Will insurance pay for protein drinks?
Sorry Crosby for me asking but why is whey protein isolate the only protein a bypass patient can use? If a bypass person is just using a protein drink for a supplement for protein intake that anything would do as long as it was healthy. I'm asking you this because my breakfast has been a premier protein drink for months and haven't seen anything negative about it.

Quest bars!
I'll stick to my protein drink. To me the cost isn't worth it.

Dump syndrome?
@@teachrissy Well you came to a pretty good place for help. If you can, use the web site instead of the app at first to search through all the subjects, it's easier. You'll find places that are talking about all your concerns and people that are going through your experiences with helpful suggestions. I wish you the best and please stay in touch.

Dump syndrome?
Now this is just about me. There is no chest pain. Do you remember any time when you had diarrhea really bad? If you do, remember you had this stomach pain as the waste is traveling through your intestines. I immediately know I'm going to shit water. I can't even fart without something coming out. Sorry about the graphic detail but it seems some people want to know. Again this is how my dumping is and doesn't represent everyone's experience.

Dump syndrome?
Straight from the Mayo Clinic web site: Dumping syndrome is a group of symptoms that are most likely to develop if you've had surgery to remove all or part of your stomach, or if your stomach has been surgically bypassed to help lose weight. Also called rapid gastric emptying, dumping syndrome occurs when the undigested contents of your stomach move too rapidly into your small bowel. Common symptoms include abdominal cramps, nausea and diarrhea. Most people with dumping syndrome experience symptoms soon after eating. In others, symptoms may occur one to three hours after eating. Some people experience both early and late symptoms.

Sedentary : Can I lose weight?
@ When I started my journey in Aug of last year I was physically limited and therefore didn't exercise. I lost weight for several months then it stopped. By then I was taking in more calories because of my sedentary life style and I stopped losing weight. I was lucky that my medical insurance covered PT and I used it. I'm still limited on the length of time I can exercise but it's enough now that I can do it. So yes you can lose weight, but for me it wasn't enough to reach my goal so I had to do exercise.

How often do you poop? Don't be shy!
Thanks for the info. I never heard of this until I read your post. I went and looked it up on the internet and read all around great reviews about the product. As a result I just ordered the two pack from Amazon.

Question
Hey Bigsky, I can't imagine what you're going through. I do know about bad weather. I dislike it so much I retired in the southeast. I've been watching what's going on in the northeast and I hear even more bad weather is coming your way. I commented to my wife just tonight about how nice it is living down south. Today I even spent most of the day outside doing some wood work. Maybe by the time spring arrives up there you'll be ready to hit the gym. Best of luck.

Plateau already?!
You'll get many inputs from people about stalls. They happen all the time. Don't worry, you'll be losing again in no time. But you should expect the stalls to happen and sometimes they last a few weeks. Just stay the course and all will be fine.

Severe Constipation: Advice Please
I'm sorry that I gave the advice about the coffee. At the time I didn't realize I was on a DS site. That's a poor excuse because with it happening so often and with my length time on BariatricPal, I would know better. I do look more closely at were I'm at before I throw out a response. But alas, we aren't all infallible in what or where we input our thoughts so it'll probably happen again somewhere else. I am sorry again.
