  1. I have compassion for anyone struggling after surgery. I hear stretching and revisions are a rare occurrence. Sorry to hear this was your situation.
  2. __________________________________________________________________________________ The video makes sense to me. I can be wrong here....But I don't see the photo as a representation of stomach stretching. I see it as the normal process. Restriction is tight right after surgery. First few months you are only able to consume small amounts. You are able to eat more food as you heal and as time progresses. The stomach in the photo is still not the size of a pre surgery stomach. Pre surgery size stomach photo below Thanks for the post @Creekimp13 _____________________________________________________________________________________
  3. All great advice above. Music with any physical activity. None of us get to avoid life's stresses. I used music as I walked to process my mother passing from cancer. My workout time is when I process even normal daily stress/emotions. I use stress and anger to my advantage. I listen to more aggressive music (lol) I find myself keeping pace without noticing. I sweat and feel amazing after. Also reaped the benefits of faster weight loss..Bonus!
  4. Not that I'm trying to put this person in a bad light...I just don't understand.... https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/411819-panicking/
  5. I hope you received diet progression instructions from your surgeon. Did you get a protein goal to hit?
  6. My restriction is still there and working after 4 years. Statistics I've seen say revisions are rare. I have compassion for anyone who has had a large weight gain or complications. The sleeve stretching scenario leaves me baffled. Are the mental health evaluations identifying eating disorders pre surgery? Are surgeons offices/medical community intervening if someone is binge eating past capacity repeatedly?(stretching their sleeve) Do people confuse stretching their sleeve with grazing? It's not that the sleeve has stretched. Grazing is not eating past the feeling of restriction. Grazing: Consuming poor food choices and/or excessive calories in many meals over, over and over throughout the day. The amount of calories would be as if you never had surgery. The weight would come right back. any thoughts?
  7. Currently 301. 200's coming your way...You are doing great! changing to do more physical activity can be done. Motivation is something we all have to find for ourselves. What motivates me may not motivate you. Many days I had to force myself to get activity in. I was a true couch potato. A large reason I was so overweight and my health was in decline. I always put other people first..Work, kids husband etc. After surgery, I made myself a priority. Third month I had a large stall. I had to admit to myself I needed to get real about my exercise commitment. Exercise has made a difference in my weight loss. Working out doesn't mean it has to be high impact. If it's cold outside a treadmill in you home, walk a mall or a gym membership works well. Workout videos, weights at home...Lots of options. Celebrate and give yourself credit for what you have accomplished.
  8. All great advice above. All I'm going to add is be consistent. If you slip up get back on your plan.
  9. If there was an issue with your liver pre surgery your surgeon's office would have said something by now. The liver shrinking diet is normal pre surgery. Follow the instructions.
  10. You are right. It's wise to make eating healthy sustainable long term. Many healthy options at fast food places. Low carb burger, grilled chicken, salads. etc...
  11. Congrats on your weight loss! You will break this stall. It's frustrating. Keep working your plan. Never have to diet again even after surgery? It's a lifetime of learning to eat and live healthy.
  12. You said That doesn't mean i'm not a good person *laughing* WTF??? Never said you were not a good person...????? You said "find someone who would like you at any size makes me laugh." I can rephrase it if this helps - " find someone who is attracted to " whatever size you currently are" Because that size is going to change rapidly. I'm confused. How did being shallow have anything to do with this. *laughing* We are attracted to who we are attracted to.
  13. More important to find a good man that treats you well and likes you at whatever size you are. That size is going to change rapidly. Something to think about..... Will you be attracted to the same type of men? Will your preferences in men change as you lose weight? What type of men will you have things in common with once you are 148?
  14. Sorry of your struggle with this. The original poster is looking for people that don't have to deal with the Stress/emotional and addictive eating.
  15. Get down and dirty girl! lol Check off that bucket list.
  16. It's not always stress/emotional eating or addictions that make you obese. People gain weight when they eat more calories than they burn through activity. This imbalance is the greatest contributor to weight gain. Other factors: poor nutrition education/misinformation Your location : Lack of access to healthy food choices Genetics/family history medical conditions medications life style and habits lack of activity/mobility issues Aggressive food marketing and availability of poor quality food. Even if you don't have the food addiction or stress/emotional eating. You still have to make changes to whatever got you to the point of having surgery. https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/adult/causes.html https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/obesity/conditioninfo/cause
  17. The winco ceviche is one of my favorites in the summer. Ohh sooo good
  18. Market side has a variety of fresh steamable veggies. to many to list. I like the french steamed green beans with sliced almonds and real bacon bits Fresh squeeze herbs makes easy prep
  19. 101 uses with these - fajitas - alfredo chicken and veggies - stir fry - Bagged and frozen Chicken or beef Grilled chicken.
  20. Canned chicken, crab, shrimp Smoked salmon Frozen or deli shrimp Winco deli crab shrimp ceviche
  21. I regret being obese. I was miserable. physical activity was a struggle. My health was in decline. I missed out on activities and things in life due to my weight. I hated buying clothing in plus size stores. I'm almost four years out..... Absolutely no regrets having surgery. I have my health back. I'm in the best shape of my life. Eating healthy is still flavorful and just my normal life. Enjoying life, having adventures and making up for lost time.
