    Fibromyalgia and the sleeve.....

I had trouble sleeping as well because I wasn't taking my Cymbalta/Tryptizol and opened the capsule and took the inside and that didn't help either. I started taking pills a couple days out of surgery because taking other medication crushed would make me gag. Honestly it got better but I'm having another flare up again (then again it might be jet lag because I just travelled). Also using like icy hot/ben gay on the areas that ached a lot helped. When I couldn't sleep, I was taking children's benadryl because I couldn't sleep a few days out of surgery. Hope that helps some

    When is safe to drive?

I drove after 2 weeks. Before that any bumps in the road made me uncomfy and hurt. I could wear a seatbelt and drive properly so wait until you can get in/out of a car.
  4. So I'm back on track now. Been adding Benefiber to my shakes and have been going to the bathroom. I guess it was some kind of stall lol
  5. So I know I shouldn't be checking my weight everyday but I can't help it! Just the past few days my scale is showing me a higher number then what I was after I ended stage 1 liquid diet (Monday). Is this like the 3 week stall but earlier? Also, I'm always hungry...been drinking Water and etc. and having my Protein shakes as well. I take a PPI as well...what gives? Will my sleeve be more restricting when I move to the pureed/mashed stage? Sorry for all the questions...just bumming out a bit here b/c I've also had to adjust my insulin a lot and wondering if that's the culprit

    Post-op type 1s?

I spoke to my PCP and he's sending me to a Bariatric doctor for follow up (got surgery in Mexico) and I'm going to see my endo soon. I've had more highs then lows. It's weird. If I follow what the carb amount is on a label, I go up to 200s. I have to bolus extra and I'm fine. I switched the carb ratio so hopefully that'll help. I'm still taking 1 glucophage pill a day and have cut down in daily intake of insulin.

    1 MONTH OUT!

I'm a month out and can have salad but with dressing on the side. And obviously no croutons lol I'm not having tomatoes though. I chew really slowly as well.
  8. I'm 4 weeks post op and feel like I'm always hungry and eating! I've been seeing people post that they can't eat more then 1/2 a Protein bar and I can finish one in a sitting. I'm getting all my protein in, still need to work on adding more water/liquids though. I've started adding normal food as well and measuring it and measure out 1-2 oz and I'm still hungry so I take out another ounce or so. Is this normal? I've emailed my NUT and she said it's fine. Been tracking my calories and it varies day to day. Yesterday ate a lot...I just don't get it? I do have diabetes type 1, so my insulin and blood sugars are still a bit difficult to get under control. I've lost 13 lbs. so far. Any advice/feedback or suggestions? I am a bit worried now. Thanks!

    Eating too much?

Yes, I am taking Omeprazol 40 mg. When I feel like it's head hunger, I have Water. But eat when I feel hungry. Maybe I need to switch to a different antacid. thanks
  10. Okay so my period is over a week late...and I've been at the same weight for over a week (3 weeks post op). Would not getting my period maybe the reason why I'm not losing weight? I'm getting enough Protein, Vitamins, Water, and etc. Sigh...can't live without a period and can't live with either lol
  11. Oooh I'd love to take some off your hands! I just bought a box from costco last week! I'm near OC, but considered in LA county. I can maybe meet you somewhere? Please let me know!! Thanks!
  12. LOL ticked off is putting it lightly eh? I've been tracking my calories as well, emailed the NUT today and she said don't worry about it. Thanks for the feedback everyone! Just going to try to be patient (and hoping the sleeve does work for me) lol
  13. Unfortunately my pain hasn't gone away. Still taking my pain meds. I've stopped taking glucophage but I might need to go back on it. Not sure ???? glad your off of the meds though.

    ACNE AFTER SURGERY

Makes sense b/c I've been breaking out really bad as well and still haven't gotten my period this week :/ hopefully it'll come back soon

    Peanut Butter Cup Protein Shake

Great, thanks for the clarification macman!!

    Peanut Butter Cup Protein Shake

Can we use PB2 mixed w/ Protein shakes if we're in stage 2/full liquids? I just started adding 1/2 of a banana to a shake and that was fine, but just wondering about the PB2.
  17. I had to do then for 6 days and it burned. I did it on my legs and ended up bruising myself. Better to do under belly button. Good luck!
  18. OMG...I just started on stage 2 of full liquids and opened a can of premier Protein shake and only took out 1/2 the can. It's taking me forever to finish it!! I'm assuming this is normal.....in comparison when I'm drinking Powerade Zero or Crystal light, it's a lot easier. And my goodness this shake is sweet!! (chocolate) :/ I think my tastebuds have changed as well. Nothing tastes good (which might be a good thing lol) I've been working on this for 1/2 hour it'll probably take me an hour. Please tell me it gets better as the weeks go on? *sigh*
  19. That's a great idea!! I'll do that tomorrow with the next can Didn't even think of diluting it a bit lol
  20. Random question, but it's okay to add fruit to Protein shakes in the full liquids diet (like week 2)? And Peanut Butter as well? Just wondering.
  21. My NUT told me after a month. Was speaking to a doctor (not my surgeon, but a general physician) and he said that I should at least start a Multivitamin right now and start taking B12 in a month so I won't be deficient at a month. I'm just curious to hear when you started yours? Thanks
  22. No worries. It's all good
  23. My doctor/NUT told me to open capsules and mix with Water. The other medicine I have to crush and take it. The one I have to crush (Levofloxacin) is the MOST DISGUSTING thing that I have had in my life. I've mixed it with SF Jello, Powerade, broth...and I want to throw up and have this nasty taste in my mouth for hours! I read online to sandwich it between applesauce or mix with cool whip but I can't because I'm only 5 days post op and still on liquids. I know it comes in a liquid form but I can't get it here (no insurance, went to TJ for surgery) so I'm SOL. :/ Do you guys crush or open capsules or just swallow it whole with some water? Or any other advice? I kinda just want to stop taking the Levofloxacin :x TIA!!

    Diabetes anyone?

So I got sleeved on 7/5. Type 1 diabetic and I stopped taking victoza and glucophage right after surgery. Cut down my basal as well on my pump. Went from 23 units a day to 16 units. Still adjusting it daily though but blood sugars have been fantastic. Then again I'm still on my liquid diet so haven't had to bolus at all.

    Pills...crush or just swallow?

Thanks bittersweet!! I started doing that and makes the tablet SO much more tolerable!! ????
