  1. I had my surgery on 8-19-2014. I'm so weak, I can only make it to the bathroom and back to bed. I don't like the taste of anything. Everything taste too sweet or like i'm gonna get heartburn. Someone please help me. My hands have broken out, due to severe itching. I can't stop itching. And I am soooooo weak. I just don't know what to do?de25

I was just like you. My itching was due to my pain medicine and once I was done taking it the itching went away. Benadryl helped a little. I still don't like sweet things. The thought of anything chocolate makes my stomach pucker because I had a chocolate Protein Shake early on and I got sick. Had my surgery on the 5th and had to take 3 weeks off I was so weak. I still don't have energy like I should but I'm getting there. Work takes all my energy right now. It gets a little better everyday.

  2. I had my sleeve 8/5 and I have no energy at all. Headaches sometimes . Upset stomach frequently. I'm still on liquids til the 20th and there's so much I can't even stand the thought of drinking...feels like my stomach puckers at the thought of some things. Makes no sense I know...it's frustrating but I know it won't always be like this.

  3. I had Lapband in 2009. Lost 108 lbs in less than 2 years but also got acid reflux really severe and had to take most of the Fluid out to alleviate it. Started gaining again and put most of the weight back on when I had them put more fluid back in it made me miserable and I'd throw up and have acid reflux again. They sent me for testing and it slipped. They took all fluid out n waited to see if it would correct itself. It didn't. They said it had to come out. And did I want to explore other options? I went with the sleeve and it was hard decision to make because I never wanted a permanent surgery and when my band worked I loved it but without anything I would've ended up being one of those people whod never leave their bed because I'd be 600 lbs someday. I knew myself well enough and how bad my eating was unrestricted . They removed my band in may and it was slipped even further than when they found it and I had scar tissue on my stomach from it also. Sleeve surgery was 8/5/14 and so far so good. Typical pain and after surgery issues but everyday is a little better. I don't regret my band. Wish it would've worked out differently and I learned a lot. But I have peace this time that I made the right decision. Don't know if this helps ya or not.

  4. I worried a lot too about all the what ifs and about my kids if something happened. I think that's normal. Had my surgery Aug 5th and am glad I did it. Still in pain because they had to remove a lot of scar tissue from my previous gallbladder and Lapband surgeries. The surgeon said my stomach was thick and scarred from the Lapband slipping. Had to stay longer in the hospital than planned But overall it went well. everyday gets a little bit better.

  5. My name is holly 34 divorced 11 yr old daughter and a 13 year old son they are my world. I work at a middle school in cafeteria during the school year and custodial in the summer. My parents are the biggest part of my support system. Don't know what I'd do without them.

I love classic cars (I have a lime green 73 nova) music (mostly rock) and tattoos (i have 13)

I had lap band surgery in Oct 2009. Highest weight was 306. Lost 50 pre op and 58 after surgery. Started having problems and slowly the weight creeped back on. I weighed 282 when they decided it needed to come out. They removed it may 13 2014. I decided to go with the sleeve and they called me Tuesday and said surgery Aug 5th. I had lost 12 lbs on dieticians diet and they said I'm good to go. Super excited for the next chapter of my life

  7. I am in the process of getting my surgery hoping for end of August. Reading all of you top tens are all amazing and I can relate to most of them.. Here are mine!

    1. Be able to have children

    2. To never wear plus sized clothes again

    3. To feel confident in a pair of jeans and not worry about rolls hanging over. Or feel like I'm being suffocated. Yoga pants have been my friend for far too long!

    4. To not have to worry where I sit in public places because I'm scared I won't fit!

    5. To travel by plane and not have to ask for a seatbelt extender.

    6. To get a half sleeve tattoo.. Wouldn't think of getting one now with these jumbo arms!

    7. To explore many positions with my man! ;)

    8. To not always be the straggler in the group because I can't walk as fast as everyone!

    9. I've always wanted to be able to do a push up! May not be a big deal to others but it is to me!

    10. My best friend is getting married next year and I am in the wedding with 4 skinny minis and I want to feel confident standing up there beside everyone!

I hear ya on the yoga pants! It's all I ever wear because all my jeans are too small! Can't wait to wear jeans comfortably again. And the half sleeve tattoo I will do also when I hit my goal weight. Been wanting that for a couple of years now...

Surgery date is set for august 5th. My mom's birthday!
