Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I am feeling better today. I've decided to do sort of a "detox". I am going to do low carb Protein shakes for a couple of days. I am in no way suggesting this is the way to eat, but I did this a few months ago and it really helped me get past the cravings. Bamboobabe, you are right. I know I am a bit of a perfectionist, but I can say it has gotten a lot better than it used to be. I honestly don't know what I would do without the support of everyone here. Thanks again! -

Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
georgia girl replied to renewedhope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am only doing shakes with the exception of tomorrow night. I'll probably do this for 3-4 days, then start eating solid food again. I'm having major sugar cravings and this worked pretty good last time, so I'll give it another try. -
Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me
georgia girl replied to renewedhope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know this thread has been inactive for a while, but I am going to do the shake challenge again. I've been having a really hard time with the cravings lately, so I need a detox. I'm starting today if anyone wants to join me. I'll have to eat tomorrow night because some friends of ours invited us over for chili, and I think it would be rude not to eat. So, I will do shakes and water today and tomorrow and have a small bowl of chili tomorrow night, then it's back to shakes. Anyone want to join me? -
Congrats on your weight loss Renewed and Darr!!!! Sorry you guys are sick and hope you both feel better soon!!

Any good cottage cheese flavorings?
georgia girl replied to foxboro jim's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Okay, if you are looking for a savory way to fix cottage cheese, I made a good one today. I melted 1 wedge of light laughing cow garlic herb cheese in the microwave for about 25 seconds. Added 1/2c. cottage cheese, 1 tsp. of pesto, and 2-3 tbsp of spaghetti sauce and mixed it well. It was really good. It kind of taste like the filling in lasagna! -

Zippykat, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. You seem like a very strong person and I'm so glad you are starting to feel better about yourself. 63 lbs is AMAZING!!! Thanks for sharing your story, you never know who has gone through the same thing, and reading your story could help someone else. God bless! -

I really haven't been posting on this thread as much because I didn't want to be a downer, but I've been having a really hard time this past week. I've been snacking at night a lot and just not sticking to the plan very well. Tonight I had a huge brownie and ice cream and I just feel sick about it. I know I can't eat perfect all the time, but I just feel bad about it. It's my TOM and I always have severe cravings during this time. I'm usually pretty good at handling the cravings, but not this time. I didn't want to post this because I see it as weakness for some reason. I don't see it as weakness in other people when someone else post they are having a hard time, just when it's me. I'm not sure if this makes sense to anyone, it's hard to explain. I hate feeling this way. I feel like a complete failure this week, I've actually gained a couple of pounds. I'm just mad at myself for not being stronger. Sorry to be a downer, but thanks for listening. On a happier note, I did go shopping over the weekend and had a pretty good experience. I've gone from a very tight 26/28 to a comfortable 22, so I was happy about that. -

Brina, I know how you feel. I am certain I am going to need PS. I mean, I've got almost 200lbs to lose:eek:. It is scary, but I would much rather be healthy and have loose skin, than be unhealthy and have fat rolls everywhere, lol. I pretty much told DH that we better start saving now, because I'm definitely gonna need it! I had this surgery for health reasons, first and foremost, but I'm still young and I think the PS is going to be necessary for me to completely feel good about myself. I plan on getting the works........a LBL, breast reduction and/or a breast lift, and a brach. It scares me to death, but I'm pretty sure I'll end up having it done. Oh, at church tonight, we had a speaker who had gastric bypass surgery. He was 454lbs when he had the surgery and now he weighs 175lbs. Looking at him, you would never know he was overweight. He told us that he did NOT have PS, but he didn't have a lot of extra skin. I just can't imagine losing 275lbs and not having a lot of extra skin. I wanted to sit down and talk with him and ask him what exercises he did, but there were so many people around, I couldn't get him away to talk about it. I mean, I can look at myself now and I already know I'm going to need PS, but it was an inspiration to see someone lose that much weight and not need PS. I think sometimes men carry their weight differently than women, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. I guess I'll cross that path when it comes. Until then, I'm going to focus on getting healthy. Everyone is doing a great job, keep up the good work!! -

I am staying on plan today because I went shopping last night and I actually had a good time. I was able to try on clothes without crying, lol! It felt good and motivates me to try to fit in smaller sizes next time I go. -
Just banded on 3/5/08 and not hungry
georgia girl replied to Beccach's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes, that is normal. It was quite a while before I was hungry. Even though you don't have a fill yet, you're still swollen from surgery. Once your swelling goes down, you'll be able to tell a difference and you may begin to feel a little hungry. Congrats on your surgery and good luck! -
oooooh, orange cream sounds good, I'll have to look for that one! I tried the chocolate and it's really good.

Hehehehe! I looked it up on the net and found an article that said it was an Urban legend name. But, it also said that the Shithead and Male and Female ones were too! Someone else mentioned that they had students named that, so who knows? Anyway, I thought it was quite comical. Here's the link Pregnancy & Parenting: Name News

You mean there's no sewer crocs, lol? I am a little gullible, but all I can tell you is, that is what she told me. It didn't sound like a joke when she said it, ::shrugs shoulders::
