  1. Start my one day liquid diet tomorrow!

  2. It's a time to grow. I've learned that actual weight loss is only a small part this. It's all those other flaws that feed us negatively. Look at this as an opportunity versus a dreaded thing to face. It sounds like you handled the situation professionally. Be confident in your handling of it and your right to have this opportunity.

    Should I just self-pay?

I agree. Why put out money you don't have to. My process has been 9 months so 3 is nothing. But I learned and prepped over this time do it has been valuable.

Can't help you with your specific instance but you should be able to contact them and get information. I was able to get a written copy of the exact requirements from mine.
  5. Posted too soon. My whole process would have taken 7 months but was delayed because I needed an unrelated surgery. I would suggest contacting your insurance company directly and get requirements from them. Insurance requirements typically dictate the time frame and what you have to go. So any answers you get here will vary significantly.
  6. My first appt. was an Orientation Session. It took maybe 3 weeks. It was a group session.

    My surgery is the 25th

Well looks like I might have to cancel Friday's surgery. I have developed a terrible chest cold that is getting worse each day. No fever but I have a horrible cough and rattle in my chest..probably bronchitis. I am beyond disappointed I am going to call the office today and see if I should definitely reschedule. I am just hoping it isn't too long. Luckily I only have a one day liquid diet but I self detoxed from caffiene and sugar....and of course the emotions are really pushing the cravings. Really bummed.
  9. Make sure you compare the old one which was appropriate to the one that is now blended. From what I have ready some NUTS are still recommending it but do not know that it changed,
  10. It's an absorption issue. You don't absorb the blended recipe in premier. It must be whey protein isolate to get absorbed. Drinking it isn't going to hurt you but it doesn't provide the protein you need. Over time the lack of protein will cause problems.

    Finally got a date!

    Congrats. It is exciting.
  12. It must be whey protein isolate. There are numerous brands. I am ore- op but having been researching for months and came across the information on the change recently. Premier changed its formula in the Fall to a blend....it is useless for Bariatric patients. There are numerous brands out there. I have stocked up on samples from several different companies because I don't know what u will like post op. Unjury seems to be a popular one.
  13. I know their was basically an insurance scam that was charging thousands of dollars to your insurance. I would contact your insurance company directly. And I think Premier a Protein changed their ingredients making them no longer the right protein for us anyway.

Tallgirl you sound like me.....except instead of a period I have bad chest now. I was really hoping it wasn't but it has put me down today. I am very nervous that I won't be well enough for surgery Friday. It's kicking my asthma off as well. But Tallgirl..I am excited for you. I too look forward to the loss of hunger and hopefully being turned off by sweets. For the non poopers ( sorry) if you are still taking opiate pain killers that will make it difficult for your system to get moving as well.

you have a few days to recuperate - as long as you don't have a fever they will proceed with surgery - feel better - stay excited for surgery, drink plenty of soup lol - get better - kathy

Thanks. My only concern is that it is really settled in my chest..terrible coughing and setting off my asthma. But I am taking it easy and doing everything possible to get rid of it.
