BMI has passed below 30. I am no longer obese, but I am overweight.

Im VERY discourged right now! Iwas told by my Dr that i need to be down 12-20 pounds before my surgery and Im only down 10. His asst has told me that he is known for postponing surgeries if the required weight isnt off. Not to mention my surgery date is Wed. 31st and i ran outta protien shake and went and bought isopure and it is GROSSSSSSS. Cant even stomach the smell. I dont know what to do. Maybe stressing will cause the weight to fall off !! Any suggestions?? Oh, also bought a whey protien and its way too sweet! Feel like im wasting money, and the shake from my dr is 65.00

In my opinion, your doctor is here to support you, not discourage you. I lost only a few pounds before starting the pre-op diet. My doctor told me there is no medical data to support the need for loss. This barrier should be from the insurance company, not your doctor. My doctor is here in Houston at University of Texas Phyiscians, if you are interested to change doctors.
