  1. I had my surgery May 14, 2014. Lately I feel as though I am fitting in less food than I was before, and my desire to eat is even less. Two weeks ago I feel as though my desire was greater as well as my intake. Lately I feel like I'm eating less and I'm wanting it even less. I wouldn't be too concerned with it except I feel dizzy from time to time and I'm thinking it could be low blood sugar? Has anyone else had this happen?

  2. Hi All,

I am 4 1/2 weeks, almost 5 weeks out from the sleeve and I'm looking for opinions. I have an appt with my Doctor on wed, and will also ask her then.

For the last two weeks or so, I am been having terrible Constipation. And when I do go, it's extremely painful. I take 2 Colace every morning and it doesn't seem to be helping.

I also think the lack of Bowel movement is showing up on the scale as a weight gain or staying the same.

For the last two days, I added a bit more fat in my diet and that seemed to help.

I've been eating for the last week pretty much the exact same diet....

    shake for Breakfast

    shake for lunch

1/4 pound of extra lean turkey breast with balsamic vinegar and liquid aminos and about a 1/4 cup of 1% cottage cheese.

Boring I know, but I'm hardly ever hungry and this gets me to about 700 calories.

Had anyone else struggled this badly with BM? I've never had problems in this area in my life having always had a pretty high fat diet.

    Thanks!

  3. I agree!! Getting out of the house has helped immensely. I feel weak some of the time, but I don't know if that's a reality or just in my head because I know I'm not eating a lot. I am still feeling weepy from time to time though. I just try to tell myself that it's temporary and will pass. :)

I miss the social aspect of eating. And I think my husband misses it with me. But the weight loss and change in quality of life that I will get from this far outweighs any food I may be missing ????

  4. Thanks everyone for the positive answers!! I got out and about today in the sun and got a lot of stuff done, and no tears at all today! I am sure that it's the loss of food.....my old comfort. Plus, I agree that it could also have something to do with losing fat and the hormonal changes that go along with that. I'm sure this won't be the last time I feel weepy, but at least I will know how to battle it.

  5. Hi all......I was sleeved about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I thought I was doing OK....I've been following my diet recommendations and getting in as many liquids as I can. The last 3 days or so, I've been feeling sad and weepy. I have heard that many people suffer from depression after the surgery, but this seems so soon to be feeling blue. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am lucky where I haven't experienced any complications thank goodness and my recovery has been smooth.

  6. I was just sleeved on May 14th. The first few days were rougher than I expected them to be, but I have had small improvements everyday that I am sure will continue!

I have read on these forums that a lot of you sleevers have started taking Probiotics as a supplement. I read about them on line and found that a recent study at Stanford University showed that people who had WLS lost more weight when they took the probiotics.

I was not told by my surgeon or weight loss center to take them, but I would like to and I was wondering what those of you who do take them take for brand and dose and doses per day??

    Thanks!!

  7. I also has my surgery this week - Wednesday to be exact. I'm having terrible pain on my right side. Not even where my incisions are, but where I imagine my sleeve is. Today I was able to get down one ensure drink and 3 sugar free Popsicles. It's hard to go to the bathroom and wipe and its hard to sit down, get up and lay down. I feel like it's going to be forever until I feel better!!!

  8. Thank you all! I'm having quite a bit of pain in one of my stab sites. Makes it difficult to bend or get comfy in bed. Nausea had been the worst and they have given me several drugs to combat that<br> Never be afraid to ask. He found a hernia once he got in which didn't show up on the upper gi. I'm feeling much better today and I hope to feel even better tomorrow.

Hey ladybug, I feel exactly the same way! My incision sites are sore and sleeping is the worst! I'm on day 5 and getting my obnoxious drain removed today. Hope you feel better, let's keep in touch!

  10. Honestly, I only told my husband and a few close friends. My family has been dead set against it. What I find funny is that most of the people I have heard bashing the surgery have lots of weight to lose - as I do. I am keeping this to myself and I am thrilled that I am doing this for me. I need to be able to move again and to get my life back. There should be love and support around that decision.

  11. Hi everyone! I go in tomorrow morning at 5:45am for my sleeve surgery. I'm very excited! I should be only staying for one night. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on what I should bring to the hospital for an overnight bag? Are pj's pointless? I thought maybe some toiletries and a book and cell phone charger might do it. Is there anything you wish you has brought but didn't?
