  1. I had it. The other replies were the same for me. What i want to add is that once I started sleeping with the cpap machine, my energy level and focus improved. I didn't realize how little rest I was getting at night until I got a full night with the cpap. I used to wake up 3 times because I thought I had to go to the bathroom. I was really waking up because I had stopped breathing. Now, I sleep all night. I used to wake up tired in the morning and have to drag myself out of bed. After I got the cpap, I wake with no alarm and feel much better. Since surgery (8/30) my husband said even when I don't sleep with the cpap, I don't snore as bad. Do I sound like a commercial? HaHa! Loving the surgery results! 25 lbs down! val

    feeling dizzy

Thanks for the reply, I went to my doctor and you were right, it was my blood sugar! They also put me on Januevia for diabetes as a precaution. My pre op blood sugar levels were normal and remained normal in the hospital. I continued to take them since I've been home and I guess I don't need them. So my doc took me off of them. Hopefully that won't happen anymore!
  3. I am 4 weeks from surgery. 1 month before surgery I was put on a Water pill. My blood pressure was borderline. Going into surgery and first few weeks after my blood pressure was excellent. Went back to the doctor a few days ago and my blood pressure is too low. Now I am feeling light headed, the room is spinning. Anyone else have this experience? I am going to see my doctor soon but wanted to know if this is common. Val Starting weight 319 7/5/07 surgery weight 314 8/30/07 current weight 291 9/25/07:clap2: 1st goal 40 lbs by 12/25/07

    Progression

I ad 1 week liqiuds, lost 17lbs, my doc moved me to mushies. 3 weeks from surgery I started eating eating soft foods. I ate some chicken that was I blended and it was too soon. Your doc gives you info based on how previous patients have responded. You have to respond to what your body can tolerate. I am back to mushies for a few days. I will try again for soft foods in another week. Solid food so soon seems a bit risky to me. Check to make sure that was what he meant. Val
  5. Chimboree, This is Unrelated to topic, I think enough has been stated but I love your slogan! Val
  6. Wow, I have the same feeling in my outer right thigh as well. I thought it was just me because I never heard anyone talk about that before. I was worried that my circulation was bad and I would need angioplasty or someother serious heart operation! (My own histrionics ) My doc also asked about back pain which I don't have. I never considered potassium and I am taking a Water pill and since no OJ or bananas until recently, that could be it. I have an appointment with a nueologist to check for nerve damage next week. I'll be glad to have this resolved either way. If anyone gets any relief post back what happened. Val
  7. Prior to surgery, I found my energy level increased when I used the c-pap. Since surgery, I don't use it consistently and my spouse said he doesn't hear me snore anymore. Sleep apnea is dangerous and if your doc says you need it, I would get it. Mine was covered by my insurance.

    Don't look at me!!!!

Voondahbah, Since it is my bf, eventually, I'll have to say something. Rignt now I have said don't be Jel, join the fight. I think she is afraid of surgery and won't do it because of that and is a little afraid that this will interfere with our friendship. We all have such insecurities. That's why this process doesn't work or last for people. If you don't deal with the psyche, the phtsical changes are fleeting. You have to change your mindset and those around you have to be willing to accept and support those changes or you may need to set them aside until you are stronger in your self. The on line chat is good and helpful but i really believe the support groups are important. Even if you just have someone you can talk to that has had the surgery and can understand first hand what you are going through is a big help. Well, good luck with your BF. My bf and I have been friends for over 20 years so cal me an optomist but I think we will survive and she will stop making comments. I also hope she will find a way to lose weight also. Take care, Val 7/5/07 - start weight -319 8/30/07 - surgery - 314 9/21/07 - most recent - 291 :clap2:

    Don't look at me!!!!

I know how you feel. I don't like the attention and even 3 weeks out of surgery people are commenting. Some who I don't feel we have the kind of relationship where it is appropriate. people seem to think they have a right to comment so I tend to not respond or change the subject. My husband has alos made comments about fearing that I will leave him. I tell him I love him and we have a pretty good marriage. I also think that if he were giving his all, he wouldn't be insecure. We have been through quite alot together and I think we willl make it through this also. My best friend makes negative comments disguised as compliments. I am encouraging her to change her diet also. we ate together, had babies together and gained weight together. I hope we can lose it together. You just have to feel confident in yourself and know the reason you are doing this is not for anyone else. Also know that the cosmetic effects are a bonus to the positive changes in your health. Good luck! 319 start July 5, 2007 314 surgery 8/30/07 292 9/18/07 goal 275 12/1/07 (Birthday week)

    A Pre-Op Tip

I had surgery 3 weeks ago and they also gave me something for nausea (Sp?) and i t worked. For the first time I am feeling nauseous now. I just introduced soft/puree foods so I think it may have to do with that. I am doing fluids today to see if it passes. I am so glad I did this. I feel better already! highest weight 319 7/5/07 surgery weight 314 8/30/07 one week out 297
