  1. Shooting it straight Bro, if I could've not had it, I would've picked that option. More annoying than painful. Just the stinging as mentioned. They do put it in while you're out..but you'll know its there when you get back to your room from surgery. My nurse seemed to enjoy the fact that I didn't like it. She told me I was an ornery patient..& threatened to "pull the junk cord" if I didn't get it together! It was a PITA, but I made the best of it.
  2. I think when this is actually THE GUY'S ROOM, men can have these important talks. THE GUY'S ROOM: Where the fellas go to talk about our junk!!
  3. Congrats!!!!! Feels really good to hit the milestones! That's definitely one I'm looking forward to seeing!!
  4. I'm now LMAO! I'm with ya kbuska!! I was thinking the same thing. I got shafted!!!! I do have to say it is certainly a performance difference. I mean less weight...more exercise...I can definitely do it multiple times a day now which there was no chance in woohoo of that happening pre-op. Morning wood comes and goes but the wood shed is certainly full more often. Wife just got sleeved last week so she's got me on standby. Feel like a raging bull!! Lol!!
  5. Congrats Shace & nymetzfan! I was unsure too at first. It is definitely the best investment I've made in my self. Had Sleeve 9/16 and down 64 lbs. It was rough in the beginning, but thanks to the guys here it really helped! (Special recognition to Recycled who tossed me a snickers so I could snap back from turning into Betty White durning the liquid diet!!! ). Advise is make sure you follow your nutrition requirements...especially the vitamins! I didn't and ended up in Emergency getting IV fluids at 4 weeks post op. I take a little Iron on the side of my other Vitamins and now I'm feeling much better. Welcome aboard!!!!
  6. Had several food funerals! Had a checklist of foods to feast on before pre-liquid diet! Accomplished most of them. Didn't really gain anything since I did exercise while splurging...but I'm not even interested in some of those foods now! Completely normal.
  7. It was in the beginning but at almost 5 weeks out I think it's gotten a lot easier. I try to get 64oz of fluids per day. I think I probably get closer to 80 though. No hunger. That part blows my mind. Guys on here have said this though. I just thought..."Yeah right..I'll be hungry!" Nope. Guys were spot on! I really have to remind myself to eat. Since the surgery eliminates the area in the stomach generating all the hunger sensations...you really won't feel hungry!
  8. Yep, down 56 lbs since starting Pre-Op diet on Sept 2nd Bro!. It hasn't been easy though. I'm finally able to get up and down and sit for longer periods without pain. My biggest challenge so far is getting protein in and getting some energy. I have to force myself back to doing some cardio so I can get back in the game. Feels like catch 22: no energy tough to exercise; no exercise = limited energy!
  9. I'm losing weight and the Royals are in the World Series after 29 Year Drought! What a great 2014!!!
  10. Double Congrats! Baby+Weight Loss! Wifey had a tubal after last child (which was a surprise child 4 us). Otherwise, she would definitely be pregnant by now with my post-op benefit package kicking in!!!!
  11. Yep, they sucked. Definitely something to be aware of before surgery! Thankfully no post op hiccups for me
  12. Thanks Taylorj7! #38&LIGHTER
  13. Thanks All! @ Mike: yes I did! I think it will end up being my best gift ever!
  14. Well....let's keep party started!!! I can't wait to get farther out. I am 17 days out..down 20 lbs since 9/16 surgery and down 37 lbs since liquid diet started on 9/2. At 394..sex was a chore. Erections were what they were. Mostly on, but not extra strength, and sometimes on light duty. After 2 weeks I'm already seeing the future and I love it!!!! Our sex life just woke up. Have been having sex all week! Yesterday was my 38th birthday and I definitely celebrated last night!! The bell was rang for sure! This morning the wood shed was stacked today, and for me to have sex twice within 8 hours doesn't happen! We were lucky to not wake kids up because I had to burn wood! Definitely no erection problems and my wife hasn't had back to back "Big O" forever. I laughed at her and told her I had forewarned her that she was getting a upgrade with this surgery! Husband now has a Hemi starting to rev under the hood. Full toon up in progress..and once it's done..we will be taking a LONG SEXCATION to a secluded island!!!!!!
  15. Woohooooo!!!!
  16. Congrats on the date Mike! Not sure if you have a 2 week pre-liquid diet...but if so Nov 26 will be here before you know it! My main regret right now is not working out enough before surgery. I would have liked to have lost 20 lbs before starting liquid diet.
  17. Congrats on the date Mike! Not sure if you have a 2 week pre-liquid diet...but if so Nov 26 will be here before you know it! My main regret right now is not working out enough before surgery. I would have liked to have lost 20 lbs before starting liquid diet.
  18. I'm stalling right now!!! Lost 2 lbs this entire week. I was upset...but just went ahead and worked out this morning and I will keep it moving! I'm down 36lbs in last 4 weeks. Just focusing on my goal target for month 2, October. Hopefully weight will start to come off again soon.
  19. Yeah...I am down 35 lbs since I started liquid diet on Sept 2. I was sleeved on Sept 16. I had lost 16 lbs before surgery and 19 lbs after surgery. The last 4 days I've gained two lbs..so I have just decided not to take it so seriously. There will be Ebs and flows...but it will come off. I still sometimes check it daily, but evaluate it weekly.
  20. LETS GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
  21. It is frustrating Mike. I agree if you have the best surgeon just stick it out and wait for the call Bro. I say just think of Nov 5 as your date to keep your sanity! It sucks cause you want a firm date, but like I said before, the date you have is likely in the ballpark. Work on getting your pre-liquid diet supplies together. Find your protein shake, multi vitamin, favorite jello, etc. They'll firm up your date soon!
  22. Macman knows how to have a true food funeral!! Lol!! I'm in KC, and made my fair amount of trips to Gates and Jack Stack before I closed the coffin lid! I am a realist and am keeping my goal in sight. I'm exceeding more. I have learned to have a bite of something (even though I'm 12 days post op) and be finished versus eating more than I should. Less frequency and in moderation are my guidelines.
  23. Here Here!!! Hats off to Poginut who has hopefully joined the Sleevehood! Hope all went well for you today!
