Amylynns I am sorry. Not nice. I had a coworker tell me the other day. You need to be careful on what you eat because so & so did this surgery & she lost alot of weight at first and now she is big again. I told her yes some people have different situations then I asked her why dont you do this surgery it could really help your diabetes & Cpap. I didnt realize but I think she is envious that I am losing & healthy.

@@Janett09 How was the hospital? Clean, sterile technique etc... I mentioned this to my husband & he said no because Mexico has different laws (I am sure less then the US). He was concerned about staph-mrsa, hep C etc...

On the B1, just wondering how much B1 did you take before your 3 month blood test ?I am sure your multi Vitamin had some? How did you take your Vitamin. Once or twice per day? I know some people take 2 together, etc.

Beni I took a womens complete vitamin but I have no clue how much B1 was in it. My B1 was not low at my 6 month preop labs. Hmmm

That is so interesting I researched Thiamine/B1 and its in breads. I used to eat lots of bread makes me wonder because I eat no bread if my body is in some sort of shock. I dont want to add bread to my diet until I reach my goal weight.

My PCP did my lab work at 3 months. I guess it was supposed to be done at 6 months. I have the best pcp in the world so im glad she is keeping a close eye on me. Everything was excellent except (had to know that was coming haha) my B12 is sky high and my B1 way low. I now have to supplement with a B1 Vitamin. Has any of you guys had this issue? Rechecking my B1 level in 6 weeks.

I have learned if I eat meat that is to dry. I get sick. I have eaten steak medium rare 3 times & have had no problems. I ate japanese food once from a food court at a mall & vomited. It was awful. Staying away from Chinese & Japanese food.

3 months on the 1st. I am down 77 lbs & have 90 pounds to lose to meet my goal weight. I feel awesome!

When I meet my goal weight if my insurance wont cover this. I am seriously considering Mexico.

I have found my coworkers in my unit are envious of my weight loss. They act like I have been given special treatment or something. I ignore them but I can feel the resentment. Is this normal behavior?

I tried some white chocalate with mint on a pretzel 2 nights ago. It was very good & I did not get sick. It was about 2 small bites.

I quit diet coke when I started my 2 day clear liquid diet before my surgery. With everything you go through after surgery you wont miss it. Now that I am 2 1/2 months out. My nutrtionist says I can have coffee & tea 1 to 2 times a week. Keep it low fat & sugar free. I have not had any but I like the fact that I can. Haha

OMG! My surgery was Oct 1st as well. I am down only 31 pounds. You have done amazingly well. Do you mind if I ask what your start weight was?

305 surgey day weigh in. Today I have hit the magical 100 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight.

Hmmm I find this interesting. I have not dumped except a few times I have frothed & vomited clear mucous. 1st time I ate a piece of turkey I cooked & was miserable. 2nd time was a peice of roast beef I cooked. 3rd time was a scrambled egg with spam & cheese. I either over ate, the texture of the meat made me sick or it was to dry. Im not sure but the feeling is awful.

I am 2 months out & I have thrown up a few times. I think the texture of the food gets me, eating to fast or to much. I am measuring everything now. Nothing more then 2 ounces. Yesterday I made Beans & tolerated it well. My Protein Shake & Water goes down fine.

I have been eating every 3 hours on average but I worry about stalling. If you eat to much you stall if you eat to little you stall.

My nutrisionist said to eat 1-3 ounces every 2-4 hours. Surgery date October 1st. I am down 64 lbs from HW & 37 pounds from SW. Sometimes I wonder if I am on track.

Does anyone know what are the correct parts of your body to measure? I have just been measuring everywhere.

Layknee I had one incision reopen twice. I put peroxide on it then antibiotic ointment. Pulled it together & placed a bandaid on it daily. It finally healed. It was very frustrating because I wanted to do stuff & not worry about it.

Anyone foaming?

I've had three cases of "foamies" after eating chicken or turkey. Sometimes it's okay, sometimes it goes terribly wrong. Most recently tonight. It's a weird sensation where my mouth is filling with saliva and my stomachs feels something stuck uncomfortably. Then it starts this whole burping swallowing burping cycle until I either vomit or get through it. I feel like a cat with a hairball!

Yes this happened to me last night after I ate salmon for dinner. I kept spitting & equaled up vomiting. I only had an ounce. I figured I ate to fast or didnt chew it enough. I have had salmon before & did fine. It is a very unpleasant feeling.

Totally normal! :-) Did your co-workers know what you were having done?

Yes they knew. It went fine lots of compliments & stares but I survived. Lol

My first day back to work today. Its a short shift but I am so nervous. I have not seen my co workers since surgery. Worried about how my scrubs are going to fit & the stares I am going to get. Why am I having all these worries?
