  5. Sorry about my euphoria, but it's day 5 and I can see past my tummy and see my weight! A definite milestone since puberty! I can't believe how pounds are just 'melting'. I went to sleep last night and woke up this morning weighing four pounds less. It seems like a giant lie,. Somebody pinch me. Um, actually, no, I'm still sore :-)
  6. I was just cleared for pureed today at my one week visit. I’m eating chicken zucchini souffle and hummus, and I’m in heaven right now. I was also told that me pre-op cooking frenzy of various 2 oz. portions of protein-packed foods will be enough protein to satisfy the 60 grams a day. I will not have to supplement with protein shakes. How intensely exciting is that? Planning, shopping, cooking, measuring, and freezing... SO WORTH IT!

  17. I already packed a bag, and no store wants it. So silly. I have to go out and check on shipping. Where should I start?
  18. I just wana check in to see if this is normal. When I am working to get in some chicken puree or fish puree, the dry foods will cause me to have extreme chest tightness and pure agony. I have to stand up and stretch, pound my chest, bend, and move until it calms down, about ten minutes. In a way, I wish it would just come up rather than explode my body from within. Is this a normal sensation when eating a food that needs extra work to get down? (Like adding a dressing)

    I was meeting a new primary care doctor for the first time and he said, "You? You don't need blood pressure pills. Look what you look like! Lose a hundred pounds and come back in six months, all your problems will be gone". I got angry and responded "I came her for medical care, not for personal training" and left in a huff. I tried filing a complaint but was told I had no 'proof'.

    High Protein, Low Carb Piña Colada Yogurt

    I've frozen crushed pineapple in ice cube trays, hoping to use it for Protein shakes. turns out that I cannot stand any of the fake coconut flavorings. The flakes do not puree in the blender. Any suggestions?
  23. Important: Freeze leftover on tray, then store in a container. They will not stick together than way.

    Divorce

    For me, aborting the marriage came before college. Next, I graduated with two degrees, got accepted into a graduate program, and then crammed in RNY just in time to recover before starting school again. As I get closer to forty, I thank God every day for guiding me into a place of strength and progress through these empowering moments. One important lesson I learned - do not share, isolate, and you will find strength from within, away from the toxic judgmental gossipers. Surround yourself by inner peace.
