    girls only please...regarding TOM

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that my stomach sticks out. i know that you don't usually show until after 3 months, which is why i would think that i am not pregnant...but i look it..and i didn't prior to surgery. doc said he is not familiar with that, and he hasn't had anyone have a bigger stomach after surgery (that's 1 out of 1000 doc)..lol.

    girls only please...regarding TOM

i would be happy, honestly. with the exception that i am self pay and money is tight, i would be happy. i'm high risk, but it would probably be ok. besides, my doc said that not all people remove their fill and a lot of people lose weight while banded and pregnant. not to mention, that it would be kind of nice to be pregnant and get that over with BEFORE i lose all my weight. (i don't really want to get big again after i'm there, and i want plastics). :pray2:

i understand that it is rare to get a false positive, but how rare is it to have 5 false negative's.

    girls only please...regarding TOM

thank you gals for your input. i asked my band doctor about it yesterday. they said to get a test, but that some people are usually late like once. i said "late once...it is january and i haven't had a period since october...i've missed november, december's, and now january's. not to mention the one in october lasted for 4 hours. lol. as far as symptoms, let me just say that i have gotten the worse acne in the world. it's starting to clear up now, but it's all over my face and my chest even...my back...gross!!!! band doctor said the anestesia can cause that, but at this point it is my hormones and not the anestesia. and i have had tingly nipples. i know tmi, but the only other time in my life i had tingly nipples was when i was pregnant. please let me know if any of you get tingly nipples with pms. also, i have not had any side cramping at all, but i have had some center lower abdomen cramping, which is not usual for me. and of course, i'm tired, but that is nothing new. i don't think pregnancy symptoms are real common in the beginning anyways. with my last pregnancy i didn't know i was pregnant until i was almost 4 months. if i am pregnant now, then it looks like that will be the case again. i made an appointment with a ob/gyn (i usually just go to my pcp) for feb 4, but i go to my pcp this afternoon for a blood test. i will let you guys know the results. it's probably just crazy hormone's.

    ?'s about financing

wait...who offer's 1.9% financing..i missed out on that one. also, capital one offers 0% financing if you pay it off in like 2 or 3 years, but i had to go for 5. My payments are $345/month for 5 years. That was financing $15,000. So basically a car payment. My son's private school tuition is cheaper..lol. i've only lost 2 lbs. since surgery, and that $345/month payment hurts.
  6. i should add that i do get cravings every once in a while.
  7. i posted somewhere on here about sugar addiction because i had it bad. then i started getting restriction..now..i don't crave sweets like i did before. i think when you aren't hungry you don't care so much what you eat. i only start "caring/worrying" about what i'm going to eat when i need a fill. (i just got restriction 2 weeks ago..and i just don't care what i eat..take it or leave it).

    ?'s about financing

i financed through capitol one credit for medical loans. it is a 10% fixed for 5 years. Much lower than the local "personal loans" and even very competitive with my fixed rate credit cards. However, i have a 763 FICO, so that helped lots. i work in banking, and my bank said this was the best deal, they could not offer better (of course i had to finance $15k).

    Eating alot after surgery

yeah..as soon as i said that i went and had captain d's for lunch. blech! i'm getting over a cold, so i'm loosening up and as i do, i crave more junky foods. crazy, but true. my next fill is next week, so i just got to make it through this week.

    Eating alot after surgery

indio, i agree with you completely that the weight is on our shoulders to make the right decisions. i have found hunger control with my fill (at least so far), and for me my willpower is now 10 fold. i just think that in the beginning it is hard. for me, my doctor ok'd it, so i ate it. now, i'm not eating that junk, but i'm not hungry either. (if i do get hungry..like yesterday, i tend to eat something i don't need)..that is why we need to plan our meals and have good choices on hand, so we don't grab the cheetos in a fit of hunger. head hunger for me was a b**** after surgery, but lately, i just don't have it. i do a little at night, and a little during the day, but not ALL day like i was. i hope that it stays this way, because my past has proven to me that i am not as strong as you are and i do make bad choices. the band will make me stronger, i know, and i think some of us get all of this done so fast that it takes our minds a bit to catch up. for me..i researched it online, asked a few questions, went to a seminar, and then a month later i was banded. that simple. it was almost too fast. i am just now fully realizing what i had done. i know that sounds dumb, but it is true.

    Cant take this anymore

i have to agree completely with faith. my dh can say some really stupid things sometimes, and i think a lot of men can, but if i dare to tell him to leave, he would collapse in the floor begging for forgiveness. that does tell you right there where he stands. now, me being with a man who can say some stupid things sometimes (i say stupid things to him a lot also). you have to pick your battles, much like a 2 year old, but if your husband is openly choosing his sister over you, then there are deeper problems there and you should not have to subject yourself to it. perhaps he did not realize the committment involved in MARRIAGE.

    Eating alot after surgery

i understand completely what sci girl is talking about. i did not try a cheeseburger until i was cleared for solids, but when i did, i was very surprised that i could eat a cheeseburger and fries. let me say first of all that i have ZERO willpower. this is not an excuse, it is honesty. i did not lose weight in the beginning and a big part of it was the lack of willpower. so if you continue to make those choices, i'm sure it will show on your scale. however, my doctor tells us that we can have a cheeseburger if we want. he even says go for pizza, but the band keeps us from eating a lot. he also wants 10% of all of our calories to be Protein. if you eat that way majority of the time, a cheeseburger is ok. my doctor wants us to eat it with the bread and everything because we consume less calories that way (if we are restricted). however, i must say that i was not able to make good conscious healthy choices until i had restriction. just as my doctor predicted. i am loosening back up, but i got my 2nd fill last week, and instead of a cheesburger for lunch, now i actually want to eat chicken breast. because i am not able to eat very many calories, i want them to be healthy. when you are not hungry you have more control over what you put in your mouth.

    Twenties Chat

Hello!! My name is Tabatha, and i reside in Arkansas. i have significant other, who i refer to as dh..lol...not legal though. may as well be. we have a 7 (or will be 1/18) year old son together. i would love to have more, but my health does not currently permit pregnancy. i work in mortgaging. i studied psychology in college and took a very long break (still taking it). i current am 18 hours from my b.s. in psychology, but now i'm interested in business.. lol, i'll go back eventually, but i'm more interested in getting my weight under control. my interests involve just about anything. i thirst for knowledge, and i love a good healthy debate. this band thing has been hella hard for me thus far. i just got my 2nd fill, and i just started losing weight, so things are looking up.

    Hello Fellow Twenty's!!!

ok...i'll stick my neck out...what was my motivation besides health.. i wanted to feel attractive before i am old. vanity..i know...but it's true. (by the way i am a twenty too!!!)

    Salad?

like i said, it depends on the doc. it's hard to get advise around here about food because each surgeon is so different. i could eat lunchmeat and cheese, etc. during my "soft" foods. i would check though, and i do not recommend that you go against your doctors orders.

    How&Where

i personally needed the support of dh. he has been my support system throughout this whole thing. i think if he were opposed, i would have crashed and burned emotionally. it is joyous to have it done, and hopefully for you it will be smooth sailing afterwards. physically for me, it has been. (just started to lose weight last week). emotionally, however, that is a different story. i felt very much like someone had forced me into a drug rehab for food. hard to explain until you are there. then again, my doctor did not require a psych eval because i was self pay. i think you should pray and educate, as previously mentioned. then if not, i do not think you should let your husband stop you from trying to be a healthier you. i'm sure when push comes to shove, he would understand.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

i guess i'm just weird, i can eat, but i don't know that i could have ever eaten a baconater. i don't know though, i never tried. even prior to banding, i always opted for happy meals. but, i could eat another an hour later. i could never eat a 12 inch sub...but i could eat 4 or 5 pieces of pizza..yum..however, i usually only average 3. i can't wait to start RUNNING with you guys. i'm back at work today, no fever, so i'm hoping tomorrow will be the day i start.

Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

i can honestly say that the only one i have tried is the pizza hut p'zone..and i thought it was disgusting. now..i wanted the double deep pizza, but my band has not allowed that.
  23. bandster_1007

    Salad?

i would clear it with your doc first to be sure. i didn't try to eat salad until i was about 3.5 weeks out.
  24. bandster_1007
