Spaghetti Squash Pesto Casserole
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
ooooh, feta sounds good too! Let me know how it turns out. Last time I made it, I mixed some cheese in with the spaghetti squash and pesto, and some additional on top! It was very good. There are lots of additional things that could be done with this recipes. Sauteed onions and garlic would be good, or any other veggies you like could be thrown in. Have fun with it! -
Good luck, hope you get the job!!!

Yes, I agree too! America definitely had it right with the guys and I think they got it right with the girls. I thought Asiah and Kristy were pretty close to being even, so IMO, it could have been either one of them. Kady definitely needed to go. Was it just me, or did her whole song sound out of tune? I didn't like it at all. I think the guys and the girls are pretty equal too, it could be that we are just used to the girls having more talent, from previous years, and now we finally have a lot of majorly talented guys this year. I think we're just not used to the guys being as good. I really like Jason Castro, David Cook, Brooke White, and Amanda. Even though Brooke and Amanda are total opposites, I like them both, very unique.

Congratulations, Mia!!! YAY!!! :crying: That's great, I'll update your stats!!! To the rest of us, we still have time, WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?
georgia girl replied to kimmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad you like it! Is that the only flavor you bought? The bacon and cheese one is soooooo good, and I also like the mushroom & cheese one. The jalapeno and cheese is a little too hot for me, since we can't drink anything while eating. Thanks, I'll have to look again next time I go to Walmart. Thanks Grace! I appreciate the encouragement. When can you start adding in some mushy foods? You will feel a lot better when your doctor gives you the okay to eat mushies. However, I just now am starting to feel like I have some energy, due to the fact I started out so big and I also have hormone imbalances. You're going to do great! Despite your cravings for "real" food, you have chose to follow your doctor's instructions and you seem very motivated, so I'm sure you will do great! -
Soooooo, what did you guys think about the elimination? I think America got it right. I wasn't surprised by the 2 guys that were sent home. I was a little surprised by the girls. I kinda figured Kady was going, but it was really a toss up between Kristy and Asiah. I did feel bad for Asiah because I thought she did really good and I feel bad about what she's been through, just losing her father.

A Great Way to See Your Progress-BMI
georgia girl replied to Bergdorfblonde's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Whoa, I started out Superobese (54.9 BMI) and now I am on the lower end of Morbidlyobese (42.9 BMI). I still have a long way to go but it does help me realize how far I'm come when I look back at where I was. I'm going to be soooo excited when I'm just obese, then overweight, then NORMAL!!!! It's gonna be great!! -
pcos, banded in oct, and PREGNANT!!!!
georgia girl replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with that. I was still very overweight when I was pregnant and I only gained 20lbs and most of that was swelling and retaining Fluid. I was on bed-rest for the last month of my pregnancy because I was soooo swollen. I didn't have gestational diabetes, but I made sure I ate pretty healthy. My son was a healthy 8lbs. 2oz, so I agree, you don't have stuff yourself for the baby to get enough nutrients. -

georgia girl replied to bandster_1007's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations! How exciting! It just goes to show that weight loss can do wonders for us PCOSers. I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 8 yrs (I've had it for longer than that though). I lost a bunch of weight a few years ago doing the atkins diet. We had been trying for a long time previous to the weight loss. I lost a total of 50lbs and before I knew it, I was pregnant. I now have a 2 year old son. I know it had everything to do with losing weight. Congrats again and keep us posted on how you are doing! -

Hehehehe! No, I don't work there, but I wish I did, I might get a discount, lol! I absolutely love it, I usually have it about once every week or two. I don't know what the calorie/protein content it (I probably don't need to know or else I may have to stop eating it, lol). It's probably not the best for me, as far as nutritional content, but it's a nice treat when I can have it. It's one of those things that I loved pre-band and I still like to treat myself to it. Today: B'fast- low carb slim fast Lunch- low carb slim fast blended with ice and coffee Dinner- Spinach dip (store-bought, no Applebee's tonight ) with baked tortilla chips -
Congratulations!!!!! That's great! I'll update your stats for you!

Welcome Jonathan! Wow, looks like you are doing great with the weight loss, 100 lbs since December is awesome! Congrats, you're the first guy to join! Anyway, glad to have you in the group! -
Definitely a possibility. I noticed that on a couple of the girls critiques, they were just all over the place (mainly paula). I think that would upset me if I were a contestant. Also, the last girl that performed, they really didn't say hardly anything. Don't know if they were out of time or what, but I thought it was pretty rude, considering they rambled on and on for all the others.

Losing.........the difference is just UNREAL!!! I mean, you're still swollen, I can't even imagine what you'll look like when the swelling goes down. You look great in those jeans, I'm just sooooo proud of you! I think you have, by far, had the biggest transformation I've seen yet! Hang in there and take care. Give DH a big hug from me, he seems like he is soooo supportive of you. I'm just soooo happy for you right now, can you tell? -
I am eating it right now.....very good stuff! I used the canned low carb chocolate slim fast, a lot of ice, and just a little leftover coffee from this morning and ummmm, it's very good. I'm also eating it with a spoon, make me think I'm eating something bad.......but I'm not! Thanks for the idea!

I made an almond snack today that was really good, so I thought I would share it you all. You could also use walnuts or pecans too! 1 oz. almonds, walnuts, or pecans (I roughly chopped them) I can't believe it's not butter spray 1 tsp. any sugar free flavored coffee mate powder (I used vanilla caramel) OR if you are not a fan of coffee mate powder, use some cinnamon and splenda instead I just sprayed some of the butter flavored spray in a pan and melt it down a little over low heat. Add chopped almonds, stirring to coat. If it looks too dry you can spray in more butter spray. Let it cook for just a minute and then add the coffee mate powder (or the splenda and cinnamon) and stir it together really good. Cook it for a couple more minutes, being careful not to scorch the nuts. It puts a nice little sweet tasting coating on them.

Thanks, I was just curious. I really do need to weigh myself less than I do now. I may start by just cutting it down to 3 times a week, then progressing slowly to once. Wow, I sound like an addict, lol!

Thanks, I think I might try one as a late lunch today! I'll let you know how it taste.

Nip I just noticed that you've lost 80lbs! That's AMAZING! You are doing so great, you're going to be at goal in no time. Do you lose in spurts? I ALWAYS lose in spurts. I was losing almost a pound a day all throughout last week, then this week........nothing. But I always lose this way, I just hope I don't plateau for very long. -

ParaGirl Sorry you are having a bad morning . Days like this can make us go crazy with food. Just take a deep breath, regroup and calm down. Do you have any period of time that you are not with the kids, like a recess or something? Not sure how it works with kindergarten. If possible, try to get away for at least a few minutes just to regroup. Sorry I'm not much help, but I hope your day gets better. The exercise may work to your favor, it can be a stress reliever. As for the church member that heard you say that "not so nice" word, that would be pretty embarrassing, but I would hope that the person realizes that NO ONE is perfect and EVERYONE slips from time to time. Just shake it off and try to have the best day you possibly can. Hope it gets better!
