  1. It took about 40 lbs for people to start really noticing. I also think they are embarrassed to say anything because they don't want you to think they thought you were heavy. I laugh and tell them...it's OK I was really heavy! But even now each day they notice something different. Even though I haven't lost any weight for a few days I think we loose inches even if the scale doesn't change and that makes a difference also.

  2. I also agree...don't buy a lot of Protein drinks ahead of time. Your tastes buds change and what you liked before surgery you may not like after.

Also as far as what people think about your surgery....I can say I have been very lucky! Everyone I have told has been extremely supportive. Especially after I have lost 53 lbs and how much it has helped my Firbromyalgia. They can also see how much better I feel with the weight loss. However, I would have done it even if everyone was against it. This is a personal decision and it should be your's and your's alone. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. You are the one who has to make the changes and live with your decision.

Do your research and make your decision wisely! But make it for you...not for anyone else...whatever the decision is!

  3. I have to agree with winning_by_losing. I find that most people are generally trying to be nice. I always take it as a compliment when I hear.."hey don't lose any more weight" because I know they mean it our of love and it's their way of telling me how well I have done. I really don't think most people mean to be malicious.

  4. I am 3 1/2 months post-op and I have also had a few of the WTH did I do :) I think everyone does. But when you start feel great and you are loosing weight it makes it all worthwhile. It has made such a difference with my Fibromyalgia that I couldn't of asked for better results. I am at the point that even if I don't loose another pound I am happy because of how amazing I feel.

  5. I hope your doctor's appointment went well. So far I haven't had and fibro issues but I am just kind of waiting. I keep hoping it's gone for good but I know that is just a dream :) I wish you the best. Those of us with fibro need to stick together. I do think this surgery has been the best thing I could have done. Getting this weight off has made a world of difference for me.
