  8. I see so many successful stories of people losing even 50-100 lbs in the firs 6 months. Now since my surgery date is in December I want to know How you did it ? what routine did you do or try to do that you would recommend for us to do?? I know lots of people say exercise and try to get the Protein down but since so many of you have gone through and have had lots of success I would like your opinion or just describe what you felt worked for you. Can't wait to see some of the replies.
  9. Thanks you to all. This is a great present for me, My new beginning to the healthier me.
  10. Thank you and will have you in my prayers. Wishing you all the best and a call with your date soon.
  11. Thank you and timetochange1621 good luck on your journey best wishes. And Trever930 congratulations on all you have accomplished and will continue to do in your journey.
  12. I'm excited, nervous, anxious and proud of myself. Now I finally have my date to the new me. December 17th. Now leaving everything in God's hands so there is no change to this date and for all to go well.
  13. Once you receive your date it's that your insurance approved it correct
  14. So finally I have done everything through my the Weight center and met with my surgeon for the first time. We agreed on what surgery is good for me and I was sent to do a chest x-ray, labs and EKG. Did everything on my end. Results should be in and now I have to wait. I am not the most patient person in the world and waiting is not one of my strong suits. But I have no choice. Since everything was originally done last week the surgeon's office should be submitting sometime this week. Then by next week I can begin to call the insurance and see what is going on. Hope time flies just want to know
  15. I'm excited I have done the whole weight loss program and now finally get to go meet who will be my surgeon. For those who are not from Worcester, MA or have gone to different programs. In UMASS in Worcester you do your orientation, then intake followed by nutritionist visits ( I had 3) and Psych visit ( lucky for me only needed 1) and then your group meetings which here are 2 meetings. And in between all of this you are to go do any other requirements you were asked to do ( sleep apnea test, ekg, etc). After all of this then the weight center signs off and you will get a call from your surgeons office to do the first appointment with them. Which for me is today! YAY. I'm excited, anxious and hope that he agrees with all that I have done and feels that we can submit so soon I may get my surgery date because I want to start the new me as soon as possible. I have worked hard towards it and feel that I deserve to be a healthier me. Can't wait to see what happens. Wishing and praying for the best. Always positive. And just for an FYI. To all who have been posting your stories on here and have gone through the procedure and are going to go through the journey. Best of luck you all are inspiring many of us and helping us to continue forward with our own journeys and demonstrating that obstacles may come but in the end a healthier us will happen if we continue to push and move forward. Thanks for the motivation.
  16. LOL. Too Funny. But after you have done everything and worked hard to get an approval. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  17. Congratulations. I am so happy for you that you were able to get the will power and strength to do this for you. You are an inspiration to many especially anyone who is having marital problems and is unsure that they can do this with out the support of their spouse. May God bless you always and may you continue to have more strength with everyday that passes.
  18. Thanks Joy59. I have done the Psyc. Eval and have seen the nutritionist twice. I have the nutrition group meeting at the end of this month and then the medical group meeting talking about all the procedures beginning of next month. I already seen the Doctor in charge at the weight center and was told that she has no concerns on me continuing for the bypass and that the surgeon will speak to me at a later date about his recommendations for which surgery he feels may be right for me. I was only told to have blood work and to begin on a birth control to help regulate my cycle. But nothing else since. I have lost some weight since beginning the steps toward WLS. But that's it. I hope im close to the end and not that I still have tests and stuff to go.
  19. Thank you for your input. I know that nothing is guaranteed but at least I get opinions from people who have knowledge about the steps in this procedure than by just guessing or guesses from those who don't know . Thank you.
  20. Thanks. I know it will all be worth it in the end. But just want to know what I should keep in mind and expect. Congratulations on you WLS glad everything is going good for you all.
  21. I am almost done my classes and then will see the surgeon. Now I have heard and read that many people were sent to do extra studies. So my question is will the surgeon send me for extra studies or will that have happened by now ????? Please let me know. Thanks
  22. I am still in the process for my WLS . Do I need to have a surgery date to be able to apply for the shakes ???
  23. Hi Ke-Sa I am from Worcester too. I am still pre-op and only have two more classes before meeting with the surgeon. Where did you have your surgery ? I have been looking for people from Worcester who have had it done so I can find out things from my area how it is.
  24. Thank you so much. Just wanted to know what's expected to happen moving forward.
  25. I have a question. After bypass or any WLS are many people noticing a huge amount of excess skin ? If so what are the options and if not what have you done ???
