  1. Score! I bought a tube of dill paste from the fridge section near the vegetables. I squeezed some into greek yogurt, added 1 ounce of soy milk, and it made an incredible side to go with my dinner! Will work for fish, tuna, hard boiled eggs, etc. Makes a great helper for chewing.
Today I ate Shwarma (chicken thighs) 3 oz @ 16g
Greek Yogurt with Dill 1 oz @ 3g
    Vegetarian Moussaka.

    19g Mediterranean Feast!

-- Although I am in the purees stage, I can no longer eat that texture. I will gag and starve. So I sad for an hour and chewed responsibly, and I got this meal in. Hurray.

  2. Although I am in the pureed stages now, I am able to eat these because as soon as I chew it once, it turns to puree. <--chew with discretion, know yourself!

    Directions:
Place a sheet of parchment paper on a large oven pan. tear/cut cheese into postage-stamp size pieces and space them at least an inch apart on the parchment paper. Add your favorite spices (black pepper, chopped onions, olives) and bake on 450 for less than five minutes.
Check every minute to see when it puffs up. The moment it does, it will turn brown in the next minute. Grab it and place it in the fridge to cool and preserve the 'bubble'. When it settles, it will be crispy.
Store in the fridge or in the freezer in ziploc bags for a quick snack. It will defrost in less than an hour for traveling Protein.

  3. Well, I did a six week pre-op diet and reached the required weight loss after three weeks. I was then cleared for surgery. What haunts me is that I starved myself (painfully!) while waiting for the surgery, when I could've bid farewell to some sporadic unwise choices, just for old times sakes.

  4. Thursday I was two weeks post op, and had totaled to 19 lbs since the surgery. It feels so slow and painstaking, but upon reflection, it does add up to more than a pound a day. In my previous life, if I lost a pound after one week of weight watchers, I was ecstatic. So when you put the two lifestyles side by side, there is no way one can become sad about this new version.

  5. I cooked before my surgery and prepared many 2 oz food portions in advance. I ate my special "chicken zucchini souffle" many times, but today my body was not happy. I wonder if it was underlying anxiety just making me reject anything (I did wake up without an appetite). I wonder though if the vengeance that it passed with... if that is considered dumping? Or is dumping only for fat and sugar? I'm so confused. I don't know this body yet!

  6. Last night I finally went out for the first time, and was to play a game with some friends. We laughed so so hard, for so many hours. I did clutch a pillow the entire time, but boy am I sore there. It feels like I delivered a cow between two of the incisions. Two of them had WLS and assured me that I will NOT pop a staple from laughing. Scary stuff.
