  1. I go to the dietician tomorrow so I will see what she says I am also concerned because the first week after surgery I lost 10 pounds the last two weeks I have lost 0 I know people stall butt mine happened as soon as I went to full liquids and had should and stuff my weight loss stopped! Also I never really feel full, ot if I think I am and stop later on a feel hungry a few hours later!

So far I am thinking this surgery maybe wasn't right for me I am extremely frustrated! :-/

  2. I an almost three weeks post op and I notice that when I have Soups made with milk ore drink milk that shortly afterwards I am very nauseous. I don't get sick but I feel terrible for about an hour.

I have never had any food allergies never had any milk problems but that is the only thing I can think of that has these nauseous times in common with each other. Yogurt doesn't sit well in my stomach either, and cheese is about 50/50. Anyone else have this issue?

Can you have cream Soups or just the clear broth and stuff?

  5. I had my surgery on Thursday June 19, 2014. I was released on Saturday and I have to say, Friday, Saturday, Sunday AND Monday I was miserable. Bad case of buyers remorse! But here it is Tuesday and I feel fine. The Protein Shakes make me gag but I can stomach them for a while! Glad I did this!

I had my surgery the same day and was released the same day! However I can't start Protein shakes till Friday when I start full liquids. I am on ckear liquids this first week.

  6. On my last day of stage 1. For me that meant liquids only. So Water (of course), Popsicles, Jello, broth, and towards the end of that week I added Protein Drinks. Won't lie, I am starved!

This is what I am still on and mentally it drives me crazy. I do this for a week then I can add in Protein Shakes, Soup, and other liquids for two more weeks I am not supposed to have soft or pureed food for three weeks after surgery and I am only 6 days post op today going insane this is almost as bad as the pre diet except no hunger pains

  7. Thank u all...i had a serious meltdown...smh

Everyone does. Just check and see what your diet is and what it should be. I know ny husband has similar issues not losing weight and he seen his dietician and she said he actually wasn't eating enough. He needed 800-900 calories and at least 60 grams of Protein. Or else his body was going into starvation mode where it holds on to calories and Water and you can gain weight or not lose.

Our bodies are amazing at what they can do. If you really are always exhausted check in with your doctor your body maybe telling you something is wrong.... best wishes

  8. Could someone tell me what is the procedure like on the date of surgery, do they take blood test, urine, blood pressure etc?

I just had my surgery Thursday. That morning before surgery they checked my temperature, blood pressure, and had me take a pregnancy test. That was it. I signed my papers and they gave me some meds to relax rolled me back to or told me I was going under then I woke up when someone called my name. Now they still are watching my blood pressure temperature and blood oxygen levels every fee hours and while on iv fluids they measured how much a peed butt that's it. My husband had surgery and her is diabetic shi he also had his blood sugar levels taken every fee hours. Rally it's not bad and right now I don't miss any food!

  9. My husband got his gastric bypass surgery on may 29th and was doing really well until we got home. Now he has a lot of pain on his left side under his belly button. He can't sit to long or walk. He is still on strong pain meds. Any advice?

Doctor said its his abdominal wall because it was decently large and time helps but he has about one more week to get back to work which is a mildly physical job. Any advice?

  10. Everyone is different and telling or not depends on your relationship with the person you want to tell. At first I wasn't sure who I wanted to tell. I wanted my parents and in laws knowing and then a few close friends. Now I have it on my Facebook and count down for everyone to see. My husband has surgery on May 29th and I have surgery on June 19th, three weeks apart.

I did need the accountability for my carb and sugar addiction, plus I wanted my friends that I am always going out to eat with to understand why I will not be going anymore. I also wanted my ladies church group to know and plan some physical activities and stuff instead of just dinners, Snacks, ice cream nights ect. And they have! So telling has benefited us.

    Good luck to us all!
