  1. I married a wonderful man. Loose skin is not an issue. We chase each other around like teenagers. Sent from my SM-G920T using the BariatricPal App
  2. @@theladyslipper The honeymoon ends when you realize this takes work. For others it will last longer. Its a great high.
  3. @@ChronicJam You have put in a lot of hard work. Might be time to change things up a bit to stop the weight holding pattern If you are working out..Delete my post... Make your workouts count. SWEAT! Leave your workout winded. Push the resistance. Never do the same activity over and over. Calories in/calories out.
  4. I'm 2 years out. do you still have the benefit of getting full faster / with less food? I still have good restriction and feel the sensation of full. Now that your stomach is kind of back to a bigger size, do you feel it is all on you to eat well and exercise, or do you think the sleeve is helping you long term? Combination of both. The surgery does not do the weight loss for you. It is your commitment to the life style changes that keep the weight off. The surgery helps me feel less hungry.......I cannot eat a big meal even if I tried. Eating healthy and exercise is normal for me now. would you be OK without the surgery.? I would be still struggling with obesity and health problems without my surgery. Do I worry about, e.g. Vitamins, drinking Water too fast, money back from surgery (if applicable)? Understand life is normal and uneventful after you hit your weight loss goal.. I live, eat and play just like everyone else in the world. People I meet have no idea I had surgery. They just see me eat healthy and take care of myself.
  5. @@glitter eyes The sizes are a bit weird on me. I had to try them on. In a size small my skin didn't want to cooperate. I went a size up and it worked so much better.
  6. @@Inner Surfer Girl I see her video as advertisement to gain clients for her business. Trying to convince her audience that her professional opinion and resources are the end all and be all of the bariatric community.
  7. @@KindaFamiliar I could do a commercial directed at bariatric patients..Watch how I tuck my skin inside shapewear.
  8. Not promoting a product..Just a good shopping find. I found this at Burlington Coat Factory. $9.99 Firm fabric,Hook eye and zip front. This has worked better for me than spanx.
  9. @@melyssafaye I'm not trying to be the food cop here.... All of our instructions about carbs in weight loss phases are different. 1/4th cup oatmeal has 150 calories... 27g carbohydrates..
  10. @@Sandedia Its absolutely possible to build muscle after surgery. I'm two years out. I still work out 3 times a week. My maintenance looks a bit different from others. I burn 1000 calories running. Days I workout I eat 2100 calories 150g Protein 200g carbs. With a bariatric stomach it takes all day to get my food in . Days I don't workout..1300 calories and low carb.
  11. @@melyssafaye I eat jimmy dean turkey sausage links for Breakfast. It might be a bit heavy.....even if you chew it well. Its worth a shot.

  13. @@Lisa_85 You have accomplished so much. Congrats. Self esteem can take a beating from all the negative message we have received. Changing that inner voice is part of the challenge with weight loss. Learn to love/like yourself in your new body.. Your inner voice is the only validation you need. With rapid weight loss, your body image can become a bit distorted. Your appearance is a big change. For some of us, we hid from cameras and mirrors before weight loss. It takes time for your mind to catch up. counseling is an option
  14. @@KarenRene Your tummy is new.. Most of us felt full easily after surgery. It gets better with time. Take out your list of foods. Figure out what you like and can tolerate at each diet stage. Hitting your Protein and Water goals is important to stay nourish and hydrated. I didn't understand. What you were trying to say about eating meat and cutting out the sides....?????
  15. @@Kelly84 I'm older and down over 100 pounds. My saggy skin will not tighten up without plastic surgery. (It's actually not as bad as I thought it would be) Lotions may help stretch marks. If you are lucky or young enough, your skin may bounce back a bit.
  16. @ Just a matter of googling Look up if you have local stores. If you want to order online...BariatricPal has a store. Many product to try. ( see me promote this site..lol)

  21. @ Yes..Supplements for life. They are prescribed. You get nutrients from whey isolate Protein in the first phase (liquid diet) You progress to real foods as your stomach heals from surgery. All of the food stages provide nutrients. I'm a type one diabetic. I hardly use insulin. My A1C has been great after surgery.
  22. @@sassyfrass23 Good or bad,I'm an adult..I decided to give it a try.. I started waist training at 180lbs. It is a body modification. It will move your rib cage and bones etc. I went through two corsets. Moving to a smaller corset down was due to my weight loss. The loose skin will always be in my mid section. When I wear a corset the skin will move outside the top or bottom of the corset. It was not a good look on me. I had better results from working my core weight training. Under my loose skin is an actual waist. I can accentuate it with spnax. They do make work out corsets that target the waist...I never tried it due to the bulging skin at 135 pounds..lol https://www.orchardcorset.com/shapewear/tecnomed-workout-waist-cincher-0657/
  23. @@NatashaSaysRawr check with your dietician Healthy carbohydrates will be added back in to your diet after you have reached 75% of your weight loss.
