1. You describe my symptoms exactly, except I was banded in 2007. I aspirated in Feb then got pneumonia from it. I now know after an endoscopy that I have developed a reservoir for food and need a band replacement and repositioning. This will happen ASAP. Aspirating is never a good thing so get scoped to see what's going on. I'm noticing that it's pretty common with us older banders that we are developing these symptoms. My doc opened my band up a cc and that took away symptoms for now.

I've now had my surgery and I was told it was quite a mess inside. My stomach was in a huge reservoir that had to be repaired, lots of scar tissue to clean up, a hiatal hernia to repair due to the months of night coughing I did, on top of the band replacement and repositioning I had to have. On the mend and lost all the weight I'd gained, about 10 lbs, from my doc opening my old band. Now it's onward to hopefully lose the last 10 lbs I never got off.

  2.
mgolden 1984 .did u have a endoscopy from the doctor who did your band .i am having one next week from a doctor in our area who isn't to familiar with the band so i am hoping everything will be ok .i am filled a 4cc and wondering if he can get the camera down there to see if everything is ok .sorry to hear about your problem .i am hoping it is clear up now thank you

yes, I had the same doc. I also had a 4cc band which I think is part of my problem as mine was an older model. He can't fill it anymore than it is.

  4. Ok so lately... As in the last couple of weeks... I've been waking up about 45 minutes after dozing off to sleep and throwing up. I've even started keeping a trash can bedside because it happens so fast. It's not food... I'm almost wondering if I'm frothing from a later dinner than normal and laying down is causing the reaction. This morning my sweet hubs brought me breakfast in bed and I dozed back off after eating only to have it happen yet again. Now killer acid reflux. None of the foods are the same. Thought it was possible the Vitamin I took close to bedtime until it happened again today. Any thoughts?

I went through that and put off going back to doc until I got awakened in my sleep (again) but this time aspirated. 3 days later I had pneumonia. I then realized what was going on and got in to see the doc ASAP. I ended up having a "reservoir" develop which was storing some of the food and now I'm going to get another band (not a new port) this week. Don't mess with middle of the night acid reflux.
