To calm myself down, I just remind myself of all the prep work I've done and to trust in the process. Best of luck to us all!

Oh, I've been crying too!
-
Well, I'm officially on my way! I left home a few hours ago and am now in a hotel very close to the hospital. Bright and early tomorrow I start my pre-op appointments and then Tuesday is it! Wow, July 1st group, we're really close!
-
Is it really only five more days? Wow! Our time is coming!
-
Our scale just died, so we set a budget ($50) and went with the highest rates one at that price on Amazon. It should arrive tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think. Back to jury duty tomorrow. Not too excited about it, to be honest. Hope everyone is doing well! Kate

Karla, Your boys are precious! I had a really great day! I finished my MS in Secondary Education in May and today I accepted a position teaching high school English! I'm just so excited! Of course, that made my day fly by! I also had jury duty and have to go back Wednesday to find out if I'm on a jury. Crazy day! I hope everyone is doing well. Kate

Let's see...if I'd bought everything at once I would have needed 14 cups of yogurt, 14 sugar-free jellos, 7 low-fat cream of chicken Soups (which I dilute and strain), 14 packets of sugar-free Carnation Instant Breakfast, 4 1/2 gallon cartons of Mootopia skim milk and, of course, good old Protein powder for my shakes. I think that's it. Of course, we'll be eating the same stuff post-op, so it will not go to waste if you get extra. Good luck!

Yes to the mood swings. Not fun! We hosted a World Cup party today and in spite of all of the delicious food in the house, I did not cheat even one little bit! A dear friend made me homemade broth for the party and it was delicious! Also, today was a lot easier than the previous days (mood swings not withstanding), so hopefully I've turned a corner. Jury duty tomorrow-ugh!

What's one thing you hope to enjoy after you've lost the weight?
Pugmadkate replied to fezik23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fit in an airplane seat. I love to travel and being 5'9" I know I'll never be truly comfortable in coach but actually fitting between the armrests would be awesome. -
I look at it this way...staying obese has a long list of risks associated with it whereas WLS has a much, much shorter list of risks associated with it. You've got to decide for yourself where you are comfortable with the risks. For me, I'm more comfortable with the surgery than I am with staying obese. Best of luck to you.

I've discovered the joy of "cream of" Soups. I had a cream of cheddar cheese last night and a cream of chicken tonight. What a difference a little dairy makes in feeling more full!

Pre-Op day 3-HEADACHE day 3!
Pugmadkate replied to Lifechange>40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for the info! -
Almost done with day three. I feel hungry and a bit discouraged. Hoping tomorrow or the next day will be better.

I'm considering having gastric sleeve surgery
Pugmadkate replied to laiovyn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Too many complications with the lap band and I did not want the malabsorption issues with the by-pass. So, a sleeve it is! -
Pre-Op day 3-HEADACHE day 3!
Pugmadkate replied to Lifechange>40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm still drinking iced tea with caffeine. Are we not supposed to have caffeine at all? -
The only protein shakes I can tolerate are Syntrax Nectar so I'm all set sweet-tooth wise. I'm just plain old hungry! Drinking plenty of water, so that's good. Onward and upward!
-
Mine starts today, too! July 1st cannot come fast enough!
-
From everything I've read, it really does get better after day 4. You're doing great! Hang in there.

July Surgery Date
Pugmadkate replied to SusinMichigan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started the process in August 2013 and am scheduled for surgery July 1. There is a support section by month here at Bariatric Pal. Check out the 2014 July Sleevers. -
Welcome to the July 1st party! Thank you!!!
-
I had a surgery date of June 17 but it got changed today to July 1. Hello, July 2014 Sleevers!
-
I'm in Texas as well. I live in South Texas, wish I lived in Austin-what a great city! My date just got moved today from June 17 to July 1, so I am officially a July 2014 Sleeve member! I have to do a two week, pre-op, liquid diet. How about everyone else?
-
My surgery date had been changed to July 1. Best of luck, June 2014 Sleevers!!!

Hope your pain level goes way down very quickly, flaco.

Hello June 2014 BPs! I start my pre-op, liquid diet tomorrow and I know that I am not alone. So, let's get a June 2014, pre-op diet support thread going! After going through five different brands (thank goodness for sample packets!), I finally settled on Syntrax Nectars Fuzzy Naval for the first few days of shakes. In addition to that I've got sugar free pudding, popsicles, Jello and Greek yogurt 100 calorie. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Surgery is getting close! What's everyone stocked up on? How are you feeling?
