  1. Me, me, me!! I'm schedule for Sept 2nd! I'm so excited! I was nevous for other appts but now I'm pretty calm, just marking every day off the calendar. I'm sure as it gets close, I will be out of my mind with nervousness. I'm happy that there are several of us going though this together. I wish you all the very best of luck! We need to stay in touch! Carol
  2. How exciting!! I'm scheduled for surgery on Sept 2nd and honestly, the process of getting approved wasn't too bad at all. I made my first appt to with my primary doctor mid May and he was the slowest to get things rolling. Once he sent my medical records over to the surgeon, things moved right along. Good luck! I hope things go smoothly for you! Carol
  3. Check out Isopure Zero Carb Protein drink. It's not a milky power, it's clear and thin and comes in a ton of flavors. You can drink it straight, with Water, tea, crystal light or whatever you choose. It's pure whey protein isolate so it's absorbed much better than whey concentrate. You can sip on this between meals. Check out their website and GNC and Amazon sells it. Good luck! Carol
  4. Thanks y'all and good luck to you! Carol
  5. is my sugery date!! I am so happy to finally get this date! Can I get a high-five?! Carol
  6. You may also have to experiment to find one you like better. I tried several and was only able to drink
  7. I'm sorry. I can see where that would be frustrating. I hope others with more experience will be able to help you find a solution. Maybe some of it's head-hunger? I'm sure you've already thought about that. Hang in there and come vent when you need to.
  8. Maybe give your NUT a call and let him/her help evaluate what/how much you are eating. I have a friend a month out and she was told she needed to eat more so that might be your case but it's best to let the experts help you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Best of luck to you! Carol
  9. Happy to hear your surgery went so well! Please keep us posted on how you are doing. I hope to be where you are in a couple of weeks. Here's to great success! Carol

  16. Hi Jenn! I'm in the beginning of the process too! I've completed my psych eval and the NUT visits and I go see the surgeon for the second time on Aug 13. I have my fingers crossed that I will get a surgery date then and that it will be sometime in August. This is a great site! There is so much support and information here. I'm so happy you reached out. I'd like to add you to my friend's list if that's okay! Best of luck, Carol

  19. What kind of pretein are you using. It seems that lots of folks have an issue with finding one or two they can tolerate. Glad you are feeling better! Carol
  20. I hope this is helpful. I have been preparing for surgery by trying different Proteins (lots of them) and was getting very frustrated because they were gross. Once I realized that the issue was the smell (for me) and not the taste so much, everything changed. If I put the Protein shake in a cup with a lid, I'm good! See if that might be your issue. I use
  21. So happy for you!! Congratulations! Carol
