    Still not able to eat

Wow, first of all I am really sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. You too mommy to vincent. When I called my surgeons office to ask why I was so hungry and could eat and drink anything they told me it is normal either way and that I just must not have as much swelling as others. Please keep sucking ice chips or popcicles or something. Did you try slightly warm Water so it doesn't shock your body? You have GOT TO stay hydrated. Going back to hospital sounds terrible to me. Fingers and toes crossed for you both. Xoxo Colleen

    Lap band today!

Well Nolans Nana, I sure get that. I am on the 2 weeks regular liquid and I know I am pushing the boundaries to the max on what can be sucked through a straw. (No not using a straw, just the metaphor they told me) I feel no restriction at all with Water or food. I had to add veggies to chicken broth previously just to change the taste up. It really helped for me. You can just strain the broth or as you get further, blend it in the blender with the veggies. We just got to keep trying and pushing through and we will be there! I know I can, I know I can, choo choo xo Colleen

    Is it just me?

Nope, I felt like all I had was water! lol Weird how different outcomes are. Can you suck little ice cubes and such? Also try to be careful of full sodium broth.

    Out of touch

I call that life. When you are ready, go back and get a fill so the band can do its job. It is all up to you and I somehow doubt that this hasn't happened to others and the surgeon will have seen it before so hold your head high and move on to continue something you know you want. Good luck to you. Colleen

    Lapband v Sleeve

Hey, Sexy-momma. I have been fine. The surgery did kick up the fibro I have but my regular meds got that on track within a day. All else has been good. Just normal discomforts from surgery. I didn't have gas pains or anything luckily but the incisions under some are sore, bending over and have to be careful not exhausting myself. I didnt seem to have much swelling because after the first few days I can eat and drink fine. How are you? Colleen

    Scared! 14th July!

I was banded on the 20th of June, lost 22 lbs on pre-op, two weeks, shakes broth no food. It was brutal but part of the process. You will be fine, time to relax and just get through each day. Good luck! Colleen

    Achey under right rib cage

I don't know what it is but i have it too. Especially on deep breaths. I can not lay but a short minute on my left side because of discomfort. My surgery was the 20th and I don't have any other issues but the pain from that, especially when i overdo it with a long day, bending and stretching to much. I have just thought it is part of the healing process but I dont know. Colleen

    SURGERY DATE-TOMORROW!

I had surgery on the 20th of June. It was all pretty simple. I call it a drive through surgery. (for some) The 2nd day was painful for me, the surgery seemed to flare up my fibro problems. I took some of the meds I had for it and everything was back to normal. Just walked around A LOT even in the night. I didn't have any gas pains that I noticed. I think everyone is different though so your experience will fall somewhere in all of it. The only problem I feel I have is feeling hungry, I don't feel any restriction yet. I still have tender spots and am not comfy on my left side sleeping. Try not to worry, I am sure you spent many days thinking about this. It will all work out. Goodluck to you! Colleen

    coffee?

For a few of us, not talking to the die hard coffee drinkers here. I drank a fresh hot cup of coffee every morning thanks to my cool little Keurig coffee maker, I absolutely love it. Since preparing and having this surgery and no longer adding an array of dreamy tasting creamers I found out is what I was in love with is all the flavored creamers. Although a few are still in the fridge I bought one that is sugar free and fat free and can honestly say, YE-UCK. Apparently sugar and fat are the tasty part, the only good part to me so I am going to just have to forget the little joy of my morning indulgence for a better body and who knows, I am sure sometime in my life here and there I will enjoy a cup just not to often. This fat just isn't worth it. BTW, my keurig has brewed a lot of Water lately for my broth and such, lol Works great. Colleen

    Am I making a mistake?

#1 Dont get any surgery unless you are sure. 2. Of course you are hungry. That is what got you here in the first place. It is not easy. We do it because we have to. My pre-op diet SUCKED. I fought it the whole time. I am now on post -op still fighting. I am looking forward to my first fill to feel some restriction and more not be hungry so fast. It is a fight for many of us, just get through knowing that the end result will be worth it but dont ever think it is easy. It is not easy being fat either, we are just use to it but our bodies are suffering greatly and will give out on us if we dont stop this over eating. Stick it out, remind yourself why and know going in there is nothing easy about fighting an addiction. We are all here for support, use it! I really do understand. Colleen
  14. I got banded on the 20th and dont feel a bit restricted. I did gulp down a whole glass of water and noticed I had some little burbs but that is it. I am thinking you are very swollen.
  15. Head hunger? That kind of irked me. I think I know when I am hungry or just wanting to eat. I have done both in my past. It doesnt matter how much broth etc you drink, there are times when you are flat out hungry. The liquid helps for a short time. Regardless, we all have to stick to what our Dr. recommends but dont tell me I am not hungry! lol
  16. I dont know whether to feel sorry for you are be jealous (teasing). Everyday past surgery I feel like I could eat a steak dinner with all the trimmings. Amazing how different for all of us. I do hope you feel better soon.

    Why is food ALWAYS involved?!

I think there really are food pushers, just like there are people who want to tell you every calorie you put in your mouth because they are either on a diet or think everyone should be. Both are irritating for the same reason.
  18. I too am one week post op. Surgery june 20, The first week was hard because I was also hungry 2 days after surgery. I am now allowed full liquid which included cream of wheat, oatmeal, Soup etc. They said to blend it up but I dont bother, the soup is mushy anyway and I eat it slow and chew well with the little soft chunks. Also allowed sugar free pudding, Jello, and frozen SF yogurt and so on. Dont you have a list of foods to eat from the Dr? It is always best to go through your Dr and get there opinion because only they know your situation and you. I hope you feel better, I know it is hard and none of us want to do anything to mess ourselves up.

    Lap band today!

Wow, I would like to feel some sort of restriction, (I think). I have not had any issues swallowing, eating Jello and so on. Started a day early with the Soups today. Thinking of hanging a sign around my neck saying dont feed, lap bander in training and hungry. Hang in there Nolans nana!
  21. So my husband and I both got banded together this month and I am sitting here snickering to myself thinking about going out to a restaurant in the future. In my head I can see us both sitting there: No Water, no appetizer, no dessert just sharing one glorious dinner, and I sure hope I can find a coupon to top it off, lol. There wont be a restaurant we can not afford!
