  1. Now I may have other issues but not here. I'm on post op day 5 and I've had in the last 24 hrs 5 bms. Perhaps it will change when I can add more food other the popsicles to my diet.
  2. You know, I just realized that 16 oz water and 11 oz protien shake is really great for me! I've never been much of a drinker (liquids) before surgery I drank maybe 10 oz on a good day. Why should I expect things to change after surgery to make my stomach smaller?
  3. Would love to try. Sleeved 5/21 and haven't weighed myself since hospital but have an appointment before the 30th so will try and remember to post an update. As a placeholder 238 (hospital weight) and goal weight: 215
  4. . One of the signs I know of dehydration is a dark yellow urine color. It should be clear/really pale in color for healthy urine. As long as your urine is good, do what you can. Everybody is different. Also way to go janeyb glad you can get it in.
  5. I'm on post op day 4. So far the most I have taken in was yesterday. 10 oz water 11 oz protien shake. Today I am about 12-13oz water and 2 oz shake so far. No where near where I am supposed to be but I figure as long as I am increasing daily I should be happy.
  6. . I'm on post op day four. This thread has been a lifesaver. So what if I'm not doing as well as others. I am alive, getting better by the day and looking forward to increasing my intake each day. So what if I only managed 10 oz water and 11 oz protien shake. It's no where near where my doctor wants me but it was more the. The 8oz water day before.
  7. Oh good then I'm not going crazy. Doc had me on Percocet but every time I take it I get nauseated for a good hr. May have to switch to Tylenol to see if it helps.
  8. Anyone know if it's possible that my pain meds are part of what is making me nauseated?
  9. I find I can keep popsicles sugar free down but that's about it.
  10. I'm right there with you. 2 days post op and almost nothing wants to stay down. I'm about to cry from the pain.
  11. I thought it might have been the hospital gown. There I a fe detergents mom and my sister221 so figured that was the issue. I did g-et a private room and the doctor was amazing.- tmc treats you amazingly
  12. in the hospital but discharged process has been started. The first day has gone perry well, my biggest issue is I inch all over. I am feeling a little like throwing up and I do have some pain but over all I'm good.
  13. Just checked in and waiting to be called back. Will be on hopefully after surgery.
  14. Gummy vitamins are what were recommended by my surgeon. I have the vitafusion women's complete multivitamin. Taste isn't bad and serving size is 2 gummies.
  15. Everyone responds differently to food/temptations. I almost feel as if your psych was generalizing. I do understand about not having a reason to eat other then you are hungry. I'm like that myself. In fact, if my emotions are messed up, I.e. Upset, angry, depressed I tend to not eat. I'm glad things turned out okay. It could also be that the psych was not the right fit for you. good luck and smooth sailing wishes for the rest of your wls journey.
  16. I have 4 hrs till check in. So excited!!
  17. It took me 4 months *from consultation to surgery* I had my Consult end of January and surgery is tomorrow. It depends though on what your insurance requires. I only had to do 2 months with the NUT and 2 months medically supervised diet. I could have had Surgery end of April but couldn't take the time off work until May.
  18. if it helps any, my surgeon doesn't require me to do any special diet before hand so you should be okay. Also congrats!! It's going to be here sooner then you know.
  19. Not sure but at least you get iv fluids!! I have almost the same orders although not 24 hours. my surgery is tomorrow at 2:30 pm, the last time I get food or Water is before midnight tonight. No sips or anything else. My plan is to stay up as late as I can tonight and sleep as late as I can (although no later then 11:30 as check in is at 12:30.) to avoid the temptation to drink. I think the difference is different surgeons' beliefs about nutrition/surgery needs. For example: I've heard a lot about a pre-op liquid diet but my surgeon doesn't require it before hand.
  20. Yay! just think tomorrow will be here in no time!
  21. Yay congrats I'll be following up. check in at 12:30, surgery at 2:30
  22. Yay! I'm looking forward when I can say this. 24 and 1.2 hours till my surgery.
  23. Yay! I'm slightly envious my surgery is not till 2:30 pm.
  24. Good luck to all having surgery tomorrow. Makes me almost jealous but tomorrow will make one day for me.
