Finally Done With All My Pre-Op & Insurance & Doctor Requirements...I Have A Concern & Question Though ?...My Lap-Band Surgery Date Is Set For June 2, 2014..Out-Patient At OSF Hospital Here In Rockford, Illinois...Dr. Shayani Surgeon..{Has Anyone Ever Had This Surgeon?..}..Anyway, Upon My Ultra-Sound Of My Abdomen They Decovered IThe Pain That I Frequently Been Having On My Right Side Is Because I Have Gall-Stones & Really Need My Gall-Bladder Removed..I Talked To The Surgeon About This Issue, & He Is Confident That He Can & Has Removed Gall-Bladders Before During The Lap-Band Procedure Also..I Also Have Been Told By My Gastrologist Doctor That He Would Like Me To Have A Liver Biopsy, Because They Found Hep C. In Me, & Would Rather Wait Till After My La-Band Surgery & I have Lost Some Weight To Start Me On Those Meds To Help Try & Deal With That Problem..And If Those Things Are Not Enough, Now I Have A Bad Jaw & Tooth-Ache, It Comes & Goes, Depending On What I Eat, So I Been Only Eating Soft Foods Now..I Went To My Dentist & He Has Now Told Me That I Have A Bad Infection In My Right MOLAR Tooth & The One Nx. To That One Has A Cavity..He Wants To Start Me On Antibiotics ASAP..& Then Either Pull The Tooth Or Do A Root Canal On It...YIKERS!...I Told The Dentist About My Up-Coming Lap-Band Surgery & He Said, That Yes, Maybe We Should Then Go Ahead Before My Lap-Band & Get It Dealt With..OK...Well, The Problem Is The Antibiotic That He Put Me On, Was VERY STRONG & Caused SEVERE HeartBurn, It Was Burning My Esopahgus Out It Seemed..I Can't Take Pennicillin, Because Of Alergic Reaction To It, So They Have To Find Other Infection Meds. Now, The 2nd Perscription He Wrote Is Not As Bad, But Also, Is Gonna Restict What I Take Like My Other Meds. For Arthritis & All & This Also Creates Some HeartBurn..I Just Don't Know If I Should Get This Tooth Dealt With Now Or After My Surgery?..Also, Is The Gall-Bladder Removal & The LIVER Biopsy Gonna Put Me In Even MORE Pain After The Lap-Band Surgery Than Normal..?...I Hate Pain!..What Advice Can You All, Anyone That May Have Had Similar Issues Give Me?..I Have Called My Lap-Band Surgeon This Morning & Am Waiting To Hear Back Now, What He Thinks About The Tooth & The Antibiotics Before Or After My Surgery?...I Would Love To Have Some PEACE About This...I have Waited A Long Time To Get This Lap-Band & I Really Want It To Work For Me The Best It Can, I Do Not Want To Hurt The Process ANY..What Should I Do?...Any Advice Out There For Me?...Thanks & God Bless!..And God Luck On Your Own Stories & Lap-Band & Surgery Lives...Mrs. Debi..

Great Job On Your Weight Loss Thus Far..Bee Proud Of Yerself..

Thank you so much to everyone for all of your support & prayers..I had my Lap-Band Surgery on Monday June 2, 2014..And everything went great, I couldn't be more happier..The surgeon was brght & Chipper & knew exactly what he was doing, the nurses were all very friendly, courteous & skillfull..And everyone at the hospital just made it a very pleasant experience for me, as best they could anyways.My Surgery took about 2 and a half hours...I was in the 1st recovery room a few hrs.. Then to the 2nd recovery room, where my husband & nurse also sister-in-law were waiting..I'd say within an hour I was up walking & put on my own nightgown & washed my face, brushed my hair & felt good..My surgeon though, thought it best that I stay at least 1 night, because I also had my Gall-bladder removed & needed a Liver Biopsy for my Gastrologist guy..So, I followed orders..I felt very happy & blessed that all had gone so great...No Nausea, stomach pain, or headaches, nothing!..Maybe it was because I really needed to get my Gall-bladder outta there also, I don't know, but what-ever the reason for my new found Health/Vigor & Vitality, I'll take it..I seem not also to have any pain in my joints fom my Arthritis right now also, so Great, Great, Great!...That's All I Can Keep Saying..Even in my own Mishaps, God has once again seen me through...Thank You, Thank You, Thank You...I am on my 1st week now, of my Post-Op Clear liquids & that seems to be also going well...I been up walking around at home bits at a time also, so that helps get the air out & the pressure off my chest from the built up gas..The walking I think has really helped the most & the deep breathing & Coughing, my surgeon suggested..I tell you, I cannot be more happier & I am SO Happy, Happy, Happy I did not allow my fears to Stop me from making this much needed Life-changeing decision to my New Healthier Life-style..Hallelujah & Amen..I see my Surgeon next Monday, 1 week after to look at my incisions & check me out, I can't wait...Hope this helps someone else, getting ready for their Lap-Band surgery also..God Bless You All!...And Thanks Once Again!...Mrs. Debi {Gods Industrious Bee}...+

There Is A Time & A Season For Everything... Just Pray For Her...I have A Few Friends that have left me in the dust, since I been home from the hospital, & even though It hurts at times..I KNOW what I did, I had To Do!..No one is in your body, feels your pain, feels your lonliness or depressions or whatever feelings that have kept us prisoner to food all these yrs..Everything centers around food, always has, probalby always will..But, I know for me that I HAD to do something or I was gonna die, it was that serious..Like I said There is a time & a season for everything..And A True Friend Will Love At ALL Times...Maybe it's time to move ahead a bit, & see what's on the other side...I know I am..Wish you all Gods Best, It will all work out..Things have a way of doing that!..Have a Great Day! And Congrats On Your Special Day...Just follow All of your surgeons orders & you'll be fine..

I just had my Lap-Band Surgery on June 2, 2014..I only experienced some Gas at home the day after.. My Surgeon said to take 1 or 2 if needed my Gas X Chewable Pills, I chewed just one very slowly & I have kept walking as many times as I can around the house..Also, I don't know if this will also help, but my surgeon said to try & take Deep Breaths & blow out the air as much as I can, Not too strained, but breath in & out..Also to Cough & hold a pillow on my stomach, That helped me bring out the fleme & also with my Gas..By The 3rd day home I have already had a bowel movement & feeling fine..Actually I really gotta keep myself, from over doing it, because I do feel so well..So, I am behaving & following all my Doctors orders..I hope this information may help some..Lots of Luck..Mrs. Bee

I Had The Lap-Band Operation..And My Gall-Bladder Removed at the same time, and a Liver Biopsy..My Band is working just great, I'm pretty sure, because I am having no ill effects from the surgery..All is well, in this Happy / Blessed Girls Camp Joy!..Ye-Haw!..I am SO~~ Glad it's over & I'm on with my New Heathy Life..Less Meds, Less Stress, A Whole Lot Less PAIN...YES!...YES!...YES!...I Love My Band...Still on my 1st week of liquid post-op Liquids, but I cannot complain, God has been very good to me in seeing me through all of this..YES!..O'...Did I say Hallelujah?..LOL

Dear Fellow Banders..I Have Finally Arrived...2 Weeks Of Pre-Op Counting Calories, 1,00 A Day..And Pre-Op Atkins shakes...And Lemonade Crystal Lights W/Lemon..Anyways, Now I Have Done All The Pre-Required Tests Also & Am Mentally, Spiritally & Physically, READY For Tommorrow Morning...All Fear Is Gone!...I'm Just SO Looking Forward To My New Healthy Lifestly...bUT, Now For Some Devish Reason, WHY? All Day Today, I Have Been Wanting food, Food, & Food..Everything That I Cant Have & Have Not Had...Until, Today...I Broke The Rules & Had 1/2 A Bolonya Sandwich On 1 Peice Of Wheat Bread & 1/2 A Sm. I Cannot Bee Trusted...I Am My Own Worst Enemy...Why?..LORD, WHY?...

I Have Started My Pre-Op Diet Even As Soon As Last Week..But, This Week Is My Count Down Week To My Lap-Band Success..I Am Loosing Some Weight Thus Far, Almost Down 12 Lbs.. & Counting..My Goal Is To Loose At Least 20lbs. Before Surgery, To Help Heal Faster & Less Complications...My Only Problem That I Am Having Right Now, Is That Normally I Take A Nubumetone Pill For My Arthritis & That Has Been Stopped As Of Monday, Being It's A Blood Thiner Also I Gather..And I Can't Take Any Sort Of Asperine/IAcetametaphen Right Now For The Arthritis Pain..SO...I Am Really Starting To HURT In My Joints..I See My Primary Doctor Thurs. & Hope That He Knows An Answer To This Of What I Can Take..Also, I Have For Yrs. Now..When My Surgeon Explained To Me & All About Taking Some Weight Off The Liver Because He Needs To Lift It Up & Work To Get The Band Around It, I Knew He Was Right!..My Surgery For The Lap-Band Is Soon Approaching June 2..I Have A Week Ago Started My Pre-Op Diet Already To Shrink My Liver & To Start Getting My Body Ready For This Life-Changeing Surgery..YES!...Your Surgeon Definitly Should Have Told You About The Pre-Op Diet, Thats Really A Must!..So, Far I've Taken Off 10 Lbs. & Have Tryed To Walk & Do Something Active For The Day To Relieve The After Effects As With Any Surgery..I Won't Kid Ya, I Am Hungry, But I Then Consider The Hurt That I Could Be Doing More To My Body & Chance Of Full Recovery & Success & That Detours Me..I Have Traveled So Very Far To Get To Even This Point Of My Journey.. Seen My Surgeon Yesterday At 3:30 & Told Him I Was On The Antibiotic Meds. For My Tooth Infection...He Said Go Ahead & Take All The Med For The Infection, Since I Will Be Done With It, Before My Lap-Band Surgery Date June 2, 2014..So, That Eased My Mind, He Said, If The Dentist Does Get A Cancelation & Can Get Me In To Have It Dealt With, Go Ahead Also & Do That, Not A Problem..He Has Now Started Me As Of Yesterday, On My PRE-OP DIET For My Lap-Band..So, Here We Go, I'm On My Way & Counting Down The Days...I Need To Try & Loose At Least, Hopefully 10 - 15 - Lbs. Before My Surgery, To Take The Presure Off My Liver..I Can Do This!...God Is With Me, I Know..He Was VERY Nice & Said, That IF For Any Reason I Feel The Need To Stay IN The Hospital For Just One Night, GO FOR IT!...Since He Also, Is Removing My Gall-Bladder At The Same Time...I Thank You All SO Much For Your Info. & Praise Reports, Have A Great Day!..Mrs. Debi..{Gods Industrious Bee}...

Again...God Bless & Thank You Much...I See My Surgeon This Afternoon 3:30 P.M...To Have Physical, Questions & Answer Time..And I Gather To Start My Pre-Op Diet...I Also Have To Have Him Remove My GallBladder, Which He Has Said He Can Do Too, During My Lap-Band Surgery!..And Now I Have A Bad ToothAche..I Went To My Dentist Last Week, I Thought I Best Deal With It Now, Before The Surgery, I Don't Need Any More Problems Or Fears..He Said That I Have A Lower Right Side Molar That Needs A Root Canal Or To Be Removed...I Told Him That I Was Having This Surgery, And Would It Affect That?...He Said, It's Probably Best To Deal With The Tooth BEFORE.. Then He Started Me On Some Antibiotics, Which I Take 2 Times A Day..At Noon & At Midnight!..Minocycline...I Have 7 Days Left Of Them, He Said He Is Booked Up Till July, So Unless He Has A Cancelation I Will Just Have To Get This Infection Under Control Before My Lap-Band Surgery...I Will Of Course Also, Tell & Ask My Surgeon All About It Today Also & Ask His Advice..So, What Do Ya Think?...Am I Still OK, For My Lap-Band Surgery?...I Hope So...I Just Need To Know If Anyone Out There Has Had Any Similar Problems Before Their Surgery & All...Thanks So Much & Have A Good Day...Mrs. Bee
