  1. OK So my surgery is Tue. 17th and its time for me to start my liquid diet. But I have diabetes and I take meds. So how do I keep my blood sugar from dropping without eating! They nurse told me to watch my blood sugar and if it drops to low to lower my Metformin but she didn't say anything about my Glyburide! I pretty much have to eat every 2 hours to keep my Glyburide from dropping my blood sugar to low and I only take half now. I put a call in to ask the NUT. but haven't received a call back!

  2. OK so my kids say I need to make a list so here it goes!

    1. No more diabetes medication!

    2. Shop in the Regular Sizes!!! No more PLUS SIZE section of the store ( that only carries OLD LADY looking clothes)

    3. Walking in my workout pants without being embarrassed.

    4. Cheering on my kids during sports and other things without feeling like I am going to pass out!

    5. Feeling like eye candy for my ever so sexy husband and better sex of course.

    6. The thigh chaffing thing defiantly I have given many pairs of my favorite jeans to the hole in the thigh fairies.

    7. Not feeling so out of shape at work. Chasing special ed. preschoolers is hard work.

    8. BETTER SLEEPING! Rolling over should be an Olympic sport.

    9. Just keeping up with the rest of the world. No one wants to be the one that says you go ahead. I will catch up later.

    10. PRIDE! This is one thing that has been such a struggle for me and I WILL BE ABLE TO SAY I DID IT!!!

  3. @ loveskinnyme, thanks for posting about the quit smoking app....I quit April 8 last year.......so according to the app I've saved $1676.04....now that is motivating.

I start liquids June 10...I'm guessing I'm going to get the headache about 3 days in, since I have every other time I've gone no carbs....it's encouraging to know it gets better and it's doable. I sort of feel like my life depends on me doing what I'm suppose to....now if that doesn't motivate...nothing will.

I dont know how I'm going to handle this! I have diabetes and have had to eat eat eat constantly with my meds to keep my blood sugar level, soon it will be don't eat don't eat haha what a yoyo ride

  4. I have the same problem. When I tell people how much I weigh, currently 280, they don't believe me. I'm five foot nine inches and my weight is equally distributed. I've actually stopped telling people about my surgery because almost everyone says that I don't need it. It's frustrating as hell!! Yes I'm tall and carry my weight well, but I'm still 140 pounds away from where I want to be. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and have chronic pain and my BMI is 42, I more than qualify for surgery. So all the negative nellies have been told to get off my back, it's MY life. And I'm only surrounding myself with understanding people who love me, skinny or fat.

Meeee Toooo 270 here and have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic pain! Ready to do this! Whether people think i should or not! I want to be healthy!

  5. My Dr. recommends fusion Vitamins. I would have to chew up 4 of this BIG vitamins a day! They gave me some samples and I could barely get one down. The advantage to these is that they have EVERYTHING you need after surgery. They have Calcium, B12, Biotin, Vitamin D, Iron, Zinc, and SO ON!!! So you only have to take these and nothing else. But if I can get them down then they are of no good to me. They are about $25 dollars a month that seems to be a pretty good price if you start adding buying them separately. I have looked into some other Vitamin completes but they all seem to be missing something that you will have to purchase. So I guess basically I was just wondering what everyone else does?

  6. I just started this journey a month ago and already have a June 17th surgery date. This is going so fast and I am scared but ready. I am a type 2 diabetic and high blood pressure patient and have been this way for many years. I am so ready for them to be gone. I am looking for a couple support friends to get advice and go through this process with. :)
