  1. I am so very sick right now. Just like right before the last 2 times I was admitted to the hospital. There is something stuck and it is not moving. I am just waiting for it to be coming up. I can't drink anything so I won't be able to take my epilepsy medicine. The papaya enzyme isn't doing anything. My life has become just awful since my surgery. =(
  2. I spoke with the dietitian yesterday and she spoke with the dr there and he called me in some Reglan. My pharmacist called to tell me it wont be in until tonight so I haven't started it yet. She just called me back today to check on me and said she was going to call me tomorrow as well. That's nice but right now I just don't feel any better....
  3. Still not feeling good but trying to think of other things. My engagement. My fiance proposed to me on Easter this year. The ring fit perfectly, well a little loose because he waited three months to give it to me from the time we picked it out. After that I was still losing weight and it got loose to the point that I needed to get speed balls, if you've heard of that. Two raised balls of white gold on the inside of the ring on the bottom part of the ring. It helped pretty well, maybe even just a little tight. Since the surgery I haven't really worn it much because I just haven't felt well. I put it on today and it just falls off. We are getting married next fall and I know I am going to lose more weight between now and then. I guess at some point I am going to get it resized but I wanna wait until....much closer to the wedding. I guess I can have the speed balls made bigger for now. What did you do? Are you having the same problem? Another of my issues is my RA, sometimes my joints are inflamed and my knuckles are bigger. This is why I hate to get it much smaller.... I just don't know! The picture is before surgery.
  4. I remember when my high school bf gave me his class ring to wear I used to put some stuff from the Orthodontist along the inside that would just mold right to the ring. I think it was for braces, I'm not sure. Did anyone else do that? Of course I wouldn't do that now with this ring!!!
  5. The test I took was pretty long and there were many questions. Some of them were asking the same questions over and over but in a different way. They ask you not to sit there and think about the question but to pick the first thing that pops in your mind. I had a nice discussion with the dr and my test came out exactly what I was telling him. I was not sure about the surgery.
  6. That's what the jeweler gave me as one of my options, but she said just a plain white gold or silver band.
  7. I was dx with this early this year and I have probably had it for a few years now. I started using the CPAP in February-ish and not long after my surgery I feel I no longer need it. I can sleep without the mask and I do not snore and have no issues and I have a very sound sleep and do not feel tired when I wake in the morning. I am having a very rough way to go post surgery but this has been a positive aspect of the RNY.
  8. Thank you. You know, I am not going to have another sleep study. I have already had 2 and with three hospital admissions equaling 10 days and so many tests, I can't afford to add any more..... I wish things would look up to.. =/
  9. During my 2 week pre surgery diet, my fiance drank shakes with me and did indeed lose weight. Today I am 5 weeks post op and have fared very badly. He has been by my side and cared for me every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better man to be my future husband.
  10. No dr available until Friday and my dr not available until next Tuesday. I would think they would try and fit me in...
  11. I had a very large hiatal hernia and I had it repaired along with bypass. I am not doing well at 5 weeks post op but I am not the rule. I think they find it quite a bit and it will not prevent you from having the surgery, they will just do both at the same time.
  12. You know I really haven't. I have actually been under three drs from the groups care through this. I think my dr is great, but I think I may be a tough case. I do have the issue of an auto immune disease with my Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I have to wonder if that is playing a part. The hernia was absolutely huge. If you put your hands together to make a circle, that is about how big it was. The hiatus should only allow for the esophagus to fit through, but my whole stomach fit through. They all seem to think I have a lot of inflammation and that they really had to pull everything very tight with the hernia. I am calling in the morning to get an appointment. Most days I drink some sugar free gatorade and have a cheese stick. I can't handle much else. I am gonna be that malnourished fat person..... crazy.
  13. Thank you so much. I'm glad you are doing better. I am not allowed to have decaf coffee. I wish I could! I am having a really hard time eating or drinking anything. I know this is not gonna end up being a good thing. I imagine I am starting to become a bit dehydrated, my urine is very dark. I expect to be back in the hospital pretty soon. =(
  14. Not always. I actually found my hernia a few years ago. I went to the ER for chest pain and they did a chest ct and chest xray. I always get my medical records. They treated me for the chest pain and sent me along, never mentioning the hernia. I guess most of the time there are really no symptoms. Mine was very large and I had a lot of symptoms. Most all of my stomach was up in the chest cavity and it began to be twisted. If I had not had to have different tests like I had, it would not have been found. The hernia actually was the reason for my chest pain over the years, it was finally discovered.
  15. I am not able to drink the protein shakes, and my surgeon knows.
  16. My dr knows. I have seen him for the last two Thursdays. I've been in the hospital twice since my surgeries. He thinks it is just taking me a lot longer to have things stop being inflamed, etc since both the RNY and Hernia surgery. I also have not had any medication for my Rheumatoid Arthritis in two months and I have to wonder if it may be playing a part in all of this.
  17. GEEZ KarenLee! Don't you remember all of my struggles?!?!? Geez! lolol
  18. I haven't been drinking them because the make me sickER. Not for a while now. =(
  19. Oh jeez! Well, thank you. I am doing what I can to have it not happen again. It was miserable for sure!
  20. Very nauseous and can't eat or drink. I've been in the hospital twice with medication getting stuck and me being sick all day and then becoming Pancreatitis. It's been a rough ride. I just noticed this said May...my bad!
  21. I had surgery on 7-16 and I have lost 27 lbs. Since my weight loss journey began, I've lost 50 lbs. Now I just want to start feeling better!
