  1. I am still having some "discomfort" on my left side, but other than that, I haven't had any other complications. I don't ever have the burping which is good and bad I guess. I go for my 1 week check-up tomorrow. I am excited to see how much I have lost since last week.

  2. I have been having some weird pains too, but not where you are cQQlgirl. I guess I just figure it is part of the whole process of healing. I know that they coterized (sp?) inside us, so maybe it is pulling on those areas when we move weird or sit weird. Don't know....just wondering. I have really been trying not to take pain meds. but do take some at night. Good luck and I hope you feel better.

  3. Hi all....

Day 4 for me and I am sooo much better. Actually, the turning point for me was yesterday afternoon. I still have some gas pain, but moving and walking help a lot. I am so happy to move on to full liquids, enough already of the clears! Cream Soup and sugar free/fat free ice cream have tasted great. I also do like the Special K Protien drink. My DH and I are traveling to Colorado this afternoon for a quick business/family get together. I am kind of nervous about the travel (6 1/2 hrs) and the eating out part of the weekend, but will do my best to stick to the rules. I am so very happy to be banded and now that the worst is over, Life is Good!

    Hugs---Jackie

  4. I was also banded on the 15th. So glad it is over and now it's time to get on with my life!! I still have a little shoulder pain and some gas, but over all am feeling much better today. Would love to hear from others who were banded on the 15th.

  5. Hi All...

I was banded on Monday the 15th. I have been having a lot of trouble with gas. I can't figure out if it is from the gas they injected or the fact that I haven't eaten anything solid for two weeks. When I get up and move around, it helps alot, but then come right back when I sit down. I feel like I can feel the lap band.....do I?????? The pain is pretty much what I expected and am not on any pain meds. I am so happy to be on this side of the banding process!

    Hugs!

  6. Good luck tomorrow CQQlgirl! I have done fairly good on the pre-op liquid diet. Today is hard because I can ONLY have Clear liquids. I am so ready to chew, chew, chew!! :Banane10: So far I have lost 11 lbs. as of today. I agree with you...the thought of more liquid dieting after tomorrow is depressing! But, it will so be worth it. Yes, God will see us through this....he always has a plan for us and we just need to have faith.

BTW...what is a body bugg??? And where did you get it??

    Hugs--Jackie

  7. Well said Topdownbug!! This journey is not easy. I want to shout that to everyone who thinks it is the easy way out! I get banded tomorrow. :clap2: I am thrilled, nervous, thinking...what am I doing, etc. But I am determined to go through with this. The most scarey thing is the total life change this will be. :nervous food impacts a large part of our lives, and now it won't be. How strange. I think I have everything ready for the big day. This morning I shaved my armpits and legs!! :Banane10: Good luck to all 15th bandsters. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow.

    :Banane10: Hugs---Fluffinks

  8. Here goes for me!! My name is Jackie and I live in Hutchinson, Ks. I have been married almost for 30 years and I am almost 50! (Yikes!) I am 5'5" and starting weight is 243. My husband and I love to travel :) which we do as often as we can. (I can't wait to wear the "cute" clothes when we go!) We have 3 grown children: a daughter who is 27 and not married but looking, a daughter who is 24 who is married to the most wonderful guy, and a son (22) who is a Sr. at KU! :whoo: I love to read, quilt, visit my kids and go boating with my dear husband. We have a boat and a cabin at Table Rock Lake in Mo. where we spend a lot of our time. I do not like to exercise :) but know that it is important. As soon as I figure out how to send a picture, I will make sure to send one! :faint: Haha! Thanks for starting this thread and especially all those pictures. It makes everyone seem more real.

  9. Thanks Holly for the tips! I have weined myself off of diet coke. Gone from 5-6 a day to maybe one. Your daughter sounds just like mine!! Both my daughters are just waiting for me to throw in the towel and give up Water and start drinking dt. coke again. (I have been a dt. coke addict all their lives and they are in their 20's!!) I may get the mints and have them on hand on the 15th. Where did you buy them?

    Hugs,

    Jackie

  10. Hi all...I am getting banded on the 15th. I would love to hear from everyone who also has that date. Are you getting nervous, excited, second thoughts??? Let's use the next few days to help each other get through to "the other side"!! :rainbow:

I am so excited. I just can't wait and am a little envious of the bandsters in Oct. who have gone before me. I can't wait to join their group!!

    Hugs :kiss

  11. I think we all feel the same!!! I am mourning Wendy's chicken sandwiches. I just realized today that I may never have another sandwich again in my life. (Do they have Wendy's, McDonald's, etc. in heaven???? :) ) I had a dream about pecan pie last night!! How funny! WE CAN DO THIS!

  12. Topdownbus, I have had headaches when I wake up only. I grab a couple Advil and a cup of apple juice and I am good to go.

Yeah for me....I went to the movie today with my daughter and I didn't have any popcorn (my favorite!) I was so proud of myself, even though I did think about it all through the movie.

This is no fun, but will be well worth it. Stick with it all liquid-dieters. We can do this!
