    Stomach Stretched?

I brought this up on the gastric bypass side since I had the RNY done and all the responses were also negative in what this PDF file said.

@@enjoythetime I must admit though you've lost a lot of weight without exercising. How many calories do you have a day? That's the only things I can think of that worked for you.
  3. I saw this web site from becal2015 over on the sleeve side and it has a PDF file called "Pouch Rules for Dummies". I found the document very informative and it has 8 rules of the pouch that should be followed after the sixth month of surgery. If you're a six month plus vet do you think these are good rules to follow? http://www.victoriabariatricsurgery.com/pouch-rules-for-dummies/

  5. Yes I had to go back to the hospital. After I went home from gastric bypass I started to bleed internally and had to go back for four days.

I went to see my doctor today for a follow up and he told me 20% of all gastric bypass patients gain the weight back. His words

Has weight loss/surgery turned me crazy?

Yeah I had it too for about two months but it went away, especially as the new me emerged. I'm happy I had enough strength to control my thoughts and didn't communicate them into words to my wife.
  8. When drinking a protein drink as a meal you don't need to wait any time after that to drink. A drink is a drink. I can't answer the second part of your question.

You face looks like a donut

I think any words that are said to hurt someone you are suppose to love is abuse. You can try to psychoanalyze why that person is the way he/she is but we aren't trained to do it. That said, there are truly kind and loving men out here that love the ground their lover walks on and could no more say a hurtful word than to kick a dog. You're wise to end what you had but you will go through times of doubt. Talk to a therapist and best of luck to you.

    STILL STALLED. help :(

I had a one month stall. I tried everything to stop the stall and nothing happened. I then went back to what I was doing before. Protein first, 64 oz plus water and my exercise. The stall stopped a few days later. I figured for me anyway that my body was the deciding factor in when to start loosing weight again. My advice is just stay the course as directed by your Nut and you'll come out of the stall eventually.

    Constipation?

I'm surprised the prunes didn't help with 19 grams of sugar in them. Only 5 to 6 grams of sugar give me dumping. And about eating fat, it gives me dumping too so for me that's not so good.

    Trying to decide...

Hi, I'm now 5 months out from my bypass and the dumping thing, sometimes not so great. I sometimes feel if I smell sugar I dump. I get it more times than I should so I'm have a hard time getting a handle on it. It can make you weak, dehydrated, and not let you out of the house for fear of an accident. One good thing for me is I know when it's coming. My stomach, well pouch, rumbles like crazy for as long as it takes until I have a BM. A benefit, constipation is rarely a problem. If I do have it I can eat a sweet pickle or two and here it comes. Sorry for theTMI but I thought you should hear this from someone experiencing what you're talking about.

@@GAWildKat Check out hypoglycemia, you may have it. There was talk here last year about this subject and one of our Gastric Bypass buddies said he carries around with him glucose tablets. There's usually precursor symptoms but checking your blood sugar is a good idea to do. My sugar started to runs a little low after my RNY procedure and I now check mine. Best of luck to you.
  16. I just got prescription for Gabapentin and now you got me wondering. I just started it last night and will just have to watch and see what happens. It was given to me for Peripheral Neuropathy, I have numbness down my leg from a bad back. Wish me luck.
  17. Hi, The sixties over here is more active than the one on the Gastric Bypass side and now that the subject of RNY has come up I thought I'd chime in. I'm 61 and had the RNY procedure done last August in Gainesville, Florida. I think any WLS you get you'll be happy with. With mine I couldn't be more pleased. Just wanted to say hi to ya'll and best of luck.

  23. Hi tblabella, I can't answer your question because I haven't gone into my maintenance phase yet but I noticed we're one year apart from surgery months and just wanted to say hi. Great job in your weight loss and best wishes in your maintenance phase.
  24. Hi Srayl61, you must be looking over old post getting every bit of information about RNY. Good for you. I did the same and even download three books on the subject before my surgery. Strangely I had to repeat this story recently. At the time It was terrifying for my family I said I wasn't worried about it at the time but thinking about it now maybe it was because I was so far out of it at the time that I didn't care. I was bleeding internally from the surgical area after I came home from the hospital. Because the blood didn't show up until so many days after the surgery I'm sure it was something I did to open a stitch. I had some seriously heavy heaves after eating cream of tomato Soup so I think that was it. After I got two units of blood I stayed in ICU for four days. I couldn't get up for anything and was not allowed to eat so it was really quite boring. Luckily I just had the surgery and I did!'t miss eating food. They successfully stopped the bleeding with medicine and thankfully didn't' have to go back in. Best of luck to you and don't worry about the surgery. What happened to me isn't the norm.
