  1. I took my medicine this morning and it feels stuck in my chest. I take 2 large pills that I have to break in half, 3 small round ones, and a capsule. It just feels stuck and it hurts. I half way feel like I have to throw up and if I burp it is bitter, the medicine, I guess. Is Saturday my unlucky day? Last Saturday I was vomiting all day and got admitted into the hospital. This just hurts!
  2. It felt like it went away but it is back and I cannot keep anything down. I was just admitted to the hospital last Saturday for this and it makes me wonder if I am going to be headed back...
  3. I can't stand when underwear are too tight or loose! How are you doing that?!?!? I suspect that will be my first purchase.
  4. I am going to try and get in a capsule form. I take so much medication I would actually love if I could get it in an injection until everything heals and is better. I have no issue with injections.

  7. Today I feel awful. It feels like my medicine is stuck in my chest and this is just bad.
  8. How long does it last? Will it finally go down or dissolve? This is just awful. It is seizure medication so I have to take it....
  9. I've been out of the hospital for four days now and I am able to eat mushy/soft foods. I am trying tunafish and it is just making my stomach feel weird. I did well with a cheese stick earlier today. The tunafish and even when I am taking my medicine feels like a ton of bricks have dropped into my stomach. Does anyone else have this? I hate to be afraid to eat and right now everything tastes pretty awful and I am not getting in the fluids or Protein I am supposed to....
  10. If you notice my ticker, my surgery was much longer than four days ago. I had to go back into the hospital about a week out. Right now I am at 2 1/2 weeks post op.
  11. I have a lot of medications I have to take for my Epilepsy and I am having a hard time getting them down....... I have been using Tylenol also for aches and pains.

My surgery was July 16 and I went in at #239. I left the hospital at #251 because of all the fluids. Now I am down to #228. I started at #264 when I first went to the surgeon. I haven't been that physically active because of all the pain and then being back in the hospital. Today I walked around Target for about 45 minutes I guess. I have been getting short of breath when I take a shower or exert myself. I am not sure why and I do wonder if it has anything to do with the Fluid pocket behind my left lung. I think I am losing at a good rate and I would like to get exercise in. I think I will be able to now that the pain has subsided, but I am not certain due to the SOB..
  14. Since getting out of the hospital that second time around, nothing tastes right. Not Water, not the flavors I put in the water, not my Protein drinks...nothing.
  15. I'm not sure about that. I am going by the info the nutritionist gave me but I feel like I am going to stay with the cottage cheese, applesauce, mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, and sf pudding and Jello.

    Dizzy spells

I am, as well as nauseous.
  18. The past few days, maybe even ever since I got out of the hospital, nothing tastes right. I haven't been able to drink plain Water since the surgery, I have to add Crystal Lite. None of my flavors taste good. The Protein drinks don't even taste right where they did before and after my surgery. I am not getting in my Fluid or protein by any means. I got out yesterday and drove to my friends house and visited and everything felt fine but at the end of the day I was worn slam out. Today has been no different. Worn out all day and even my vision has been blurred all day. What gives with this? Does anyone know? Oh, my pain has lessened a lot, so that is a good thing....

    S O R E!

I am 2 weeks and a day out today and this is the first day that my pain hasn't bothered me. In the beginning whenever I got from a seated position or from bed it felt like my body was ripping apart. That ripping apart feeling graduated to a burning feeling instead of ripping. Yesterday was still burning and so is today, but not as extreme. When you are experiencing that pain it is as though time is standing still and it is never going to stop, believe me, I know. It does lessen, and that is a good thing. I was finally able to lay on my side with a body pillow next to my stomach. I am only very recently able to lay on my left side, which is my problem (pain) side. It does get better as the days go by. Some days went backwards, but then were better the next day...
  20. So if you don't mind my asking, did your pocket of fluid go away? Sounds like we had the same exact issue.
  21. i had a couple bites of a scrambled egg and a tiny bite os sausage, and i mean tiny. from there on i threw up all day. i have been in the er since 3pm and am being admitted. i think i may have a stricture....
  22. You need to weigh or measure your food. Your dietitian should have given you some information on how much you should be able to eat in increments and the amount goes up over time. I am not right with my info but when I get to it I will try and post again. The texture of the food makes a difference as well. I would say that you should stop before you get to that point. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
  23. Thank you! I came home yesterday evening......
  24. The Fluid I have is beneath the lung, from what they are telling me. The surgeon thinks it is from where they removed my stomach from my chest from the hernia and the area filled with fluid. I have been doing some research and there are a few things I have found that could cause this, pneumonia, lung cancer, rheumatoid arthritis... I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am wondering if that is the cause. Another huge deal for me right now is just before I was discharged yesterday afternoon a lady came in from coordination of care and told me that my stay was under observation admit and not inpatient. No one ever told me that during any part of my stay. When I was in the ER, they told me they were admitting me under my surgeons care/service. At no time did they say it was observation. I have Medicare and what this means to me is that my Part A will not cover the hospital stay and everything they did during my stay in the hospital will be covered as though I was an outpatient. This means that all of the tests and scans they did, labs, everything else will be covered at 80% and I am going to be responsible for the hospital stay. This is not a good thing for me. =/ On the bright side I am feeling a lot better now but I do have a new kind of specialist, Pulmonologist. I have to have a third ct scan sometime soon. I am going to have to sell my soul to try and pay for this hospital stay.
  25. Thanks. I am feeling a lot better and can go home sometime today. Saw my surgeon and my pulmonologist. The pulmonologist still has some concern over the pocket of Fluid and wants me to have a follow up ct scan sometime soon. The surgeon thinks it is from where my stomach was up in my chest and it just filled up with fluid when they pulled it out.... I am glad to be feeling better......
