    Just curious

6 tiny holes and I had sleeve.
  2. I'm insulted I started out at 348. I am exactly 5'7". I Lost weight preop down to 312lbs. My surgery was the same day as yours 11-4. As of my last dr visit on 12-22 I was 279 giving me a total post op loss of only 33lbs. Between 12-22 and today I have lost 2 lbs as per my home scale. Why do you feel that you should be down more? I hardly eat and continue to have difficulty getting in Protein and liquids. I am still on diet restrictions and can just start to add in things like fish or chicken starting tomorrow. There are many things within your post that made me think wow did I type that and forget? Similarities height, weight, surgery day, amount lost thus far issues getting in Proteins and things until u talked to the nut. And yet I was only joking about being insulted. I refuse to be insulted. I look at things positive. Rather than saying I have only lost 2 lbs. I think wow I have lost 32oz. In my last visit the dr said I was above average and was thrilled with the scale print out. So why not focus on the positive things and work toward your goals. 30lbs lost is much better than a 30lb gain in my book any day! hugs of support

    Feeling a little down.!

Chin up sunshine. you can do this. Just think every pound lost is 16oz that wasn't gained. Never measure yourself against others as we are all different. A food diary will help. Sometimes we don't realize the calories until everything is actually written down in black and white. It will help. Can you add fish to your diet? That might give you new options and help brighten things up. Also. Vitamins take your meds honey chewable and make sure to get a supplement for d. I also take a b complex as prescribed by dr. Hope you are feeling top shape soon.

    Gastric Bypass VS Sleeve

My choice to go with the sleeve was because although I would be making an alteration to my body. Everything would remain the same. Food would continue to follow the natural order of digestion HOWEVER I would simply be missing about 85% of my stomach. I wanted to keep the basic order of things the same. Another reason, 2 family members and a very dear friend had great success with the sleeve. My dr said either would be ok for me. presurgery 348 surgery day 312 and today I'm 277 yahoo! Look at me go haha.

    2 week post

Depends on your plan/dr/nuts instructions. At 2 wks post op I was just starting full liquid. So I could have 1/4 cup milk or juice. Or cream based soup as long as everything was strained. Wish I could offer more help bit it really depends on your dr.

    Protein help

Greek yogurt, add unflavored protein mix to things you like or in mushy foods, I'm 9wks and still struggling to find balance with the new wAy of eating. It certainly is a learning curve. I have yet to master this and battle myself to get in liquids and proteins. I hope that tomorrow will be a changing day as I will step into my new food phase which allows fish and chicken. Focus on hi protein things. Doesn't have to be just a protein drink. Get it any way you can that's allowed in your plan. wishing you all the best
  7. sorry your having issues with H2O. I am 9 weeks and sti don't handle water very well if at all. Two spa and my new tummy is growling with threAts of returning the content to the outer world I do realize that this seems to be common as I'm not the first nor will I be the last to have this issue. I simply keep trying every few days in hopes that the new tummy will find peace with the natural fluid . Hope you feel better. Hugs of support.

    Don't know my size...

amen! I'm down over 60 in total and I agree hit up a consignment shop and just try things on first. Get. Few things to hold you over while your still loosing. I refuse to spend to a of money on things I'll hopefully shrink out of soon. Take it slow and easy. I did spurge this weekend and bought one pair of pants from Old navy for a few reasons 1 they were on sale. 2 they are size 20 and I was in a 26-28. And 3 they are SKINNY jeans! I don't think I've ever fit into anything "skinny" in my life! Lol

    Grapes and salad

What does your guide say? Or dr/nut. Everyone has different food phases it seems each dr has their own. I am 9wks and can just now start to have chicken, fish, or lean ground beef. I can't have salad or any raw veggies or fruit for over another month. I'm just excited to have a small piece of grilled samon tomorrow!

    Eggs are bad

I can feel your pain! I totally understand. I have gotten sick more times than I had hoped. Not because I ate too much or too fast. Simply because my tummy wasn't ready for whatever new phase I was starting. I learned to try one tiny bite and then wait to see how the tummy reacted. There are things that simply no longer set well with me eggs being one of the things. I seem to handle a poached egg better thAn a scrambled egg. But again in very limited portions. Hope you feel better and stay with the actual purée things. I even can handle a soft scrambled egg puréed better than without chopping it In my little chopper. Hugs if support!

    november sleevers.

Sleeve date 11-4. Down 33 lbs. Pre surgery shirt was 4 or 5 xl with size 26-28 jeans Yesterday I shopped on sale at OLD NAVY! Got a size 20 skinny jeans and a nice black sweater to keep warm. Loving the progress so far. Got the signed letter from my surgeon so I could join the gym ( they wouldn't allow me to join without letter) so I'll be ready for the cardio class on Wednesday! Can't wait to feel things burning on the inside.
  12. I agree I'll be 9wks tomorrow and I simply don't think my tummy would handle a salad. Although I do miss a good salad. All good things come to those who wait

    What's really going on here

Just for added info I'm not having the crackers except for maybe two should i allow myself Peanut Butter as I'm not allowed any raw veggies yet. What I am actually eating is veggies... Such as soft cooked cabbage, broc, spinach, I allow myself cottage cheese or occasionally a pepper jack cheese stick which has 5 grams of Protein. And Protein drinks as well as Greek yogurt . I am unable to do just plain Water without adding some kind of crystal light or something of that nature. I keep a log of food mainly because I'm finding the things which I am unable to eat without getting sick so they are off the list. First surprise was egg. I have issues eating an egg... Soft scrambled or poached any type seems an issue for me. As for exercise I should add that I'm a supervisor in a large distribution center. On average I'm walking 2-6 miles per day just on a light day during normal work hours. I'm wanting to add in the gym time so that I can simply up my caloric burn to help in this process. Simply because this is part of my normal day and I still consider myself fat I'm wanting to add in something to burn calories Thank you for the info. It is appreciated.

    My first goal met!

Congrats on your success this far! What a way to start the new year! Wishing you all the best.
  15. Keep up the good work. Until you are on the actual preop plan you can always alter your eating. As my insurance required I loose prior to surgery I changed my eating. I would have Protein drink for breakfast and soup for lunch. If I needed something before I would drink juice. Sometimes I would get a salad for lunch. The. I would allow myself a light evening meal like tuna on lettuce or a salad. I did this faithfully. I would sometime allow myself "real" eating but only on special occasions. It helped get me ready for my journey ahead as well as start me on the loosing path Wishing you all the best

    I've been denied :(

Yahoo! Doing The happy dance for you!
  17. Sounds like the same thing my Mom had to do. Maintain and not loose. She lost a bit and her nut advised to to be careful because she could work herself out of the surgery.! so she watched her weight and was careful not to loose .
  18. Was ok on my diet. I could even have egg drop soup if I wanted to stain out all the egg drops lol. I think Swanson makes several flavored on chicken broth. I found them yummy and gave me a bit of variety. Also consider making your own veggie broth from things U enjoy. wishing you the best!

Scared to Death for Post Op

Calm your fears. It's like like a rollercoaster of emotions that your on right now. And in a year or even 6 months your gonna look back and say "self" what were you so worried about?. I'm just past 8wks and I too am one who had zero zilch nadda first issue with pain. I would question if the surgeon even did anything at all if I didn't have the places that were stapled. I was a witchy person post op due to the anesthesia makes me an ugly person! I have battled nausea and been sick more times than I would like. However that being said it is a learning curve and realized that my tummy simply wasn't ready to progress on to a new food phase. I have a great surgeon who provided me with zofran and phenagrin to help. He was also there anytime I had a concern. As said above it is NOT the same getting sick post op as it was preop! I wasn't scared going into surgery. I did my research. I felt confident in my surgeon and I had a positive outlook. I went in with the "I can" mind set. I worked Monday. Surgery Tuesday and was up walking that day. Walked 1/2 mile on Wed, then a full mile up and down the halls before getting released to go home. The nurse advised me I was the best sleeve patient she had and that I didn't act like I just had major surgery. I was driving on Friday as long as I wasn't on pain meds and then Back to work on Monday. I used vacation time and shared with anyone who asked what I was doing. I've been very open and honest with anyone who has asked. I follow my surgeon and nuts "guide" and don't advance prior to when I should on the food phases. We all heal and progress at different rates. You will hit stalls! Just stay focused. Follow the guide provided. Write out all your notes or questions for your surgeon as you think of them so you don't forget. I have even gained weight post op only to loose it again. Do not check the scale daily as it make you batty . I was lucky to have no issues with gas what so ever. I contribute this to the moving and stretching I did directly aftr surgery. I did range of motion from the point I was "aware" and the anesthesia wasn't clouding my thoughts and got my tail moving. I was on a mission. A mission to make this a good experience. I only wish I had the surgery 10 years ago! You will do fine and I'm here along with everyone else if you need anything it can do to help just message me! Hugs of support on you exciting journey ahead. !
  23. Pretty much the same... My go to guide says to keep bites the size of your pinky nail (aka little fingernail)

May bubble got busted a while ago

If i were in your shoes u would continue with the monthly dr visits... Even I the insurance requires only 6 then you won't be missing any and will have extra. Keep doing what your doing. All insurances are different and I would suggest talking with the surgeons office who will be doing your work. Although I had to have the special 6month dr monitored diet as well my dr had a specific form that had all the specific information. Which my insurance required. Check with you surgeon... They should be able to help you even in advance of coverage so that you will know whAt will be required. Head up and stay positive. If it's ment to be it will be.... Hugs of support
