1.
I was set for 7/1 and doctor rescheduled for the 7th. I am devastated (disrupts so many pre-planned stuff on my schedule) and will spend all Monday trying to convince them to switch me to a different surgeon who can stick to the 1st as planned.

I mean all does happen for a reason. I set suppose to be scheduled for the end of this month. But they put me for July 7th. I'm fine with that

  2. My pcp said my insurance company is notorious for denying people wanting weightless surgery, even if it is proven medically necessary. She is just preparing me. She told me that she will do whatever it takes to get me the surgery though. Gotta love that lady :)

Just be positive. It'll happen for you !!!!

  3. You'll be ok. Keep pushing you'll get through this .. I'm waiting for the surgery date. So nerve wrecking. My surgeon actually suggested the Bypass and I'm going with that because I want to lose 120lbs

I've got plenty I wanna lose lol. I just hope that everything goes smoothly on the path to getting on and off the surgeons table!

Lol yeah we all have that thought in the back of our heads. I know I do... But well be knocked out up until the surgery is over we won't feel/know a thing. Which I guess is a plus for us. Like my surgeon said.. Surgery is the easy part lol..
I feel so impatient because I just got started and the days seem to just dragggg lol. I'm excited though!
Lol, I'm done with the 6mnths process.. Thank god. I prayed every single day that this would go good.. To my surprise so far it has ( I don't wanna jinx anything. ) I'm just waiting on that freaking call. GOD !! Please call
I just got started. My pcp said that she is 99% sure the insurance will deny me and we will appeal it. My BMI is insanely high :([/quoteWhy did your pcp say that

  5.
I took my iPhone, charger, some magazines, my own pajamas, lip balm, some comfy slippers (you will want comfy shoes or slippers because you will be doing a lot of walking in the hospital), toothbrush & toothpaste and other toiletries and loose, soft clothing to wear home from the hospital.

Good luck! Keep us posted on your progress. :)

I'll be taking all the above minus the magazines.. So excited ...

  7. Yikes lol.. This brings me back to when I had my kids lol .. I'll be super satisfied when I can clean myself if. Ido get my period right before surgery.. My period is super irregular it'll first start with spotting then it'll stop.. And then come back and I'll hVr it for like 2 weeks .. I'm just super excited about having surgery fingers crossed I get a call back from my surgeon this week if not I'll be on it like clock work lol

  8. I'm beyond excited that this just over somewhat.. It's never truly over .. The psych Eval went absolutely amazing ☺️ That's what I was most worried of.. I'm going the gastric sleeve.. But then again like I wanna know more about the bypass as well.. Let's see what my surgeon suggest. Super excited thank god I'll have my mom with me :)

So how did things go with the surgeon?? Still going for the sleeve? I originally was going for the lap-band, but thought it was too much trouble with the back and forth fills and all...and my primary thought the bypass was too drastic, so I went with the sleeve...it's working out great for me now!!

Wish you the best, tammie30...keep us posted!!

Thanks, everything went well. My surgeon told me the bypass would be best for me. So I'm going with that. I'm just waiting for the call for the surgery.

  9.
What to take with you for surgery?

My spouse. My hospital allowed my spouse to remain with me after surgery until my release. That was nice especially during the first night when I was walking the halls with the IV rack in tow.

Firm sole shoes. Should have good traction when you are walking the halls. Walking was probably one of the most important thing to do in the hospital. I walked 100 laps during the two days I was in the hospital. I never felt the pain after the anesthesia wore off. I could barely tell when it wore off. I never took any pain medicine after the operation. Never needed it. Recovery was a smooth transition.

Many hospitals offer a pull bar that hangs above the bed which allows you to exit the bed easily. Make sure you ask for this if it is optional.

Your spirometer. Also if you have a C-PAP or BiPAP machine, you probably need to bring these to the hospital with you.

Yeah I don't have any of those machines.. But I Weill be taking comfy things. I'll see if my husband can stay with me the first night at least .. He can't take off work I mean he can ask and see if he can. This is major and I'll need his support and him there lol.. So exciting

  10. I think I'll be taking my own sleep wear like pajamas because I don't feel comfy at all walking around a hospital in a hospital gown ewes lol I'm so excited

I did that too but you'll have catheter/folly the first day and then an IV the whole time you're there so you own clothes can be tricky. I did wear pajama shorts after my folly came out.

I mean I'll wear short sleeves.. And like Lon pajama pants but the first day I guess I'll have to wear a gown but once that catheter is out .. I'm changing lol
