Our story is not the same but I am caring for my oldest brother . He was diagnosed on Vàlentine's day with esophageal cancer. He went thru Chemo and Radiation. We found out last week that it has spread to his liver. I wrestled in my mind about if I should postpone my surgery and just focus on him. With his help I decided to get it done this Thursday so that I can heal and soon be able to help him continue to fight this cancer . We have to look after ourselves too

Yes I do have a hernia to repair. My drs post op diet is the strictest I've heard of. I hope it helps to keep the hunger pains away!

Lol I know right! I have an internal defibbrilator on the left side of my chest. Now I'm gonna have the port on the other. I guess scars are better than this weight I carry though.

Thank you Jim. Going to call my Dr to find out which kind I'm getting. The lady teaching the class said they wouldn't put anything in it for 6 weeks. My surgery is Thurs..worrying about feeling hungry if its just the band.

I keep reading about people with bands that hold up to 14cc and some that are primed during the surgery..The band I was shown at my class didn't look like it could hold more than 6 comfortably..Which is normal?
