  1. I'm doing well on the weight loss, 25 pounds since surgery. 39 total. I just don't think I'm eating enough. What is your calorie goal at this point? I usually get between 400 and 600 calories per day. I try to get 80g Protein and less than 50 carbs. I don't always meet the Protein. I track everything on MFP, including exercise.

I have an appt. this week, so I will ask then, but just wondering how many calories everyone is eating!

Sounds like everyone is doing well, YAY us!

  2. I can eat a scrambled egg, tuna mixed with light mayo mashed up really well, ff refried Beans with a little avacado and melted cheese, cottage cheese with mashed up canned pears, Soups without chunks, canned crabmeat mixed with mayo and lime, egg drop Soup, grits, v8, laughing cow cheese wedge. I tolerate all of it well but still can only get a few bites down before I'm full! Good luck to you!

  3. Hi fellow June niners, ok so this is a little more info than some May want to read, so just a caution,

I haven't gone to the bathroom since June 7. I'm in pain, I'm afraid to strain myself too much because I'm seriously scared that I will put too much pressure on my new belly, and that my incision will burst open! I know that it probably won't happen, but I really don't know, too much straining can't be a good idea! Ugh, of course it's Saturday and no doctors office is open right now. Do you think it's ok?

I had the same problem. I tried MOM.. nothing. Finally tried Co lace stool softener, worked like a charm!

  4. Sleeved on June 9th, first day was dealing with trapped air and some pain. I was kept heavily medicated. The worst part was trying to get up to go to the restroom. Even with family help, it was an ordeal to unhook from the leg wraps and unplug the IV. I walked up and down the halls on the second day and had bouts of nausea off and on all day. I couldn't seem to get anything much down. The third day was the worst for nausea and everything I sipped, gurgled back up. It was at this point I started wondering if I had made a huge mistake. I barely got anything down. By the afternoon of the third day things made a big turnaround for me and I even kept 6 oz of a Protein shake down. After that they let me go home!!!! I was elated to get in my bed! I commend those that went home the day after surgery. I don't know how you did it!

Day 4 is even better. I have been outside walking up and down my long driveway and have slowly gotten down an 8 oz Protein Shake. For some reason Water has a terrible metallic taste so im going to try watered down juice and crystal light. I'm a little sore in the belly but not on pain meds since early day 3.

I hope everyone is doing well!

  5. How are you feeling? Are you able to get all your liquids in each day? When I get home from surgery, I can have liquids, but also a little cream Soup. Have you been able to have that?

I'm June 9th at 9am! I can't even believe it's almost here! I'm ready to get to a new normal! I never realized how much life is centered around food until i had to do without for 2 weeks!

I was sleeved Tuesday and I only had to do 24 hours of liquid diet so I cannot imagine 2 weeks without it!!! No thanks. After surgery I'm hungry but know my tummy can't take actual food so it's easier.

  7. So what is everyone most looking forward to in the coming year? Here are some things I thought of driving in to work. This is going to help me through this preop diet!

1- Wearing a normal t-shirt. One that doesnt choke my neck and arms! I cannot wear a tshirt without looking ridiculous right now.

2- Not feeling my little car sink down when I sit in it.

3- Being able to sit on the ground at a ballgame or concert and not have to look like a walrus getting up.

4- Not worrying about breaking the antique chairs at my Grandmothers dinner table on Sunday.

5- Fitting on a normal sized pool float. AND, going down our pool slide without worrying if I will get stuck.

6- Wearing a sundress, and wearing shorts that arent to my knees to cover my thighs.

7- Being able to exercise without my knees hurting.

8- Being able to shop wherever I want.

9- Being able to get ready in the morning for work without sweating. I don't know why but I burn up trying to get ready.

10- Not worrying about when I get up if I left sweat on a seat.

11- Being able to go to an amusement park and ride whatever I want to.

12- Wearing a belt with my jeans!

13- Being comfortable in my skin.

14- Enjoying shopping for clothes, instead of always shopping for scarves, jewelery, purses and shoes.

What are you looking forward to??
