Back to bad habits ! HELP

Hi Jay15, I personally don't keep any food triggers in my house because I know I would eat them. I suggest that you keep a stock pile of healthy Snacks that you are able to eat. This seems to work for me. Good luck to you.
  2. OMG Lou, you look amazing! Your journey has been a long one and I'm so happy for you. Like you, I was skeptical about getting the bypass. I started my weight loss journey 5 or 6 years ago. I went thru two different bariatric programs and then backed out at the last minute. Back in 2012 I had finally completed all the necessary appointments to have the surgery. When my surgeon's office called me to schedule my surgery I told them that I had decided to lose weight on my own. I managed to lose about 45 pounds but ended up gaining it all back. I finally decided to just have the bypass surgery. But when I went back to my doctor he told me about the sleeve. I knew the sleeve was for me. I was sleeved on 4/8/14. I am currently down 60lbs. I love my sleeve! I wish you all the best on your journey.

  5. Hey Tammy, I'm in the same boat. I am also 4 months out. I have lost a total of 58lbs so far and have gone from a size 20 to a 14. It looks like I'll be in a size 12 very soon. Good luck on your journey!

    Sleeves Are Like Cats

Oh Dondie I surely am not laughing at your pain but this post had me laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair at work. On a serious note, it sounds like you may be having gallbladder issues. I would have episodes like this, sometimes after only drinking water. The good thing is they removed my gallbladder when I had my sleeve surgery so no more tummy or back pains. Please have your gallbladder checked ASAP. Good luck to you.

    Quest protein chips

Thanks for posting. I was thinking about ordering the protein chips from Quest since chips are my weakness. After seeing this post I have decided to abort that idea, lol.

    Philly sleevers?

Hi there. I was sleeved on 4/8/14 by Dr. Aley Tohamy at Chestnut Hill Hospital. Dr. Tohamy has since transferred to Crozer Chester Medical Center in Chester PA where he currently works with Dr. Katz. I am actually going to the support group at Crozer this evening. Pre-op: 219 lbs, SW: 207 lbs, CW: 161 lbs. I've had about 2-3 stalls. I had difficulty getting in my water and protein early on but have been doing so much better lately. I work out about 4 days a week. My workouts vary between the treadmill, workout tapes and strength training (2x/week). Good luck to everyone!

    Wedding Dress Shopping

I agree with Marfar. You may have to get a size or two larger than you actually wear. This past Sunday, 8/17/14 I went with my friend to look for a dress for her upcoming wedding. Although my friend is a size 10, her dress is a size 14 (she has big boobs).

How to add fiber without grains or supplements?

I eat a small apple every day or every other day. I also put a tsp of chia seeds in my yogurt daily. I have no problem going and I don't feel bloated.

    Chewable Vitamins - HELP!

I use Flintstones complete with iron. I have the liquid multivitamin but I hate it so I don't take that. I used to take the calcium chews but they were too sweet for me. I am 4 months post op so I now just take the calcium pill.

    Buffet restaurants?

I try to avoid buffets since I know I will not get my money's worth of food. About a month after surgery I went to a buffet to celebrate my mom's birthday since buffets are her favorite (she weighs only 95 lbs). However, I won't go again because all of the different food smells made me nauseous.

    Gurgling, burping, tummy rolling

I am 4 months out from Sleeve surgery and still have all of these sounds. It doesn't bother me when I'm alone but it is very embarrassing when I'm around other people. My stomach is actually making the noises while I'm writing this post and I'm not even hungry, lol. I truly hope this doesn't last forever ????????
  15. I agree with Terry. Our surgeons & NUT gives us guidelines for a reason. I think you should stick with the program of your surgeon's office.
  16. I say do what you feel is best for you. They really don't have to know, especially since they already have a history of being non-supportive. I wish you all the best on your journey.

    SAGGY ASS

@ Chelenka: Although you may feel ashamed, I applaud you for putting him in his place. Sometimes we need to give people a little of their own medicine so they know how it feels. Maybe he will think twice before badmouthing others.
  19. If you follow the plan and put in the work/effort needed, you can definitely lose 100% of the weight. I was sleeved 4 months ago and have already lost 58 lbs. I have 36 more pounds to lose which will make 100% of my excess weight. And believe me, if I can do it, anyone can do it (with the help of the sleeve of course). I wish you all the best of luck on your journey.
  20. Hello HMJ. I'm sorry to hear that you are losing weight slower than you would like. Are you getting in the required daily amounts of protein and water? Are you exercising? You may need to talk with your surgeon and NUT to see if there is something you can do differently to help light a fire to your weight loss. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
  21. Molly you look fantabulous!!! How long did it take you to lose the weight?

    5 month post op.

Hey Nickole. You look great! How much weight did you lose and how long did it take you to lose it? You should probably update your profile because it still says that you've only lost 16 pounds which is obviously incorrect. I really don't have too much advice for the hair loss issue. I've been taking Biotin daily and trying to keep up my Protein intake. You may want to try a shampoo that doesn't have sulfates in it. Although my hair isn't falling out it is thinning which is bad because my hair was thin from the beginning. Good luck to you.

    Surgery april 8...excited!

Well hello there. Way to go! It seems that you are doing quite well, especially since you aren't exercising. Don't you worry, you will be in Onederland in no time. Keep up the good work. I am currently down 58 pounds in total. I'm trying to get down to 125 so I still have about 35 pounds more to lose.
