    Any Road Warriors? Need advice

I had a fast recovery and flew 8 days after my surgery. Just don't lift too much too early. Getting in and out of my car was harder than flying. Just remember to walk often to keep your circulation moving. Everyone is different. Start slow. Get plenty of rest and sip that water.
  2. You will be fine. Just take this one day at a time. Everyone stumbles. Just get right back to it. When I eat off plan my little sleeve tells me what a bad decision I made. It keeps me mindful of mKing good choices.

    looking for support

Being scared is normal. You will all do great. This surgery is minimally invasive and if you understand how to eat and have good support after your surgery you will be fine. I am four weeks out and have lost 40 lbs total. 20 in the pre op phase and 20 since surgery. I would do this all over again on a minute. Just wish I had it done sooner. Stay calm and stay focused on the result of all your prep work. Keep us posted.

    Flying in plane

Because I had to attend a funeral I flew 1 week after my surgery. Just be careful lifting too much or pack in a few smaller suitcases to keep within lifting limits. You will fine. I checked with my doctor before I left and he was fine with my travel too .

    Frozen yogurt

I have been putting cups of yogurt an d sf pudding in the freezer for about 1 hour. It's just like ice cream and better for me.
  6. Lol. I have given up the fight with the wait staff on water. I just order it and don't drink it. Otherwise you get into a fight and have too many questions to answer.
  7. Sip some water and get up and walk it off. It dies take some adjustment to eating habits. I eat too fast and before I know it I overeat. Slow down and chew chew chew. I set my fork down between each bit and sit back and enjoy dinner conversation a little more. You will get to the right place. But you quickly learn that overrating feels bad and not worth it.

    Four Days 'Til Surgery

Good luck to you. I just took toiletries and some slippers. Didn't even need my robe. I also took my iPod. One of my IVs made a loud noise that I couldn't have slept through. I was sleeved on May 1. Three weeks ago tomorrow. I am doing great. I am down 33 pounds since April 1. You can do this. Good luck. Keep us posted.
  9. Good luck baby. You will do great. I hear great things about dr. Hamilton too. Keep us posted on your progress. I was nervous and excited too . All normal. It will be here before you know it and then you will be on the other side. On your wa to a healthier you.
  10. I am so glad to help. Dr. S. was was. I was a self pay so my experience might be a little different. I had to answer about 30 questions on a form. They were easy but be honest on them. I think he is looking for watch outs on those that are not honestly confronting food and eating issues. He asked about my family life and support systems I would have after surgery. We talked through some emotional eating problems that I have had in the past and then he gave me advice on how to handle these after the surgery. It only took about 45 minutes total. Again just be honest and use him as a resource to deal with any challenges you feel you may experience. Nutrition classes were a little confusing at first. It was a small group of about 5. Went pretty fast. Don't worry about getting it ALL at once. Just focus on whatever phase you are in at that time. Surgery went great. Nursing staff is fabulous. Just take toiletries and slippers. I took flip flops. I am also glad I took my iPod. One of the Fluid pumps made a lot if noise overnight and I wouldn't have slept well if I didn't have music. Pain was very tolerable. Really didn't need pain meds at home. More stiff and sore than in pain. That only lasted about 5 days and got easier and easier with each day. Walk walk walk. It helps a lot . I had my surgery in a Thursday and was back at work with no problems on Tuesday. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I am down 33 pounds since April 1. Yippee What else can I help with? When is your surgery.
  11. I had my sleeve with Dr Hoehn on May 1 and I had a fabulous experience.
