein it can cause you to "third space" fluid outside of the vascular space and into the tissues. It usually happens with elderly or sick people, but it did happen to one young girl I worked with on my old floor. She kept swelling and her albumin was low when they checked it. Once she corrected her eating it went away.

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I know realistically it is probably nothing, and I had it happen once before and it was fine. I just worry because of my family history. I have always kind of had the attitude of "when" not "if" I will get it. Which is probably bad, but....I seem to get everything my mom gets. But don't worry, I am not completely freaking out or anything. Time will tell. And I love you too Miss Dee!!

Darn it, I just wrote a huge post and it didn't post. Grrrrr..... Brandy-I wanted to offer you my condolences on the loss of your alphabet belching abilities. I had no idea you would be so sad about it. Mini-I am up one pound this week. I am totally ok with that since I lost 9 pounds in two weeks, and my crazy fill doctor was totally convinced that once he took out the 0.3 cc unfill I would immediately gain back 10 pounds. I have been able to keep solid food down and I haven't passed out, so one pound is a fair trade to me. Heck, 5 pounds would be a fair trade to me after the few weeks I had of feeling awful. Well, my gyne just called me. They saw a new and different spot on my mammogram. The wierd thing is, I just had this feeling they were going to. I think I have this mindset that everything bad has happened this year, so this would be the next thing. I am sure it is just a cyst, but I am going back next week for a spot compression. Now I will worry about it all weekend.:wink2:

Yeah, there is this really creepy teenager that lives across the street. He gives me the willies big time. He looks like one who would do something like that. He was outside when my parents came to let the dogs out when I was in Chicago a few weekends ago, and he gave them the willies also.

Oh, and BTW, my foot hurts worse than it has in weeks after getting the alcohol injection. So much for it feeling 50% better after the first shot. Sigh.....

It is beautiful...I almost had some of the lyrics to it added to my tat. I had a different poem added instead. (I think I forgot to tell you guys I had my tat finished last week). I will post a pic when I can get someone to take one! But really, I did consider it for my tat because I think it is so beautiful....
