My Story + No Support From Wife

@@BA-Fan Sorry to hear about you're situation. For me it was about saving and prolonging my life. I had to make a decision before it was too late. I don't take my life or health for granted. Some things to think about: Would it be worse for you're wife to be in the situation to deal with you're death and figuring out life on her own? OR Would it be easier for her to be uncomfortable with you're decision..and who knows she might be inspired to change. Anyway..my two cents for what ever that's worth:) Jenn

What's with all the "diet" food?

Diet food? Humm I just eat well. I am a type one diabetic. My sugar drops I eat sugar to bring it back up. To manage my diabetes I also work with a dietitian and YES carbs are allowed for my situation. I eat brown rice, wheat bread and potato. All in small amounts. My bulk of my meal is meats/protein. I now hardly use insulin. I seem to have more low blood sugar moments with surgery. I never go crazy on sugar or carbs. Mostly sugar free deserts. It's all a balance to keep my blood sugar and fitness level managed. Love the world according to egg face and I attend amazing bariatric cooking classes through my hospital after care. Food is fantastic. I just no longer abuse food. I use it to nourish and fuel my body.

  10. @@hkdontplay You have done fantastic. I'm also starting to look into plastics. I held most of my weight in my mid section. The loose skin I can deal with for now. But it does effect what I can wear and running. I have to pay myself. Taking off time I will have to work out. New employer who does not know I was morbidly obese. and none of there business.
  11. @@CowgirlJane I am right there with the group. It has stalled out. I thought I had this figured out and did not log my food. I was eating right but not getting enough Protein in. I went back to logging. I even upped the amount of protein and Water.. And the scale is moving again. Slowly but I will take that. I have reached goal I'm still struggling to figure out when to stop loosing. My head is still in that mode. I keep telling myself if I loose about 5 to 10 more I will have a safer bounce area to maintain. So am I loosing reality of this or am I in the norm?

    7 months and a size....what

@@Kathy812 I have had most of my weight drop in the first few month's. It was dropping about 10-15 pounds and it has slowed down now. Exercise was a requirement at first for me. It changed into something that makes me feel good and I take my stress out at the gym. ( I no longer cope with stress by eating) Exercise before surgery was none. After surgery I walked 30 minuets on my treadmill about 3 day's a week. With the weight coming off I was able to up my walking to an hour about 5 days a week. At three months out my treadmill became boring. I sold it on craigslist and bought a gym membership. At four months I was at the gym for an hour doing cardio. I switch up my cardio so my body does not get the chance to hold on to the weight long. (elliptical machine, lateral machine and jogging on a treadmill) I pushed up the resistance as I got stronger. I also added weight lifting three days a week for a half hour. What a difference. I have found that not only do i exercise because I physically can. Now it is something I love. (who knew) I am working with my trainer at the gym. I still do an hour of cardio. I am also lifting for an hour 3 days a week. I completed a 10K now working up to a half marathon. I kayak and snow shoe. I love to stay active. Find activities you have fun doing. Also find what motivates you. If you enjoy music get a good play list while you work out. Plenty of fitness websites and app's to look into for Ideas. I hope you are surprised by what you're body is able to do. If you have time check back in. I would love to see how things progress for you.

    7 months and a size....what

@@Kathy812 Oh yes, many stalls. The weight loss has never been a steady drop. It plateaus, it may go up a few then the weight drops again. You are doing great. How has you're weight loss been?
  14. Every morning. Keeps me on track. I'm not upset when I bounce a few pounds.( up or down) I know it will move again . It's helping me to understand maintenance.

    Question for "well-endowed" ladies...

Oh my, I'm only a D cup. I'm still a D cup. My band went from a 42 to a 34. Anyway that is how it worked out for me. And just heads up. I had my Mammogram and they found a change ( expected after the girl's are deflated) This seems to be common with rapid weight loss. Just glad it was not cancer.

Just need someone to vent to

@@Aribay1 It will take time for you're mind to catch up with you're body. I do work with a therapist on my body issues. Some of us adapt quicker to recognize what we look like. I still see a distorted version of me. But I'm working on it. You are almost to Onderland!!!!! Celebrate big. You have earned every pound lost. I hope you kept some clothing from before surgery. They are good to put back on and remind you of how far you have come. Wishing you the best, Jenn

    Hmmmmmm...

Funny how many sizes i have been while loosing. I look at pictures of me and the clothing is hanging and I had no clue. I could have never gotten away with not buying new workout pants. I have almost lost my pants at the gym. Good luck to you. A new clothing size is a good time to reward yourself. Enjoy!

    Dare to Dream

My little day dreams seem to happen at the gym while i'm listening to my music mix. Mostly about summer day's and nights. My most recent day dream is what am I going to do for my husband for valentines day. I'm currently on the hunt for a hot (dare I say it out loud SEXY) red dress. Just day dreaming about things in the future keeps me on track. Mostly keeps my mind on getting me through the cold of winter. Here's to all of us and sunny days!
