Congratulations, I want to be like you one year out, and I will be. Thanks for the inspiration.

You'll get many inputs from people about stalls. They happen all the time. Don't worry, you'll be losing again in no time. But you should expect the stalls to happen and sometimes they last a few weeks. Just stay the course and all will be fine.

Severe Constipation: Advice Please
catdaddy replied to jtubb's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I'm sorry that I gave the advice about the coffee. At the time I didn't realize I was on a DS site. That's a poor excuse because with it happening so often and with my length time on BariatricPal, I would know better. I do look more closely at were I'm at before I throw out a response. But alas, we aren't all infallible in what or where we input our thoughts so it'll probably happen again somewhere else. I am sorry again. -

The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve!
catdaddy replied to Alex Brecher's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wellcome to BariatricPal. -
No I haven't. You hear of soldiers doing it prior to going into war. I did four years in Iraq as a contractor and never thought about it. I did make a decision to not tell my family about the war raging around me. I always told them nothing was happening around me. They were happy with that until I came home and let them know the real stories. That's when I knew I made the right decision to keep them in the dark. I guess I'm saying if you want to write a letter do it. I knew the risk going into the surgery but I didn't want to worry my family and I clearly informed them everything was going to be fine. I advice that to you.

Slow loser due to my age?
catdaddy replied to brown eyed gal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I read men burn calories faster than women but that said I'm 61 and don't think age has anything to do with how fast or slow you loss weight. To me it's your metabolism. My example is me. Basically I'm lazy when it comes to working out. I don't go to the gym but do love working in the yard, weather permitting. I started my journey last Aug and have lost 81 pounds since surgery. To me that's pretty good for not doing much exercise. My weight loss has now slowed down to about a pound a week. So my thoughts are who cares how fast or slow you loss. Stick to the plan and everyone will get to their goal. -
@@starbuckscoffeegal I like the name you picked.

What do you recommend? Isn't hummus high in cals or carbs? I want to try it with my tuna too?

Sorry but coffee has always made me go, even before surgery. I'm sure it varies from person to person like everything else does. -
Do you lose less on the sleeve than bypass?
catdaddy replied to bangbangbarbie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posting this on the pre-op gastric sleeve site will only get you responses from the sleeve side of the house. To get a complete answer to your question you may want to post this also on the gastric bypass side of the house. -

Low Blood Sugar 3 times this week
catdaddy replied to Sparklingbeauty53's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm mentally ready for it just in case. There's an old WLS pro that comes on line every once in a while and he was the one that brought up the glycemic tablets. He says he knows when his sugar is low by a feeling and just pops a tablet when it happens. -
All the time and everyone else's is changing too. Someone earlier has brought it up on another post.

Low Blood Sugar 3 times this week
catdaddy replied to Sparklingbeauty53's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This is not uncommon with RNY patients. You should read up on Hypoglycimiia after gastric bypass just in case. I have heard of people carrying glycemic tablets for low blood sugar events. http://spectrum.diabetesjournals.org/content/25/4/217.full -
Wow, since I started this I'm now down to a 34.

Husband for sale!
catdaddy replied to You'reGonnaHearMeRoar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too am notoriously forgetful of special dates. My wife's remedy for our wedding date was to marry me on my birthday so I wouldn't forget. Still there was one year were I nearly forgot about the anniversary. So from all us forgetful males, Happy Birthday. -
And back in the hospital I go!
catdaddy replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had internal bleed after my surgery last Aug and ended up spending four days in the hospital. It didn't affect my weight loss. I'm now down 80 pounds since surgery date. -
