Research get's addicting pre op,
I went to my pre op class and a lot of the other sleever's were so young. Go them! Obesity is a disease. It dose progress. You might not have health issues now. But what about in the long term? Yes, its a serious choice. I would not tell anyone what they should or should not do. Dig in and enjoy your research!
wishing you the best!

congratulations! No one promised this was going to be easy. Just keep thinking of the long term goals and what this is going to do for you. Celebrate the little wins for now! This is a big celebration day today. You were brave enough to make this change for your life. You deserve it.
I'm so happy for you,

You probably already know your body needs Protein to build muscle. When you don't get enough protein, your body will start breaking down muscle to get what it needs. Your organs and bones are also at risk. You may also suffer from compromised immune function if you don't get enough protein, and you may feel easily fatigued without the energy to carry out your daily activities and exercise. Greater risk of exercise-related injury is also associated with protein deficiency, as is slow wound healing. If your goal is weight loss, don't skimp on protein; compared to fat and carbohydrate, protein is the most satiating of the macronutrients, meaning it will help fill you up and keep you feeling full so you avoid overeating and food cravings.

I have my sleeve surgery on June 2nd. I'm set up the same as you. a liquid diet one day before surgery. Even allows for 7up with sugar. I'm a diabetic I avoid soda lol. Well I know its there if I have low blood sugar. I guess we have to consider ourselves lucky.
the anticipation is incredible right?
Here's to a healthy and speedy recovery,
Jenn

For people that are doing a pre-op liquid diet, are you guys doing your Vitamins already too? I just find it so weird that I wasn't instructed to do a liquid diet before my surgery...

I'm feeling better! thanks for all the info. I'm just so close to surgery and I'm over thinking things. Good to know you both are doing well. I need that positive kick in the butt sometimes.

Wow,
If you don't mind me asking. What brings on the highs. Is it just body chemistry postoperative?
Thanks again,

Thanks so much for the response. Im not on a pump. I do take novalog 7 units with each meal. And lantus 40 units twice a day. I have been dropping to lows and adjusting them with reducing the amount of insulin. I just have to get into the mindset this is just going to come with the wls. Do you have highs as well?
Thanks again,
Jenn

Having a panicky day. Just trying to take it all in. Glad to see that all of us getting ready for the big surgery day. Interesting to see that the pre op diet is different for people that have posted. I only have a week of pre op diet. Every thing is racing through my mind today. I know that I have made the right choice. I started at 254 I'm at 241 last weigh in. I'm on a c-pap, High blood pressure, Triglycerides are high, and I'm a diabetic type 1. I cant believe I've done this to myself. I am so determined to get healthy. can't wait to be waking up in a recovery room at the hospital. See you all on the other side of surgery soon. we can do this!

Question for type one diabetic sleeve. How did you do on the pre op diet? I'm having lows even now before I get to the liquid diet. trying to control it with sf apple sauce and healthier choices other than real sugar. ( I don't want dumping syndrome) Am I over thinking all this out of nerves? thanks again,Jenn1

Hey,
Great to find people in Idaho. My sugery with Dr. Oakley is set for June 2nd. Everything seems to be going so quickly. I can't wait to be a year out. I found a trainer near my home. Working out has always been hard in this body. I need that kick in the butt sometimes.
Hope all is well
